| [Trans] Kahi’s full confession on ‘Heroes’ about her past Posted: 06 Jan 2011 06:56 AM PST She talks about Lizzy (this part has been translated by allkpop already so…SKIP) Basically she just said that there are more possibilities for Lizzy than there are for her. She said that she really liked dancing when she was young. She wanted to be a dancer/singer but her father was very against it. So she ran away from home and tried to earn money to support herself. She has worked at dining places, cafes, and bars. The bars where you dance and serve wine. Then she asked the students if they know about bars like that and the students said no. Kahi said that when she was working at a bar, a lyric composer oppa told her to not live like that anymore and asked if she wanted to do some real, professional dancing/singing. Kahi told the guy that she wasn't going to make it as a singer anyway but she would still try her best and do everything possible. And then she went through this period where she forgot about the reason she came to Seoul, about her singer dreams and her father's criticism. During this period she was crazy about dancing. So she didn't think she would ever have anything to do with singing.  One day Kahi was listening to music with headphones on and humming and half-singing but then…a composer approached her with a grim face and patted her on the shoulder and told her she sounded like she was in pain. Although it was a joke, the composer's words were like a knife that stabbed her heart (because it was her dream to become a singer). She was hurt and really sad. And then she said to herself "Ah, so I don't have any singing talent. I have talent in dancing…but I don't have talent in singing". After she told herself that, she started to practice singing like crazy. She sang all kinds of songs: low pitched/high pitched/male/old songs. She sang everything and anything aloud. She practiced and practiced no matter if the place she was at was quiet or loud. She adopted the habit of humming songs and she just went crazy over singing. And then finally she had the chance of performing with After School. The members keep adding now. To Kahi, After School is a flesh and blood group: "I saw every member come in after school and this group is like my blood and flesh". Then the student asked if she ever had thoughts of giving up. Then Kahi hesitated and then talked about how her grandparents raised her. One time, her grandfather was very sick and he was in the hospital. (Okay, basically the info right here is in that allkpop article..but I'll recap). Kahi stated that it was her first time talking about this. At the time, she was preparing an event with BoA as backup dancer. She has always wanted to visit her grandpa. And since he was really sick, Kahi wanted to see him. She wanted to take a short leave but she couldn't because there wasn't a substitute for her spot. And then she received a phone call telling her that her grandpa's deathly sick and the person asked Kahi if she could visit (but obviously Kahi couldn't b/c it was BoA's big perf). That afternoon, Kahi received the news that her grandpa has passed away.  After this, Kahi said to the students "So why did I have to do this job? I did it to be a singer, I did it for my own dream"..and then she continued, "But I couldn't be a singer. And as a backup dancer, I couldn't shine/have the lead role. I really disliked myself. So that's why I wanted to give up. " And then she said, "But what made me have courage…was the thought that…my grandfather wouldn't be happy to see me like this." She then asked the students if they knew that After School won first for Because of You. She told the students that when she won, she spoke to her grandfather in her mind and said "be proud of me, grandpa". Kahi told the students: "There were many more times where I wanted to just give up. But it was a process where I kept fighting with myself. If I had given up then….but it's not an easy dream to give up…you have to fully devote yourself to it…you have to know how important the dream is to you." Her final words: "No talent can surpass hardwork. If you were born with a talent but you don't try…the talent can get rusty too. If you don't know what you're talented at or good at, try harder. If you try, you won't have any regrets. So I hope all of you can soon find your goal that you can work hard towards. Start working hard at it and make it something you're good at." | Posted: 06 Jan 2011 06:49 AM PST  'Chic-dols' MBLAQ, who is making a comeback with their first full-length album, will be having their first fan-meeting on 9 January. This coming fan-meeting will be held at the Dom Art Hall, which is in the Children's Grand Park, Seoul, on the 9th, at 4pm. MBLAQ's members will be having an anniversary cake-cutting ceremony, playing games and putting up their individual performances. MBLAQ is determined to put up a diversified stage for their fans, at their first fan-meeting. A spokesperson from MBLAQ's agency, J Tune Camp, has mentioned that "A variety of events have been prepared to make this to be an enjoyable fan-meeting" and "While MBLAQ's members are busy with preparing for their first performance of their first full-length album's title song, they have also made use of their spare time to practice their individual skills and performance." Immediately after opening, its server crashed due to over 20,000 visitors. Like many other K-pop groups, SHINee is very popular on an international level, winning the hearts of listeners from countries all of the world. Following this pattern, Peruvian netizens chose SHINee as the best K-pop band of 2010. Online users of a Peruvian news source known as Radio Programas del Peru (RPP) voted for the best K-pop band. The votes were recently tallied, and the top ten bands were SHINee, SS501, JYJ, Super Junior, MBLAQ, CN Blue, FT Island, 2PM, B2ST, and Big Bang. SHINee received 42,970 points, surpassing 2nd place SS501 by over 5,000 points. JYJ received 24,500 points, qualifying the group for 3rd place. Super Junior (23,710 points) and MBLAQ (with 22,260 points) rounded out the top five. SHINee's score was more than double that of CN Blue, who received 19,400 points. As a leader of the idol group BEAST, Yoon Doojoon appears as a college-returning student who has a crush on Geumji (Ga In), showing off his pliant acting and adding more liveliness. In midst of that, Yoon Doojoon doesn't blink an eye to the harsh criticism around him as everything is OK in his character as long as he has something to eat, displaying a naïve yet ignorant character. He livens his character up through plentiful of details. Each scene he's in, he manages to make it as funny as possible. There has also been a similarity that all the characters wake a deep sleeping Doojoon by kicking him with their foot. He received kicks from Ga In from his first appearance as he was chased out into the streets with only his trunks on, which also drew a lot of attention in. later on, when he's sleeping, he also received kicks from Jo Kwon and his mother (played by Bang Eun Hee). He also managed to gather laughter in his role of always running with his eyes widening in site of food. Especially when he always carries a spoon in his pocket and wherever he spots food, he repetitively pulls out his spoon simultaneously to him sitting down right away as viewers have said, "He gets funnier the more I watch." Aside from this, Yoon Doojoon is head over heels for Ga In and whether it's him wide his mouth open or scenes of him being attacked by foot odor, he has broken the standard ideas of stars as he's slowly sweeping away surely as a rookie actor. Yoon Doojoon also seems as if he's not in dislike of the attention he received for his acting of humiliating himself. In a recent Money Today Star News interview, Yoon Doojoon said, "I have no fear in humiliating myself" and "I'm having fun in being an actor." Having just visited the country last year-end, SHINee just revealed that they will be taking KE 691 to Taiwan on the 10th, arriving at 11am. They will be participating in a special (Chinese) New Year programme called 超級巨星紅白藝能大賞 (Superstar red-white entertainment prize) which will be held at the Taipei Arena. Unfortunately, SHINee will be travelling without Jonghyun due to his leg injury. First time filming for a special Chinese New Year show in Taiwan, the SHINee members all feel very excited yet raised a lot of questions such as "What is the difference between Taiwan and Korea during Chinese New Year?" When the Taiwan record label explained to them that red packets are used, they all felt shocked and said "We use white in Korea..". However, because this trip will be very rushed and missing 1 member, SHINee hopes that they can visit Taiwan again in the future to experience the Chinese New Year atmosphere. Now, another rumour regarding SHINee coming to Singapore is reported again. Ah Ken, a DJ from FM100.3, hinted that SHINee will be coming to Singapore for concert on around March or April. There's a programme called Seoul Kpop which Korean songs will be played. Yesturday was BEAST's Yoseob birthday, thus, people are allowed to post their birthday wishes on Ah Ken's Facebook wall and he'll read it out. Someone posted a question asking him whether he thinks that will SHINee be holding their concert at Singapore. And this is what he replied: Er.. 我不能说耶~ 哈哈哈！好啦,我只能说三月多或四月不要花太多钱啦~对啦，就是这样。 (Translation: Er.. I can't say anything, hahaha!
