SNSD’s “Beautiful Girls” music video is revealed

Posted: 05 Jan 2011 09:16 AM PST

Did they include someone besides themselves?

Yoo Young-jin joins the girls for their live album release of “Into the New World”. Young-jin is featured in the bonus track entitled “Beautiful Girls”.

Love them or not, SNSD was the top girl band of 2010…even Choi Si-won supported their Hoot Hoot by appearing in their MV. Personally,I don’t see the point of all the super short skirts and shorts.

However, if SONES love them…..who am I to judge?

Enjoy the Rockettes….I mean SNSD‘s “Beautiful Girls” here:

CNN: South Korea is the Eastern Hollywood

Posted: 05 Jan 2011 08:27 AM PST

Welcome to Hallyu-Wood!

CNN Asia loves to talk about Korea Culture. They featured many of K-entertianment’s most popular in 2010 like Kim Hyun-joong, Daniel Henney, Lee Hyo-ri, Super Junior members, etc..

This year, they are focusing on the popularity of South Korean movies and dramas.

Below is an excerpt of their recent discovery of the popularity of Korean entertainment:

"Koreans use the term "hallyu" to describe the phenomenon. It refers to the "Korean Wave" of entertainment that has swept across the shores of almost every single country in the region, even increasingly beyond. Some are now even referring to the trend as "hallyu-wood…..”

A senior manager at KBS explains,

“…part of the reason why the country's culture industry is so successful abroad stems from the fact that the content is high quality and also cheap, at least compared to entertainment that could be bought from other, particularly Western, markets. Culture also plays a role. Korean content, especially dramas, is as, if not more, popular than Western series because, simply put, Asians relate to it more."

I enjoy the dramas because of the quailty of the production. Of course, the superb acting is the key.

What attracted you to Hallyu-wood?

GD and T.O.P’s “Knockout” banned from TV

Posted: 04 Jan 2011 03:18 PM PST

Are you surprised?

GD and T.O.P‘s latest MV “Knockout” has been banned from being performed at 3 of the major broadcasting stations in Korea- KBS, MBC, and SBS. The lyrics to the song are considered inappropriate by these stations, and in return netizens are lashing out.

In response, YG Entertainment stated that they will not change a song which has already been revealed to the public and they will not change a song's title or the lyrics to change its meaning.

Fans are disappointed that they won’t see “knockout” being performed, but GD and T.O.P will be promoting 6 songs off their album so fans will still get to see upcoming performances! The boys have leveled up and will beat 2NE1′s triple song promotion by doubling their promotions. Not bad, right?

Kim Jae-joong: “You keep your head up…..”

Posted: 04 Jan 2011 02:17 PM PST

and keep [your] open mind”  Was DBSK‘s new song “Keep Your Head Down” about JYJ?

JYJ’s Jae-joong posted the message above and new profile picture on his twitter. Recently,Cassies have been in an uproar about the title and lyrics of DBSK’s (TVXQ) newest single Keep Your Head Down“. They claim the lyrics describing love lost and being forgotten are directly aimed at the members of JYJ(DBSK’s former members).

SM Entertainment explained that the lyrics are not about them and that the song is about a relationship between a man and a woman.

Despite their explanation, Jae-joong is clearing up any misunderstandings about his band.

The title “Keep Your Head Down” does make you think……. What is your opinion about this DBSK-JYJ matter?
