"People will think "He's Big Bang's maknae. What can a maknae do?" But breaking those stereotypes is fun."


Big Bang's Seungri unleashed his first solo album on January 20th, which shortly became the top most searched album on various music sites like Bugs Music, Naver Music and Mnet.com. Taking that accomplishment in stride, Seungri is aiming to change the general public's view of him as a singer and a musician.

Seungri is a member of a group who's not only popular in Korea, but has gained explosive interest and popularity in Japan and all of Asia. Yet when one compares his solo activities to his group members', it could be considered to be of a smaller scale. A maknae of a team who has so much to offer – does he ever get worried?
"I'm a fatalist. I believe everything has its own pre-determined time to rise. If I don't have activities or receive opportunities, then I believe that's fate. I'm saying that it's better to keep preparing yourself for your fate rather than being impatient. Of course, my being able to release this solo album is fate in itself."


Unlike his bandmates (who could be found on variety programs, movies, or back at the studio), it was difficult to spot Seungri with a solo project in the entertainment industry. Seungri explains that the reason for this was because he didn't feel confident in his abilities.
"To be honest, I didn't have the confidence to do better than the other members for solo music promotions, and there wasn't anyone who said I should try solo.Since I'm not a member who focuses greatly on music, I was scared of writing lyrics and composing songs. When others ask me of my abilities in composing or producing, I've always said, "I'm not good at it."

Whether it was fate who intervened, or a well-timed opportunity, no one can say for certain. What is known, however, was that Seungri seized his insecurities and rose above them. His solo work was originally planned to be a digital single, but due to the positive response, YG Entertainment CEO Yang Hyun Suk decided to turn it into a seven-track mini-album. Of those seven tracks, six were personally composed and penned by Seungri himself.
"I was able to make the songs after constantly listening and looking over the shoulders of the other members while they produced music during the five years of being together."

With G-Dragon and T.O.P being too busy with their own unit album promotions, Seungri had to prepare his new album without the help of his bandmates. But the independence allowed Seungri the chance to establish his own unique charms in his works.

Musing over his music video for "VVIP", Seungri expressed:
"Whatever I do, I like using things that have meaning behind it. For the "VVIP" music video, the key held the most meaning. The key's meaning was that if you use the key to open the door to enter Seungri's world, you become a VVIP. I hope the fans can feel that while listening to the album."

With Big Bang preparing to make an official comeback on February 24th, Seungri will unfortunately only have one month to promote his first solo album. When asked if he felt a sense of disappointment, however, Seungri confidently shook his head.
"I'm going to make the general public feel a sense of yearning to watch me perform. That way, even while I'm promoting as Big Bang, I can simultaneously run solo promotions as well, no?"

[NEWS] Big Bang 40,000-seater concert a complete sellout!

Boy band Big Bang's upcoming annual concert, set to accomodate some 40,000 fans, has soldout after attracting over one million people rushed to a website to grab tickets, according to the group's agency YG Entertainment on Friday.

A press release by YG revealed today that the tickets, sold in three separate rounds from Tuesday to Thursday on online shopping and reservation site G-Market, attracted 250,000 fans the first round, then 300,000 the next round and 450,000 the final time.

Big Bang's "2011 BIG SHOW" is set to be staged at Seoul's Gymnastic Stadium of the Olympic Park from February 25 to 27.

Big Bang members expressed their gratitude for the enthusiastic response for their upcoming concert through the statement and added they have been preparing a lot for both the upcoming concert.

Most importantly, the concert will mark Big Bang's much-anticipated return to the K-pop music scene for the first time in over two years - their third full-length album will be released on February 24.

Big Bang is currently active through its unit activities composed of duo G-Dragon and TOP and solo Seungri under which both teams have released their first albums titled "GD & T. OP" and "VVIP," respectively.

Known as one of the biggest idol names in the country, the group composed of members G-Dragon, TOP, Seungri, Daesung and Taeyang, had released a number of smash-hit songs which swept music charts for several weeks.

Then in the summer of 2009, Big Bang crossed over to the Japanese music market where several of their singles placed in the top slots of the prestigious Oricon chart.

Starting May, they will hold a nationwide tour where they are expected to perform for a total 160,000 fans.

Jay was NOT laughing at people, nor was he talking about jabbing anyone in the face and laughing about it. A lot of people were taking those last two tweets of theirs out of context and accusing Jay of being disrespectful, when that's clearly not what's going on here.

Unlike most times, I felt like people were actually believing this. I just want to remind all of our JWalkerz to not jump to conclusions no matter what you read. Do your own research or even ask us to look into it. I know that many of you know this already, but I'm just reinforcing it.

[News] JYJ's Yoochun, Jaejoong, Junsu Takes On Dramas & Musicals For 2nd Half Of 2011

Continuing their host of activities, JYJ will be taking on the role of actor/performers in 2011. A representative of JYJ's management company met with OSEN, and said that Yoochun, Jaejoong and Junsu will be extending their activities to movies or dramas as well as musicals.

Firstly, Park Yoochun, who successfully took on an acting role in the KBS drama "Sungkyunkwan Scandal," is planning to take on another drama. The management said, "After Sungkyunkwan Scandal, there have been many projects making love calls," and "since his first project was a period drama, we are looking forward to another project which can allow him to show a different kind of charm. At its latest, we will find another drama project by the later part of this year."

Due to his role as Lee Seon Joon in "Sungkyunkwan Scandal," Park Yoochun, as a rookie actor, has received much praise for his acting skills. Furthermore, he bagged the Best Newcomer Award, Netizen Award and Best Couple award, at the 2010 KBS Drama awards, showing his possibility and potential in becoming a star actor.

Also, performing on 1 February in the musical "Tears of Heaven," Junsu has plans to be more active in the musical field. The management said, "Although he has been offered roles in dramas and movies, Junsu plans to continue steadily in the path of being a musical actor," and "his abilities have been recognized via his projects, and also his affirmation by ticket power, but the task at hand is to complete "Tears of Heaven" successfully. It is possible that he will be greeting the audiences via other musicals for the later part of the year."

Acting in the Japanese drama "Sunao Ni Narenakute" together with top actors and receiving a great response, Jaejoong may also be making his local (T/N: Korean) debut this year. Jaejoong, whose appearance in "Sunao Ni Narenakute," equipped with the foundations of acting, is the envy of many local producers. The management said, "Jaejoong's charm and his acting experience has gained him some attention from the producers, and he has been getting love calls," and "Dramas are a given, but even for movies, all kinds of scripts have been sent. For dramas, the good suggestions are now being seriously considered. In the later half of 2011, the chances of him greeting the audiences via a drama is very high."

On Soyeon's latest guesting on KBS 2tv's '100 points of 100' show, T-ara's main vocal Soyeon admits to having cosmetic procedures to her nose.


In the show, comedian Kim KyungJin pointed out about wanting Soyeon to fix her nose in the segment "I'll Fix It'. Due to the confrontation, Soyeon fires back saying, "I already got shots*** done in my nose before. I considered getting a nosejob before, but maybe because of this, I will get one."

Adding to that statement, she explains "Getting shots are not really plastic surgery. It's just shots, since they dont cut you up."

This confrontation will be aired on January 22, KBS 2TV.

He definitely caused a big trouble. On the 20th, Big Bang's Seungri released his first solo album and the songs on album have been placed high on various music charts such as Naver Music, Bugs Music, Mnet.com and many more. This may be just a start but as a singer, Seungri has decided himself to change the minds of the people. Before he released his solo album, he revealed his hopeful and made it into reality.
Not only in Korea, but in Japan and in Asia in general, he's the member of Big Bang who gained a lot of popularity. But compared to the other members, he has the least amount of solo activities. The youngest member have so many things he wants to do.
"I believe in faith. I think everything has its time. If there are no activities or a chance then I think it's destiny as well. I think it's better to continuously prepare for the destiny that's about to come than to be hasty. Of course, the release of this solo album is destiny as well."
Other members have been very active by doing solo and unit promotions and also with variety shows and acting as well. But, Seungri have not been able to do that. No, not being able to do it is not the right expression. He didn't force himself to do something.
Seungri said, "Truthfully, I wasn't confident that I could do better than the other members with music promotions and no one told me to do a solo either. Within Big Bang, I'm not in the center when it comes to music orientation so I was afraid of producing and writing songs. When others asked me about my skills in producing and writing songs, I told them I had no skills."
Almost as if it was destiny, a chance was given and Seungri took that chance cooly. In the beginning, Seungri's solo album was going to be released as a digital single but YG Entertainment's President Yang Hyun Seok said that they got good feedback from 'So What' and 'VVIP' and released a mini album with a total of 7 songs and started his solo activities. Out of those songs, Seungri produced and wrote 6 of the songs.
Seungri said, "During the 5 years I've worked with Big Bang, I watched the members produce and write the songs by looking over their shoulders and wrote the songs from what I've heard from them."  But even before it was announced, the songs were getting great feedback and the expression of 'genius' fits him well.
Seungri prepared this album as he was running by himself because the other members were too busy with their activities. G-Dragon and T.O.P. with their unit album and Taeyang with his solo work. Thanks to that, Seungri is able to pour out his charm on this album.
Out of those, it's the music video for VVIP which is one of the title song on his album. Seungri revealed that, "No matter what kind of work it is, I like to leave some kind of meaning. In VVIP, the meaning is within the key. When you open the door with the key, you enter Seungri's world and you become the VVIP and with that meaning I want the fans to listen to it and receive that feeling as well.
This is how the first solo album was made but due to Big Bang's comeback on February 24th, his solo activities will last less than a month. There could be some disappointment and regret. But Seungri shook his head.
"I'm going to make the listeners become anxious because they want to see more of Seungri as a solo singer. Then don't you think I'll be able to do activities as Big Bang and also as a solo singer at the same time?"

SNSD won the Daesang on Seoul Music Awards yesterday,2010 was a year for the girls.

The girls burst into tears after being announced as the winner,fans were touched to see the girls hugging each other and the photo above,of course has also become the photo of the day from my point of view!
