Jo Han-seon begins his military service Posted: 09 Sep 2010 03:02 AM PDT Actor Jo Han-seon is the latest to heed the call of duty; he enlisted for his mandatory two-year army service on September 9. He’ll train at the Nonsan training facility for four weeks, and then take his position in the public service sector. His last professional event prior to the enlistment was attending the press conference the day before for his new film, Invincible, which is the A Better Tomorrow remake co-starring Song Seung-heon and Joo Jin-mo. That day, he told the press, “I’ve been busy earning a living and ended up going late [into military service]. I should have gone sooner, but I’m just going now.” (...) © javabeans for Dramabeans, 2010. | Permalink | 8 comments | Add to del.icio.us |
My Girlfriend Is a Gumiho: Episode 9 Posted: 08 Sep 2010 09:23 PM PDT A cute episode, though not my particular favorite. We get some of the standard machinations of the supporting cast, and a few more wrenches thrown into the plot. Thankfully there are, as usual, a number of cute coupley moments to buoy us through these waters of Necessary Plot Complications. Ratings: No big shakeups, so the numbers are as expected. All three dipped slightly, but I suspect Thursday will bring them back up: Baker King was still far in front with a 43.3%, while Gumiho stayed firmly in second with 10.8%. Playful Kiss (ouchhh) stayed at its low of 3.5%. SONG OF THE DAY Kim Gun-mo – “울랄라” (Ooh la la) from the My Girlfriend Is a Gumiho OST (...) © javabeans for Dramabeans, 2010. | Permalink | 70 comments | Add to del.icio.us This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
Park Shi-hoo joins cast of Queen of Reversals Posted: 08 Sep 2010 05:15 PM PDT Park Shi-hoo, most recently of SBS’s trendy romance drama Prosecutor Princess, has been added to the cast of Queen of Reversals, which is the second season of MBC’s hit Queen of Housewives. (Although it’s called Season 2, the drama features a completely different story and a mostly-new cast, with the exception of returning star Kim Nam-joo in the lead.) Queen of Reversals has already signed Jung Jun-ho and Chae Jung-ahn on to join Kim, the former as her love interest and the latter as her rival. Park Shi-hoo completes the main cast in the role of an “indifferent and uninterested” second-generation chaebol. Looks like he shares some traits with Tae-bong of the first series; he works as the department director of the company where the main characters work, and as he works with Kim, he develops into a genuine leader. The drama will hold its first script reading on the 9th, and is set to premiere on October 18. It’ll follow Dong Yi, which ends at Episode 60 after a ten-episode extension. Via OSEN RELATED POSTS

Park Shin-hye and Lee Min-jung’s duet MV Posted: 08 Sep 2010 03:08 PM PDT As mentioned previously, Park Shin-hye and Lee Min-jung sing a duet for their movie Cyrano Dating Agency, as did their co-stars Uhm Tae-woong and Daniel Choi. The boys’ track released an accompanying MV, which was posted here, and now the ladies’ song has also put out a video. I knew Park Shin-hye had a passable singing voice, since she sang for her last drama You’re Beautiful, but I hadn’t known that Lee Min-jung had one as well. Granted, neither actress has very strong vocals, but they suit the song with their prettiness and lightness. Preview clip for Rain’s Runaway (Plan B) Posted: 08 Sep 2010 10:28 AM PDT Here, we go, the preview video for Runaway! And true to the drama’s title, there’s a lot of running in it. The drama is described as a romantic-comedy action project, which could have skewed hokey if done too slapstick. But on the contrary, it looks pretty slick, actually. Lots of action and — with this writer-director pair (of Chuno, as well as Level 7 Civil Servant‘s writer) — probably a lot of stylish cinematography and fast pacing. (Do we now have to change the title to Plan B, per the trailer? I’ve gotten so used to thinking of it as Runaway… By the way, for those of you wondering why I’ve stuck with Runaway instead of Fugitive — as both titles are in use equally — it was a deliberate choice because the Korean word can mean either, but “fugitive” has the added connotation of criminality. As far as I know, Rain isn’t a criminal, but he IS on the run. Plus, the drama website uses the word “run.” Just for those who were curious.) RELATED POSTS
