[news] Wonder Girls hold showcase at gaming show in U.S.

Korean pop sensation the Wonder Girls held a showcase and fan meeting at a major gaming show in the United States over the weekend.

According to a press release from the girls' agency JYP Entertainment (JYPE) on Tuesday, the girls were invited by 3D game company, NCsoft, to perform on stage at the EMP (Experience Music Project), part of the PAX (Penny Arcade Expo) Prime 2010 which was held in Seattle of Washington on September 3.

They performed their hits song "2 Different Tears," "Tell Me," "So Hot" and "Nobody" as well as meeting with about 150 fans after the show for a photograph session.

"The Wonder Girls are the first ever Asian singers to have performed on the PAX stage," an official from PAX was quoted as saying, adding that it was "a great performance and the audience was happy."

An official from JYPE explained that it was the second time for the group to see and spend time with their fans in Seattle. They were in the city on June 31 as one of the stops for their U.S. tour.

PAX, created by webcomic "Penny Arcade" authors Jerry Holkins and Mike Krahulik, is a semi-annual gamer festival held in both Seattle and Boston. It first open in 2004 which focuses on console games, computer games and tabletop games.

Wonder Girls -- originally composed of Sohee, Yubin, Sun, Yenny and Mimi -- made their debut in Korea in 2007 and rose to stardom with their hit songs "Tell Me," "So Hot," and "Nobody."

They relocated to the U.S. with JYPE producer Park Jin-young to break into the American pop scene and were the opening acts for popular boy band Jonas Brothers in the summer of 2009. They ventured on to appear in various TV shows and gained recognition in the country

The quintet, with new member Lim who replaced Mimi after she left the group in February, returned to the local music scene with their international released album "2 Different Tears" in May 18 and embarked on their U.S. tour in early June.

Popular K-pop girl group Kara member Han Seung-yeon has fractured her spine while working out, forcing the band to delay their comeback to the local music scene set for later this month, according to the girls' agency DSP Media on Tuesday.

The girls had recently been working out ahead of the release of their fourth mini-album when Han was told her spine had been fractured while on a visit to an oriental medical clinic after experiencing pain to her waist.

She has been hospitalized and advised to receive four weeks of treatment and accordingly, their comeback has tentatively been pushed back to after early November when the girls' second single in Japan goes on sale.

DSP will discuss with media officials regarding their schedules set for September but Han will most likely be unable to carry out any of her activities.

Han, 22, is the leader of the five-member group who made their debut in 2007 with their first album "Blooming." They have released several singles and albums containing their hits "Pretty Girl," "Wanna" and "Lupin."

They recently made a successful debut in Japan, becoming the first Asian girl group to rank in the top 10 of the prestigious Oricon weekly singles chart with their first single in the country "Mister."

They are also the second foreign artist in almost 30 years to have made it within the top 10 slots and the third non-Japanese female artists to rank in the top of the charts in over 38 years.

2AM's Seulong visited the dentist today, and he definately seemed quite scared about it (and handsome at the same time.)

SJ Eunhyuk revealed an extraordinary bond with TVXQ Xiah Junsu.

On KBS2 TV Happy Birthday aired at Sept 6th 11:05 PM, Eunhyuk as well as broadcaster Choi Eunyoung and actrees Lee Ah-hyeon appeared, well prepared with their pictures to reveal in public and witty jokes battle unfolded.

Super Junior leader Leeteuk has suddenly transformed into a pilot.

Super Junior boarded the plane to LA on the 2nd(September) in the afternoon for the "SMTown Live 2010 world tour". SM Entertainment has spent near 1billion(korean won) for the aeroplane, to allow SM artistes, together with the staffs to travel to America.

Not long after the plane took off, it was not the pilot who did the broadcasting, instead, it was Leeteuk.

Leeteuk said "I am the official SM representative, Leeteuk" After he has introduced himself, he sounded like a real pilot by thanking everyone for boarding the plane.

After hearing Leeteuk voice, everyone in the plane became more focused when listening to the broadcast. Leeteuk expressed "If everything is done according to what the pilot says, the time spent on the plane will pass by really fast", "The food will be served soon, there are 2 choices, thus it would be better if you think of what you would like to eat beforehand" and the information were conveyed properly.

Lastly, Leeteuk said "This is Super Junior Leeteuk" and ended his broadcast happily. Leeteuk's bubbly character and his ability to speak had made the people on the plane smile.

A representative of SM Entertainment (hereafter refers to SM), Kim Young Min, said, "The world's famous video-sharing website, YouTube, has played the role of an engine to attract fans from all around the world."

[News] SM Entertainment to take legal actions against Cambodian ‘SHINee copy group’

SM Entertainment speaks up officially about a Cambodian boyband who has been labeled as the 'copy group' to SHINee.

A video titled 'KH Stars-Ring Ding Dong' has been uploaded online on Youtube recently. In the video, a 5-member Cambodian boygroup singing and dancing to SHINee's hit song 'Ring Ding Dong'. Even though the group tries to follow the song through MR and the signature dance moves, the quality of their performance is different from SHINee's.

Regarding this, SM Entertainment announced on 7th September, "We have not heard anything from anyone in Cambodia about using 'Ring Ding Dong'. We are currently in the midst of contacting officials from Cambodia and confirming details, after which we will respond with legal actions."

Meanwhile, SHINee is set to perform in Cambodia coming February.

FT Island, who made their comeback after a year's absence, has conquered the charts.

FT Island, who recently came back with their rock ballad title song "Love Love Love" after a successful Japanese promotion, has been ranked 1st on the weekly chart on the music website, Monkey3.

FT Island has hit the top with "Love Love Love", over Secret who has been in the 1st place for 2 weeks, on Monkey3 Weekly chart for the 1st week of September (30 Aug~5 Sep).

Especially, the victory of ballad singers such as Wheesung, Park Hyo Sin & KCM has started, with FT Island on the lead. Wheesung's "I Even Thought of Marriage" jumped from 20th to 3rd last week. Park Hyo Sin's "I Love You", the OST for the drama "Athena", has went down a little to the 4th place, but constant popularity is expected. Also, KCM's new single, "3 Years Past", took the 9th place as soon as it was released.

[News] Cambodia's SHINee doing Ring Ding Dong

On youtube, a video called 'KHStars - Ring Ding Dong' was uploaded. A 5 membered group from Cambodia did an imitation of SHINee's 'Ring Ding Dong'. Both singing and dancing.

They tried doing Ring Ding Don'g hip dance and even tried MR removed but the quality is noticeably different. Netizens commented "The group name is Ring Ding Dong too? If you're gonna copy them, at least do it well"

SM representative , after seeing the video commented "Even if they tried to be similar to SHINee, we never got any notification from Cambodia that 'Ring Ding Dong' would be officially used.

The likely reason for this imitation was due to SHINee's concert in Febuary earlier this year. Even if it was their first concert, it was a big hit.

The teaser contains little clips of JYP artists since the beginning of JYP, starting with Park Jin Young himself in 1994.

It also has Park Ji Yoon 1997, god 1999, Rain 2002, Wonder Girls 2007, 2AM and 2PM 2008, Miss A in 2010. The teaser continues onto say 'The Next big thing' showing San E.

The Korean "Pet Idol" B2ST's all 6 members have appeared on SBS E!TV "Shin Jung Hwan PD's Performing Arts Production Station".

Korean boy band INFINITE will be holding their first-ever fan meeting on September 19, according to their agency Woolim Entertainment on Tuesday.

Woolim announced in a press release that in celebrating the boys 100th day since their debut, they will meet and greet their fans at CGV Art Hall located in the Times Square shopping center in Yeongdeung-po of Seoul.

The event will be hosted by comedian Park Hwi-soon and the group will be singing all the tracks from their first album, give solo performances as well as hold a question and answer session with their fans.

"Preparing for this fan meeting is different from preparing for a show. We are working hard to put on the best performance for our fans which they have not seen before," the members of INFINITE were quoted as saying, adding that they hope to spend a great time with their fans.

INFINITE, composed of members L, Hoya, Woo-hyun, Sung-kyu, Dong-woo, Sung-yeol and Sung-jong, made their debut in April through Mnet's reality TV show "INFINITE! You are the One." They released their first mini-album featuring the song "Come Back Again" and followed it up with the single "She's Back."

[NEWS] Bae Yong-joon's photo essay to sell in Taiwan

Top Hallyu star Bae Yong-joon's photo essay "Discovering the Beauty of Korea," which has been sold in both Korea and Japan, will also go on the shelves of Taiwan.

Bae's agency KEYEAST announced through a press release on Tuesday that the Taiwanese version, completed after a year-long period of translation, will go on sale in the country starting today.

"We had constantly received requests and inquiries regarding the book's publication not only from fans but also regular readers. We're hoping it will be received well by people of all ages since it serves as a guidebook to Korea's culture instead of being the typical star-related book," the book's Taiwanese publisher SBOOKER explained.

KEYEAST added that a Chinese and English version of Bae's photo essay are also set to be published.

"Discovering" had entered into its 13th print a month after going on sale in Korea in late September last year and a re-print in three days of its release in Japan.

The book contains photographs of various cultural artisans that the actor met during his travels, as well as introductions to Korean culture and travel locations which Bae compiled over a one-year period.
