Heechul cameos on I Am Legend

Posted: 19 Sep 2010 11:02 PM PDT

For all you Super Junior fans out there: Monday’s episode of I Am Legend will feature a special appearance by idol star and sometimes actor Kim Heechul.

In the episode (the 15th), the ladies of the drama’s Comeback Madonna Band visit a radio station, as guests on Lee Sook-young’s “Power FM” program. Hwa-ja (played by Hong Ji-min) is the first to spot Heechul, who plays a radio DJ but is essentially playing himself. Hwa-ja asks for his autograph, at which point he recognizes the group and declares himself their fan. He then invites them on his own program, proving that the band is making serious inroads into their career.

Su Ae and Jung Woo-sung in bed together for Athena

Posted: 19 Sep 2010 09:00 PM PDT

Literally. It’s funny to compare Athena‘s promotional blitz with IRIS‘s, because there are so many similarities. On one hand, I do NOT want to spend all of Athena‘s run nitpicking every detail and comparison to IRIS, but on the other hand, it’s sort of inevitable.

Example: Compare the above still with these from IRIS. In IRIS, the scene occurred on a memorable romantic getaway to Japan. In Athena, the scene happens on a romantic date in… Japan. Taewon Entertainment, your formula is showing.

(Not that it makes it any less interesting. Hot spies in bed together, rawr!)

Oh Ji-ho cameos for Runaway

Posted: 19 Sep 2010 07:29 PM PDT

The KBS drama Chuno shot Oh Ji-ho to the greatest success of his career to date, so now he’s returning the favor to the writer and director by making a cameo appearance in their follow-up series, Runaway (Plan B). Eee, will there be enough room onscreen for the pretty?? (And I’m not just talking about Lee Na-young here — Oh will have to contend for our attention with Rain, Daniel Henney, and Lee Jung-jin. Phew, Christmas came early. Thank Santa!)

In Runaway, Oh will play the childhood buddy to Rain’s character Ji-woo. As such, Ji-woo has no choice but to take on the case involving his old friend, thereby kicking off the series.

Oh said, “I’m particularly looking forward to this drama because it’s being done by director Kwak Jung-hwan and writer Chun Sung-il, and I’m thrilled to be part of it with this cameo. It’s too bad that my schedule won’t permit it because I’d love to appear more.”

Oh is currently filming the creature feature Sector 7 and the KBS variety program Invincible Baseball Team. He’ll also head to Tokyo on September 27 for Chuno promotions.

Jung Jun-ho to romance his hyung’s wife?

Posted: 19 Sep 2010 03:31 PM PDT

It’s funny that I didn’t put two and two together, but it turns out that when Jung Jun-ho took the lead in Queen of Reversals, he signed on to romance Kim Nam-joo, who is the wife of his friend and hyung, Kim Seung-woo.

I love it. It’s a real-life drama love triangle, complete with beautiful people and the great backdrop of a drama set. Except without the angst, as Jung and Kim are actually really good friends.

Saturday, September 18, was the day of the 18th Icheon Chunsa Film Festival, held in the city of Icheon in Kyeonggi Province. The overwhelming winner was the film Moss, a crime thriller from the director of Silmido starring Jung Jae-young, Park Hae-il, Yoo Jun-sang, and Yoo Sun. It picked up awards in seven categories, including Best Picture and Supporting Actor.

Moss released in theaters in July and is based on the “web toon” of the same name. It was a big performer this summer, logging 3.3 million attendances.
