Posted: 15 Sep 2010 05:01 AM PDT

Within ten days of its release, So Ji-sub‘s photo-essay book hit the bestseller list and received a warm reception from fans. It’s already sold 50,000 copies by pre-order, and has entered its third printing.

The book, entitled So Ji-sub’s Road, is a collection of photographs and essays. He also writes about his interactions with various writers and artists, like rapper Tiger JK. The usually taciturn and stoic So Ji-sub reveals his inner thoughts throughout the book, drawing a lot of interest from fans. It’s nice to see him take the first step past his reticent image.

Lee Min-jung doesn’t feel like a star yet (but is)

Posted: 14 Sep 2010 08:24 PM PDT

With Cyrano Dating Agency opening this Thursday, there’s been a blitz of promotional activity, as you’ve no doubt noticed. Following the interview with the film’s leading man Uhm Tae-woong, here’s one with leading lady Lee Min-jung, who has enjoyed a meteoric rise to fame in the past year and a half.

“I don’t feel like I’m a star yet… Cyrano was such fun I was giggling to myself”

Actress Lee Min-jung has increased her popularity this year. Her first leading role in a drama was in SBS’s Smile, which began airing last year, which received strong ratings and was extended to finish early this year. After that, she was selected as the main model for the rival brand of the soju Lee Hyori endorses.

She was deluged with all kinds of CF offers, then was suddenly picked to lead the movie Cyrano Dating Agency, which opens this Chuseok season. But it seemed as though she couldn’t actually feel all this herself. She walks the streets as freely as ever, and worries about whether her character will be able to draw in audiences effectively like an ordinary actress. She answered all the questions relatively frankly, and smiled broadly with an unexpected charm.

Petty Romance’s rain-soaked kiss

Posted: 14 Sep 2010 04:46 PM PDT

Not long ago, we saw the first stills of Lee Seon-kyun and Choi Kang-hee adorably paired in their new movie Petty Romance, and here are a few more that take a more romantic bent.

The two played a couple in 2008′s understated drama My Sweet Seoul; they’re just as cute now as they were then, or even more so. Lee’s character was a bit stiff in My Sweet Seoul, but he looks much less straitlaced here as a writer of adult manhwas. Meanwhile, Choi plays a fake sex columnist.

Posted: 14 Sep 2010 11:53 AM PDT

[Hi folks, I know you've been waiting for this recap, so I hope you'll give a warm welcome to the two Sungkyunkwan recappers, cassie.opeia and red pill! Some of you have been very patient, and I thank you for that. Some of you have not, and we will speak of it no further. Both recappers are working very hard, and I know you will love having their thoughts on this little gem of a series. Enjoy. --javabeans]

Greetings, readers!! Cassie here, reporting for duty! I'll be one of the guest recappers for this series along with Red Pill, who will be alternating episodes with me. I know what you're thinking…Cassie.Opeia…really? Really. However, I just wanted to let you guys know that I'm not in this just because I'm a DBSK fan but because I've been intrigued by this drama since day one. Besides, Micky Yoochun is my least favorite member and I'm sure many of you will agree with me when I say that Song Joong Ki has stolen the spotlight for "Most Beautiful Man" in the show. Anyhow, enough with the introductions and onto the recap!
