[NEWS] G.NA places atop weekly music chart in Singapore

Korean songstress G.NA, who debuted two months ago, has taken the No. 1 spot on a weekly albums chart in Singapore, according to her agency Cube Entertainment on Tuesday.

Cube announced in a press release that the singer's first mini-album "Draw G's First Breath" came in first on record retailer HMV's K-POP/J-POP chart, pushing past top Korean singers Girls' Generation, BoA and 2NE1, during the week of September 19 to 25.

The agency also explained that the 22-year-old singer flew into Singapore today to hold her first showcase in the country aimed at promoting her debut album.

Discovered and trained by Cube Entertainment, G.NA splashed onto the local music scene in July with digital duet single "Things I Want to do When I Have a Lover" with Asian superstar Rain and released her mini-album a few days later.

[News] Brian, Choi Si-won and Vanness Wu to release album in Oct

Korean artists Brian, Super Junior member Choi Si-won and Chinese artist Vanness Wu have come together to record an album aimed at helping African children, according to a press release from entertainment firm Lion Media on Tuesday.

Lion Media announced through the statement that the three singers have formed a project group called 3rd Wave through which they will release an album titled "I Will Be There" on October 10.

Recorded in English, all proceeds from the album will be donated for use as emergency aid for children in Africa.

"I have received a lot of support from my fans during my ten years as a singer so I am happy that I can give back to those in need with my musical ability," singer Brian was quoted as saying.

The upcoming album, written and composed by leader Johnny Lee, will feature 11 tracks including "Sweetest Name" sung by Choi Si-won and "Everything to Me," a duet by Vanness Wu and Brian.

"I Will be There" will be available online at www.3rdwavemusic.org and released simultaneously in both Korea and the United States through Apple's iTune store in early October.

Super Junior member Yesung is taking on the roles of a singer, a musical actor, and an MC.

Yesung was casted in the Broadway comedy musical 'Spamalot', which parodies the story of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, and will appear as Sir Galahad who used to be a farmer with distinct political affiliations, and became a part of the Knights of the Round Table after receiving his knighthood.

Prior to this, Yesung's stable singing and acting skills which have received good reviews after performing in the musicals "Nam Han San Sung" and "Hong Gil Dong", is expected to show a new look through the new musical.

Apart from that, Yesung is also showing off his glib through his MC-ing activities on the programmes Trend-E "The Muzit" and MBC Dramanet's "Love Pursuer".

Yesung said "I'm very happy and thankful at being given the chances to try out diverse roles", and that "In the future, in order to show everyone a good side of me, I will work diligently, (so) please continue to show interest (in me)."

Currently, after ending the regular promotional activities for their 4th album, Super Junior are meeting with their Asian fans through the "Super Show 3" Asia Tour.

TVXQ's 3 members who are in dispute with their agency SM Entertainment regarding exclusive contract (currently in hiatus), Yoochun, Jaejoong, and Junsu revealed that they would release an album that aimed world wide as its target next month.

The album that is produced by the three members, has decided to be released in Asia, United States, and worldwide, and the party that is responsible for the distribution is Warner Music. In addition, the album is going to be available in iTune and other overseas' options of sound services.

Ever since the three members left from SM Entertainment last year, they've been moving their activities to Japan and released a new album there. Recently the members also participated in soundtrack album of Korean drama 'SungKyunKwan Scandal' which is starring member Micky Yoochun. However, to have them releasing album with world wide market as its target including Korea, under the name of these three members, this would be their first time.

The three members in an interview at 'G20 Summit Meeting in Seoul' blog on September 27th, "Our current biggest goal is to release a world wide album and to succeed in world market," they said. "There are a lot of people who have noticed about this album, and that would be a chance that this world wide activity will turn well." explaining further.

One official party who is involved in the album production, "The color of this album is completely different from 'TVXQ' music I know from all of these times." he explained. Since there are United States pop musicians who contributed in the production of this album, so there is a challenge too for the three members to do recording only in English, and they'd struggled with pronunciation ever since. Currently, the three members are working in South Korea to finalize the album and is having discussion about the group name.

The official said, "We already came to conclusion that we couldn't use TVXQ name." and "There is 'B1′ that is inspired from word 'Restart' which in sense of 'Beginning'. And the acronym of members' name 'JYJ' has also been put forward as one of the candidate group name but it has not reached to decision yet."

Some days ago, the Japanese label of three members, AVEX's decision announcement to discontinue the members' activities was spread widely, yet the three members side responded, "They (the trio) are the victims." stating their standpoint, and claimed, "We have completely no intention to discontinue activities.".

[NEWS] Big Bang will release two Japanese DVDs on October!

Along with the release of their first photo book (Electric Love Concert Photobook), Big Bang will release two DVDs on October 27th, titled, "BIGSHOW 2010" and "2009-2010 BIGSHOW MAKING DVD&BOOK SPECIAL REPACKAGE".

"BIGSHOW 2010" will be their concert from January this year in Korea, and the DVDs will come with a 260 page booklet of the concert. While Japan has its own version, the Japanese version will come with a clip of "Koe wo Kikasete" live. It will also be region free and come with subtitles in Japanese and Korean and have an original design.

The "2009-2010 BIGSHOW MAKING DVD&BOOK SPECIAL REPACKAGE" is an original DVD with a "behind the scenes" of their 2009 and 2010 concerts, including multi-angled shots of the events. The Japanese version will come with a "making of book" of "SHOW ANOTHER BIG SHOW (2009 BIG BANG CONCERT MAKING BOOK" and "2010 BIG BANG CONCERT MAKING BOOK", and an original cellphone strap.

SHINee's Minho has the height and the muscles, but apparently not the strength to carry Kim ShinYoung.

This weekend's broadcast of MBC Chuseok special Idol star Athletics Championship showed your favorite idols running races and jumping hurdles among other games. Gag comedian ShinYoung was part of the women's 100M race, and she was doing just fine until she tumbled face down onto the ground.

Her idol friends surrounded her immediately, coming to her aid. Minho tried to offer his lifting services by hoisting the comedian on his back, only for his knees to buckle at the effort. Good thing Super Junior's Shindong was there to do the task.

[News] “Idol Star Athletics Championship” confirmed to return next year

MBC's "Idol Star Athletics Championship" will be back for next year's Chuseok holiday, but will be changing its theme into "Idol Swimming Championships".

MBC's representative revealed on the 28th, "We've decided to organize the 'Idol Special Championships' next year as well. It's something we've discussed ever since the program was still in its production stage. If viewers didn't show us so much support, we would've just considered it, but thankfully the response was substantial enough for us to decide to broadcast it every year. The show was competing against other dramas, but still managed to create a new viewer base with the teens."

He went on to state, "We are preparing a special swimming championship for next year."

Viewers seemed to be highly entertained seeing 130 of their favorite idols running around and enjoying their time with their friends. Seems like UEE got her wish granted for next year!

[News] Fans were touched by singer Taeyang, who presented his unique way of “double encore”

Taeyang who held his solo concert 'Solar' in the Seoul Kyunghee University Peace center on 26th September, gave visuals and sound enjoyment to more than 4500 fans who attended the concert.

Normally on concerts, whenever the last song has been performed, fans usually will shout for "Encore" continously and the singer himself will return back on stage to perform his encore song. But this is not a rule for all singers, they can choose whether to add that segment or not.

On that day, after perfoming his last song 'Only look at me', Taeyang went to the backstage. Fans started shouting "Encore" and Taeyang's real name "Dong Young Bae", to which Taeyang returned back to the stage to perform his encore songs "Where U at" and "Take It Slow", showing his effort in performing….

The concert was supposed to end right after the encore songs, Taeyang helds hands with the dancers to give their last bow and went backstage, the screen facing the audience even showed "End", but fans did not leave their seats, instead they started shouting again for "Encore", hoping that Taeyang will come back for another encore performance.

It became real indeed, Taeyang once again returned to the stage, the atmosphere immediately went high, the fans were touched by Taeyang's move. On the second encore stage, Taeyang performed "Only look at me" and "Take It Slow" again, telling the fans that it is really the last stage. Looking at the fans reaction, Taeyang's eyes were filled with tears.

"Solar" concert which was meant to end in 2 hours, ended in 2 hours 30 minutes because of the double encore stage. Fans stood up while cheering and clapping for the success.

[News] Avex Selling Of JYJ Calendar Despite Activity Suspension Provokes Fans

TVXQ's Japanese agency, Avex, has been under a bit of heat lately due to the release of a 2011 calendar featuring Jejung, Yuchun, and Junsu. The agency already declared that they would be halting all of JYJ's activities for now, thus making fans wonder why their products are still being sold if that was the case.

Avex began selling two versions of the JYJ 2011 calendar through music site "Mumo". Fans who have supported the trio's promotions are criticizing Avex as having double standards and being hypocritical. TVXQ fancafes and other entertainment forums have been posting criticisms like, "They're just trying to steal profit."

In their defense, Avex announced that all these products were already scheduled in advance and would be released regardless of the halt in activities. Yet the clarification is falling on deaf ears. "We are unable to understand why Avex would sell their products when they are not allowing them to promote," fans said, "Why are they tying down JYJ if they're going to continue selling their products?"

Avex halted the trio's Japanese promotions on the 16th, making it impossible for them to continue promoting until their lawsuit with SM Entertainment reaches a conclusion.
