Korean heartthrob Song Seung-heon has said that amongst Korean girl groups, he would like to dine with Girls' Generation, Kara, After School and f(x).

Song made the remark during a showcase celebrating the premiere of his film "The Invincible" on Monday while taking part in a o/x quiz session alongside other cast members Joo Jin-mo, Kim Kang-woo and Jo Han-sun.

In a separate question and answer session, the 33-year-old actor picked the hardest moments in shooting the film as being in the order of "the wait, my character from three years after, and the action scenes."

"Director Song Hae-seoh puts in a lot of effort into each cut in each scene so I ended up waiting for up to 15 hours for a single scene, I stopped filming for almost 20 days to portray my character Young-choon from three years later to practice smoking after having had a hard time quitting, and I was told to act out dangerous action scenes," the actor explained.

"The Invincible," a Korean remake of the Hong Kong classic "A Better Tomorrow," is set for a release on September 16 and has been officially invited to the 67th Venice International Film Festival.

Song has been one of Korea's hottest male actors since appearing in popular sitcom "Three Guys and Three Girls" (MBC, 1996) and has since starred in many television dramas and films including the smash hits "Autumn Tale" (KBS2, 2000), "Summer Scent" (KBS2, 2003) and "East of Eden" (MBC, 2008).

He is also set to make a comeback to the small screen later this year through TV series "My Princess" opposite top Korean actress Kim Tae-hee.

Kim Hyun Joong who stars across in MBC Playful Kiss drama is once again surrounded in acting criticism.

Some netizens felt that Kim Hyun Joong managed to perfectly portray his role as Baek Seung Jo, while some others thought that Kim Hyun Joong made no changes in his acting and felt kinda sad.

On the 1st September at 9.55pm, MBC Playful Kiss was aired. Kim Hyun Joong was playing across as his arrogant and tough character Baek Seung Jo. On this day's episode, Kim Hyun Joong's acting consisted mainy of facial and eye expressions. Because of that, some netizens felt that Kim Hyun Joong seemed to not have made any differences with his Yoon Jihoo character like in Boys over flowers.

In the drama, Baek Seung Jo is a genius of IQ 200 and above and is a genius at all kinds, yet one who lives only for himself and does not care about others around him. For this kind of character, in order to bring out the solidity in him, Kim Hyun Joong chose to show it through his facial and eye expressions more than words.

After the broadcast, audiences left comments on the noticeboard giving ratings for the drama, whilst also, there were both negative and positive feedbacks left regarding Kim Hyun Joong's acting.

A netizen said, "In terms of his manner of talking and expressions, it was totally Baek Seung Jo", showing her anticipation. Whilst another netizen, "Baek Seung Jo is totally~ ill bred/rude. I don't see Jihoo sunbae in anywhere at all. Very~~~handsome~~~" etc.

Jung Somin is in love with Baek Seung Jo one-sidedly in MBC Playful Kiss which began airing on 1st September 9.55pm.

Because Playful Kiss was adapted from the original manga, there seemed to be no exaggerations to her acting. Jung Somin portrayed her character just like the original manga.

The first performance of the 'Kim Junsu Musical Concert -Levay With Friends' was completely sold out in 20 minutes and once again showed off the ticket of power of Kim Junsu (Xiah Junsu).

According to EMK Musical, "When the tickets were released on reservation site Interpark at 9pm on the 1st, all the floor seats were sold out in 90 seconds and then all the rest of the seats were sold out in 20 minutes." It was said later that the large influx of fans also caused the server to crash, which caused great confusion.

This concert, which began when Mozart!'s composer Sylvester Levay gave Kim Junsu a love call, is said to be a high quality performance with the composer himself participating actively by conducting the orchestra and playing the piano.

EMK Musical said, "As there aren't many opportunities to hold a musical concert at the Sports Stadium, the biggest concert arena in Korea, we will create a performance that will appeal to the masses and introduce those who are unfamiliar with musicals to the genre."

In the press conference in Taiwan attended by distinguished guests, Park Jung Min said , "Very nervous to be standing in front of so many people after releasing the contents of the exclusive contract", and he further reiterated his commitment by saying , "Work harder in order to become a multi-faceted Park Jung Min who can expand horizons and work in various fields."

As all of us know, the SM Town Live Concert In LA would be held in 4 September.
This afternoon, All the SM artistes board the train to LA, getting ready 2 days before the concert.
They were spotted in the Incheon Airport, on their way to board the plane.

SHINee members took a photo together at the airport.

What's surprising is that there are a lot of comments coming from the fans, if you look closely, Jonghyun and Key were wearing the same shirt.
Netizens were saying "Jongkey couple shirt", "Look at Jonghyun & Key!", "Jongkey is real!", "I'm so jealous of how close they are".

Concert organiser says tickets for Super Junior's first S'pore concert will not be more than $300

KOREAN boy band Super Junior will hold a concert for the first time in Singapore in January.

Concert organiser Running Into The Sun, an affiliate of Fly Entertainment, told The New Paper it believes the concert production cost will exceed its initial budget of $1.5 million.And fans can expect an extravagant show along the likes of Aaron Kwok and Jay Chou as it's touted to be one of the most expensive concerts to be held here. (See report on facing page.)

Mr Terence Ang, 45, chief marketing officer for Fly Entertainment, said the Super Junior Super Show 3 here will follow the recent one held in Seoul as closely as possible, down to the stage design.

The popular group is known for its hit songs like Sorry, Sorry and Bonamana.

The group currently has 13 members but only 10 will perform at the concert. The other three are currently out of action as one is in national service, one is pursuing an acting career, and one is considering leaving the group.

But despite its high production cost, the concert, which will be held at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on Jan 29, will not mean sky-high ticket prices for fans.

Tickets, which will be on sale via Sistic from November, will not exceed $300, said Mr Ang.

A major highlight of the concert is the huge stage, which The New Paper understands will cost more than US$500,000 (S$679,000) to set up.

Mr Mac Chan, 40, project director for the concert, said the stage will have a unique design.

He was in Seoul to view the Super Show 3 on Aug 15.

'The usual concert stage allows only the audience in front to get close to the performers,' he said.

'But with Super Show 3, the stage will have runways leading out to form a circle.'

He added that there will be four standing mosh pits within the circle, a second stage in the centre and three raised platforms.

Mr Chan, who was the lighting director for the last two National Day Parades, said that the huge stage set-up will allow the 10 band members to appear at different locations during the show.


So far yet so close

This means even those seated at the back will be able to get up close and personal with their idols.

Miss Cheryl Han, in her 20s, a publicist for Fly Entertainment, agreed. She was at the Seoul concert too and sat in the upper section.

'In some concerts, you see only a small shadow of the performer but not with Super Junior. No matter where you sit, the boys come very close to you,' she said.

'They even 'flew' to (the audience sitting at the back) while wearing wire harnesses and threw confetti at the audience.

'If you are seated at the right spot, you can probably even touch them if you jump up.'

Miss Han added that the band members also appeared on raised wheeled platforms and were pushed along the aisles to get closer to the fans.

But whether the group will do the same stunts during its Singapore concert depends on whether it will be approved by the authorities here, said Mr Chan.

While the production team wants the stage in Singapore to be exactly the same as the one in Seoul, they have met with an obstacle.

The Singapore Indoor Stadium is rectangular while the Seoul concert venue is a perfect circle.

The former is also slightly smaller.

Mr Chan added: 'The Korean venue allowed the concert organisers to remove some of the seats to create the stage extensions, but we are not sure yet if this is possible with the Singapore Indoor Stadium.'

Super Junior supporter Miss Nor Hidayah Mohd Idris, 23, an editorial assistant, told The New Paper that she's very excited about the impending concert.

A fan for slightly more than a year, Miss Nor Hidayah has even travelled to Kuala Lumpur to watch the group's Super Show 2 in March. She spent about $500 in total.

When she was in Korea for a holiday in May, she made a trip to a radio station in Seoul to watch two Super Junior members record their radio show.

She also went to the group's music showcase here in June.

For the concert in January, she said she's willing to pay up to $250 for a ticket.

'I went on fan forums and blogs to view photos taken at the Super Show 3 (in Korea),' she said.

'It seems fun because it's interactive. The large stage is very good because they can interact with fans seated in different areas.

'But it also means that the members will be scattered and you won't get to see some members as often than if the stage is smaller.'


Superstars, super expensive

FORKING out at least $1.5 million to stage the Super Junior concert here seems like a huge risk.

Especially since concert organiser Running Into The Sun is a new kid on the block. The company, which has its beginnings as a special projects unit in Irene Ang's Fly Entertainment, was formed officially in July last year .

But Fly's chief marketing officer Terence Ang said they wanted to show that the company was able to handle a big-scale concert.

He added: 'There were initial concerns about the cost. But after we did the Super Junior showcase in June, we knew what kind of fans the group has and we are assured that we can bring in the concert.'

The Super Junior Galaxy Showcase, presented by Samsung and SingTel in June, gave away tickets with every purchase of a mobile phone. All 2,000 tickets were snapped up within hours, Mr Ang said.

He added that ticket-holders also queued 37 hours at the showcase venue so they could get the best spot at the free-standing event.

This is not the first concert organised by Running Into The Sun. It had previously organised the Swing Out Sister concert at East Coast Park last December, attended by about 1,000 people.

And as the special project unit in Fly, it had also organised shows such as the annual Vlee Conference, a stand-up comedy show which has been running since 2007.

Mr Ang said the Super Show 3 has already attracted more than five 'big sponsors', including a telecommunications company, a beverage company and a bank.

The $1.5 million bill does not include accommodation and food for the Korean entourage of 80, made up of artistes, dancers, designers, engineers, production crew, administrative staff, producers and security.

The hefty price tag has put Super Junior in the same league as big names like Hong Kong's Aaron Kwok, Taiwan's Jay Chou, Korea's Rain and British band Muse.

Director of Scorpio East Productions Adeline Low, in her late 30s, told The New Paper that Chou's recent The Era 2010 World Tour in July had cost more than $2 million.

The sum included concert production costs, advertising and promotions, air tickets, accommodation and food.

Aaron Kwok's De Show Reel concert in May last year cost more than $1 million, she added.

Scorpio East Productions had organised both concerts.

Singer and actor Kim Min-jong has evaluated Super Junior member Choi Si-won as having much potential as possibility as an actor.

Kim made the remark during a showcase on Monday for upcoming TV series "Athena," the spin-off to last year's hit show "IRIS," in which the two appear alongside a star-studded cast also including Jung Woo-sung, Cha Seung-won, Soo Ae, E Ji-ah and Kim Seung-woo.

"He's doing so well that he's an actor whose future I look forward to more than his present," complimented Kim. "He reminds me of my own past, when I see him doing well at sports and music, as well as having a good determination for acting."

Choi explained, "I think I'll be able to act with my mind at ease and not be nervous because I had been pressured about having to act but everyone has been treating me as if I'm their sibling or nephew....... The members of Super Junior are jealous of me getting to work with them." Choi explained.

"Athena," set to go on air starting November, will be about terrorist acts and threats against the Korean Peninsula and the whole world.

The drama will be shot in various locations throughout the world such as Italy, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore and Switzerland.

A 'face recognition' program which allows you to find a celebrity who looks like you, is a program which can be installed on various smart phones and when you upload a picture of yourself, it automatically finds pictures of celebrities you look like.

When challenging this 'face recognition' program to see if there are any pictures that it can recognize 100%, the results beg to differ and there have been times when it humiliates the celebrities themselves.

The celebrities that the program has recognized 100% are 2AM's Jokwon, BoA, Park Han Byul, and 2PM's Junho.

FT Island reveals the most impressionable gift from their fans.

FT Island was recently present for the filming of 2TV Star GoldenBell where they talked about stories when they were promoting in Japan.

MC Ji SeokJin asked, "Is there any unique gift from fans?" And JongHoon replied, "We once received a life size female mannequin. I guess the fan gave it to us thinking that we should be lonely while doing promotions overseas, but we didn't know what to do with the mannequin."

He continued, "Until now, the doll is still in HongKi's room." And HongKi confessed, "I even once combed her hair."


Eun JiWon then commented, "Please lend that mannequin to Ji SeokJin," which had everyone laughing.

Meanwhile, the boys also talked about other interesting episodes on the show including how JongHoon and SeungHyun revealed, "Lee HongKi threatened the members that he would film down when they are showering" which got the comment from Shin JungHwa, "It seems FT Island has so much time".

Korean idol girl group SNSD are not only performing in the Taipei Arena for the first time, but even Super Junior's Leeteuk and Donghae have decided to come along to the concert in Taipei on October 16; no matter if it is interacting or performing, it will definitely become a hot topic. [News] New 6-member idol group Dalmatian, groomed by MC Mong, debuts officially!

Rookie -member idol group Dalmatian's 1st digital single 'Round 1′ is officially released on 1st September.
The group is said to be the collaboration production between MC Mong and Jo YeongSoo after 'Bubble', and the lyrics are written by Dalmatian Day Day and other members.

The group consists of Inati, DayDay, Dari, Jisu, Drama and YoungWon. It is known that all members have trained up to 5 years for their singer debut. In addition, the group took 6 years in preparation with MC Mong involved in the planning.


Dalmatian will have their debut stage on 2nd September on Mnet M!Countdown and will also be performing on KBS Music Bank and SBS Inkigayo.

Singer Lee Hyori is signed as the model for soju brand 'CheoEum CheoReom' for the 6th time.
According to an official from Lotte Beverages, "We have signed with Lee Hyori for her to endorse CheoEum CheoReom for the 6th time." This will be the 3rd year that Lee Hyori will be endorsing the brand.
The new CF was revealed on 1st September. The official also added, "Through the campaign 'Shake Campaign' we did for the past 3 years, we see the popularization of 'hwei-oh-ri wine' by shaking the wine and the name of 'Hyori win'. These are the reasons why we decided to sign on with Lee Hyori."
