Hyunbin’s last project before the army Posted: 10 Sep 2010 01:29 PM PDT Actor Hyunbin has announced his plans to star in a movie before he enlists in the army. There has been speculation on when his enlistment date is but we can safely assume it will be soon after he finishes filming… It is a low budget film directed by Lee Yoon-ki (My Dear Enemy) and will co-star Im Soo-jung. Although the film is not yet titled, the story revolves around a separated couple and shooting will begin mid-September and is planned to only take 2 weeks to complete. This may be Hyunbin’s last film project before the army but there is a good chance he might be in a drama as well. Last month, a rep from Hyunbin’s agency stated that he is expected to take lead in SBS's ‘Secret Garden’ following the movie. If Hyunbin takes the role, he will star alongside Ha Ji-won. Whatever project he decides to participate in, no doubt he will make a lasting impression before enlisting. All the best luck to Hyunbin! |
Posted: 10 Sep 2010 11:33 AM PDT but we do… As we all know, CN Blue made their debut in Japan. Then they brought their indie sound to Korea and soared to the top with “I’m a Loner” and “LOVE.” They already thanked their fans in Japan by releasing a Japanese/English album titled “ThankU.” But it seems like it wasn’t enough as the group will release another Japanese single. The band will release two singles titled “I Don’t Know Why” and “Lies.” It has been reported that “Lies” will be their title track. CN Blue will further show their gratitude by having a live tour all over Japan. CN Blue really know the definition of fan-service. Let’s continue to cheer for them and their ongoing success! “I Don’t Know Why” Preview! |

POLL: Most anticipated 2010 comeback is… Posted: 10 Sep 2010 10:44 AM PDT Drum rollllllll~~~~
Korean music portal site Monkey3 recently asked, “Whose comeback are you most anticipated for in 2010?” Well, it was a no-brainer as 2NE1 took the top place! 2Ne1 took 31% of the votes. They literally have people on the edge of their seats waiting for their comeback. In second was Beast (14%), who are also in the midst of making a comeback once lead vocalist Yoseob heals from his throat surgery. In third is legendary group 1TYM (14%) who are preparing for their 6th album. Fourth was Sung Shi Gyung (12 %) who recently came back from the army. Fifth and sixth were Park Hyo Shin (10%) and Yang Dong Geun (7%), respectively. Currently, 2NE1′s three title tracks (Go Away, Can’t Nobody, and Clap Your Hands) are placed first, second, and third on their music chart. We want to hear from YOU too! |
Posted: 10 Sep 2010 10:12 AM PDT She’s back!
Singer Lim Jeong Hee is set to release a comeback album on the 30th titled “It Can’t Be Real.” Yesterday, she revealed album jacket photos and boy, does she look stunning or what! The girl who used to rock the street-like image with braided hair and hip-hop outfits is coming back as a matured, sexier woman. One of her new songs is set to drop on the 15th. I think the K-Pop world needs a singer like Lim Jeong Hee to change the atmosphere a bit. Are you excited for her comeback? |
Tae-yang states: “I myself wasn’t happy anymore” Posted: 10 Sep 2010 06:25 AM PDT Does he really “need a girl” like one of his hit songs implied this year?
Well, POPSEOUL has found the best excerpts of the interview just for you our dedicated readers. Sit back and enjoy Tae-yang’s interview with 10 Asia and find out what he is talking about. Have you become able to do music for yourself rather than music for music? Tae-yang: That’s the answer I found. I did music because I needed to become happy. But it turned out I myself wasn’t happy anymore because I kept worrying over such issues and I was becoming someone who relies solely on music without having any other life. Why is music so important to you? Tae-yang: This was how it was from the very beginning but to me, doing music in itself is very important. There’s a part of me that is extremely shy when it comes to expressing something or showing my emotions to people. Since I was young, if I feel something I would keep it inside me and think about it deeply. And music was important in that it helped me feel those emotions. There were many times when I was moved and felt emotions through music rather than by meeting people. Because I could feel or express many emotions without having to experience them directly. That’s why I do music, I can express my emotions the most when I’m on stage, and show myself as I am to the fullest. This album definitely seems to stray away from the trend of Korean music these days. But aren’t you worried? You said you wanted to do music where you can sing delicately within a fixed rhythm and gradually create an elegant bounce but that’s not the popular style in Korea. Tae-yang: I do think that the music I seek to do is actually quite far from what’s popular right now. And in a review, I read I was similar to some musician overseas, so that was frustrating as well because this is an album I made not thinking of any of that. I just went with how I feel. My goal is to do music which I am best at doing and that which sounds the best when done by me. Looking down the road, I also want to show not just Korea but the world that there is a singer who can do such music and sing such songs. I still decided to go with “I Need a Girl” for the title track though because it could reach out to the more common public. You used to say that acknowledging yourself is important but now it seems that having confidence in yourself has become more important. Tae-yang: Yes. I have to know myself better and become confident. Is there anything you have found out about yourself while working on this album? *All credits go to 10 asia for the interview questions and responses. |

JYPE artists in line for an October comeback Posted: 09 Sep 2010 09:32 PM PDT Get ready for the artists of JYP Entertainment to make their comebacks in October! 2AM, 2PM and Miss A are set to release new albums in the same month… 2AM will be making their comeback with their first full-length album in late October! which is exiting because even though they have been active for 2 years, they have only released singles and mini-albums. They rose to popularity in the first half of 2010 with their hit tracks, "Can't Send You Away Even If I Die" and "I Did Wrong.” 2PM is also back in October, most likely with a mini-album. This will be their first since releasing “Without You” in April. Miss A debuted in July with their hit song, “Good Girl Bad Girl” and they are set to release a new mini-album by early October that will be more “powerful and stylish.” (hopefully they are more powerful and stylish to set them apart from all the girl groups out there…) So there you have it- a lineup of JYPE artists all making their comebacks in October. Who are you looking forward to the most? |
