[News] Lee Hyori Sued By Interpark For $500K

Online fashion website Interpark has reportedly filed for a $500,000 lawsuit against singer Lee Hyori with the argument that her actions as a singer had enormous negative impacts on its business.

Back in June, singer Lee Hyori publicly admitted to plagiarizing for the majority of her songs in her fourth album, which was released in the beginning of the year. Soon thereafter, Lee Hyori abruptly discontinued her activities as a singer, as well as stopped modeling for the internet fashion website, Interpark, for whom she renewed a contract with last August.

Representatives of Interpark stated, "Due to the collapse of Lee Hyori's bright and respectable public image, the financial losses and damages to our company have been unbelievable. A mere calculation of the ramifications of Lee Hyori's early and illegal termination of her contract, as well as our inability to have her as our model already comes out to 492,880,000 Won (~$500,000). As soon as we have a more detailed and accurate calculation, we'll add to that amount."


It seems as though one of Korea's original female idols is going to have a hard time getting out of this one.

Super Junior member Kim Heechul has revealed the latest photo of the fellowship "Chocoball".

On the 12th of September, Kim Heechul posted a photo along with the message "Choi Jonghun, Natssun, Jo Sungmo, Jang Geunsuk, me, Lee Hongki, Sangchu.. lately there are many places where you can find Chocoball ㅋㅋㅋ" on his Twitter.

On the 16th at 8:30PM, 2NE1 will be hosting the world's first music video 4D plex showcase at the Seoul Yongsan CGV.
On this day, 2NE1 will be showing the music videos of the 3 title songs on their first full length album, Can't Nobody', 'Go Away', and 'Clap Your Hands'.

Group MBLAQ's Lee Joon revealed his plans for kids.

[NEWS] “COMEBACK”- 2NE1 is no longer a typical girl group

09/12 – In SBS' live broadcast "Inkigayo", 2NE1 gave everyone a performance that surpassed the levels of recent female groups.

In fact, compared with other groups, 2NE1's comeback stage that day was on an entirely different level. They performed their three title tracks: CLAP YOUR HANDS, GO AWAY, and CAN'T NOBODY.


In CLAP YOUR HANDS, they showed off outfits and styles that reminded us of female warriors.  Their strong punk looks and tattoos were very compatible with 2NE1's image. Because the sentence "Clap Your Hands" was included in the lyrics, the melody of the chorus and the choreography of the claps are very addicting and have the potential to be viral.

With GO AWAY the girls become more animated and cool, exuding the energy that is uniquely 2NE1's. Just like in the lyrics: telling the boyfriend who has just left her that "I will meet a guy who's better than you", they showed a brisk and creative dance performance.

They showed an intense and colorful stage with CAN'T NOBODY. The song, with strong electronic sounds, showed off the girls' voices. The conflicting and repetitive "I'm so bad bad and I'm so good good" also have strong viral potential.

2NE1, who debuted last May 2009 with their mini-album "FIRE", armed themselves with personalities and music that were out of the ordinary. Although we can partly attribute this to the efforts of YG Entertainment, but capturing and securing the public's interest and support should be credited solely to the members' hard work and determination.

Although there were negative criticisms, there were very few or almost none that voiced great disappointment with their three performances in their comeback stage. As I was writing this article they moved from 59 then 42 then 38 and now 37, Blackjacks I LOVE YOU! Moreover, all SIX of their new songs are maintaining top ten spots on the Korean music charts.

Rest assured, DESPITE what some media outlets are reporting, 2ne1 is having just about as successful a comeback as possible.

In Pop Girl Contest's December poll, participants were surveyed from August 30 until September 6, in which 336 people were asked "Who do you think the sexiest pop girl is?" The results of the survey were as followíng: HyunA (149 respondents, 44.3%) in first place, and KARA's Nicole (94 respondents, 27.9%), Brown Eyed Girls' GaIn (81 respondents, 24%) in 2nd and 3rd places respectively.

HyunA was selected by the general public due to the clout surrounding her abilities and tempting charms. "HyunA's powerful passion and dance skills, in addition to her frank and charming manner have caused many to have an affinity for her," said a Pop Girl Contest representative.

[NEWS] T.O.P invited to “Into the Fire” Red Carpet Event in Hawaii

Taewon Entertainment revealed back on June 15th that Korean War block-buster, "Into the Fire" had been chosen as the closing film at the Hawaii International Film Festival, the date of showing is now set, October 22nd.

"Into the Fire" starring Cha Seung Won, Kim Seung Woo, Kwong Sang Woo and Choi Seung Hyun (TOP of Big Bang) is about the life 71 innocent student soldiers who sacrificed their lives in a fight against North Korea.

The "Hawaii International Film Festival" will begin on October 14th and end on October 22nd, with "Into the Fire" as the closing movie at the Honolulu Dole Cannery 18 theater.

That same night, the main cast of "Into the Fire" as well as the director, have been invited to the red carpet event held in Hawaii as special guests. This will be the 30th annual film festival held in the Hawaii and a wide range of movies are expected, amongst which, "Into the Fire" will be representing South Korea.
