The Hallyu wave is in Boom in Japan with korean girl group's leading it's way writing history with their achievements

KARA and SNSD has showed impressive debuts in Japan as they both earned Gold Disc's from the Recording Industry Association of Japan.

KARA earned their Gold with their first album released in Japan "KARA BEST 2007-2010" which was released on the 29th of September in Japan after which now it has sold over 100,000 earning Gold in status. SNSD also received their first Gold with their first Japanese Single "Genie".

Their albums and singles has sold over 100,000 copies being awarded certified Gold showing impressive album sales and popularity in Japan where this achievement is hard for rookie's to achieve in Japan.

KARA's best album included their songs since their debut in Korea in 2007, their album was also a hit with 12 songs from the album making it to the 'iTunes' Japan top downloaded songs.

Also, on it's first week of release, their album reached 50,000 of album sales ranking them first on the Oricon Weekly album chart showing a heated reaction from the Japanese fans.

They are the first Kpop girl group to receive a gold status on an album released in Japan. SNSD also was the first girl group to reach gold with their debut single "Genie" making it history for both korean girl groups.



SNSD also reached their 2nd Gold with their 2nd Japanese Single "Gee" reaching 102,881 album sales after three weeks upon release showing a very impressive sales coming from a new comer in the Japanese market.

This is SNSD's second consecutive Gold making an impressive record with their Japanese releases. KARA and SNSD debuted almost at the same time in Japan each having their own 100,000 copies sold and Gold's showing their high popularity in Japan.

SNSD and KARA are both having their record winning streak showing fierce competition between the Japanese Girl Groups. KARA released their 2nd Japanese Single "Jumping" on the 10th of November releasing it both in Korean and Japan simultaneously, also 4minute will be releasing their 3rd Japanese Single "Dreams come true" on the 27th of November also showing great popularity.

SNSD also are promoting both in Korea and Japan, They recently released a new mini album and promoting their hit song "Hoot" now.

FT Island's former member is coming to make a solo debut.

After two years of silence, Oh Won Bin will be making a comeback as a solo artist with his new digital single "I love you, I love you" that will be released on Midnight November 11 on online music sites.

His new song "I love you, I love you" has a nice orchestra feel with it with the instruments making a good blend with a medium tempo melody.

Won Bin will be making a comeback and has been preparing a lot for his solo debut, many fans are showing interest on his solo ventures and he is practicing his singing and dancing a lot to show a good stage on his solo debut.

He will have his first stage on the 12th of November in KBS Music Bank.

[news] The KARA Syndrome hits Japan once again with their 2nd Japanese Single debuting 5th on Oricon Chart

KARA is once again hitting Japan by storm for the second time around!

Their 2nd Japanese Single "Jumping" was released on the 10th of November and on it's release it debuted 5th on the Oricon Daily Singles chart. Their first Japanese Single "Mister" also debuted 5th on the Oricon Singles chart, and KARA hit's the same impressive record with the release of their new single.

"Jumping" is an 80's Europop song with a mix of contemporary dance pop also KARA showed powerful vocals and choreography with nice outfits on their music video showing a modern and hip atmosphere, also they released the Korean version of their single simultaneously in Japan and Korea.

KARA are receiving new records and with their Japanese debut, they have been gaining a lot of fans not only in Japan but also in Korea as more people in Korea are turning their interest to them.

Also, their first album released in Japan "KARA BEST 2007-2010" was ranked gold selling over 100,000 copies since it was released on the 29th of September.

KARA's Park Gyuri is also well known and called a "Goddess" in Japan!

On the 9th of November broadcast of SBS "Strong Heart", Member Kang JiYoung shared a story about Park Gyuri while they were staying in Japan. In Japan, they were preparing themselves on simple proper greetings to Japanese, and she revealed how Gyuri prepared her own introduction in Japanese.

While they were practicing their greetings, it turned out that Park Gyuri was practicing her greetings that were far from simple, her lines would be "I am the Goddess Gyuri, I am overflowing with grace, I am a shining goddess that no one can outshine" JiYoung revealed.

Gyuri is already well known as referring to herself and being called a "Goddess" in Korea also, she is also referred to as a Goddess in Japan.

Meanwhile, HOT member Tony revealed that he is a fan of Park Gyuri.

On the 11th of November broadcast of KBS "Happy Together", SNSD member Seohyun revealed her fellow member's sleeping habits.

On the show, she revealed Taeyeon, Soo Young and Yuri's reactions when she tries to wake them up, she said, "Being the maknae of the group, I am usually the one who wakes up first and I wake up the other members."

"When I turn on the lights in our room, Yuri will tell me to turn it off, Tiffany will say that she get up but it never happens. It is Soo Young who is easy to wake up but there was a time where she hurt me when she sleep talked to me and said 'Oh, I know why you do not take good care of yourself'" she revealed.

After this, Soo Young was flustered and said "I do not remember saying those" apologizing to SeoHyun. Soo Young and Yuri's sleeping habbits were the most interesting and the revelation made the audience laugh.

Goo Hara from KARA and Narsha from Brown Eyed Girls will be having a one week absence on Invincible Youth.

On the 19th of November broadcast of KBS "Invincible Youth" the two idols will not be appearing due to their busy schedule in Japan for the week which conflicts with the show's recording.

A representative said on the 10th, "Goo Hara and Narsha will be taking a week of absence on Invincible Youth due to their activities in Japan. They will be attending a K-pop concert in Japan in which the event overlaps the recording schedule. Goo Hara with KARA will be coming back to Korea on the 15th but they will be taking a rest and we cannot rush things."

However, new things will be shown in the show in their new episode showing the unique athletic abilities of the members.

[News] BoA’s mother speaks on how BoA nearly died twice!

Earlier this week, we reported on how BoA was scouted by over 15 companies before signing with SM Entertainment. BoA's mother spoke out about how she raised her children, the reasons as to why BoA signed with SM Entertainment, and how BoA was scouted to begin with. BoA recently celebrated her 10th year with SM Entertainment. Read the full story on why BoA chose SM Entertainment over 15 other companies


Now, BoA's mother speaks out again, but this time, it is the story of how BoA escaped death twice in her lifetime. How close were we to not seeing great hits such as 'Amazing Kiss' and 'Hurricane Venus'? Too close for comfort!

On September 10th, 2008 BoA was wearing a cast on her left arm when she appeared at the press conference to announce her entry into the American market. Although BoA entered the press conference with a bright expression as though it was nothing to be concerned about, in reality the condition of the arm inside the cast was more serious than people thought.

When BoA was only 5 years old, her mother and father were operating a ranch in the Namyang Province. Although BoA cried and adamantly refused to go with her parents, her mother brought her along as she did not want to leave BoA at home alone.

As BoA's father was holding a wooden post to put up a column at the ranch, he lost his grasp. He was exchanging small talk with a guest, who was visiting the ranch. BoA, who had been standing by her father's side watching, was hit on the forehead by the post and immediately collapsed, bleeding.

BoA's mother admits that she "thought BoA had died." She continues on to say, "That's when I very clearly realized that I have to listen to the things my children say. If BoA had died then, I would have endured heartache my entire life. As I watched her thankfully survive, I felt that I should allow my children to do as they wished."

BoA suffered a severe injury during this incident, as blood streamed down her face as she fell, the white bone of her forehead was visible. Her parents, shocked and unable to breathe, thought that their daughter was dead. However, BoA suddenly bounced up and screeched, "I'm going to die!". They immediately rushed her to a hospital, where she received 17 stitches to her forehead.

While this incident was the most serious of the two, her second near-death experience came much later in her life. In 2008, before holding a press conference for her debut into the American industry, BoA had another accident. She tripped on a staircase and had to attend the conference with a cast on her left arm.

Her mother showed extreme concern when recalling her daughter's injury, saying, "When she injured her arm, the doctor was unable to properly anesthetize her. She had to endure the pain and be anesthetized again." She continued on to say that "others spoke dismissively of it, asking why she was overreacting to a injury so minor."

The injury, as minor as it might have seemed, was in reality a very serious injury. BoA had to have major surgery in 2009 to drive a metal pin into her arm due to the fall.

Her mother explains that all she sees when BoA is on stage is "the scar on her forehead she received as a kid. In a mother's eyes, only the things that others do not see are visible. Even when others see BoA's impressive image, all I can think about is the pain and effort that she has put forth."

Do you feel as if you know BoA a bit better now? It's hard to imagine a K-pop industry without BoA! We hope she will be more careful in the future and that no harm comes to her.

First photo of Super Junior Donghae from the set of new SBS drama It's okay, Daddy's Daughter was revealed.

In It's okay, Daddy's Daughter, Donghae plays the younger brother of the main character, Choi Hyuk Gi (played by Choi Jin Hyuk) who takes leave of absence from the school to earn money for his family.

In the photo that was revealed on the 10th, Donghae portrays the character Choi Wook Gi who's working hard at a construction site. In the photo, Donghae shows off his good looks even though he is wearing work clothes and a safety hat.

Also, people can feel Donghae's determination in trying to transform himself as Choi Wook Gi that it is raising people's expectation in his portrayal.

Fans who saw the photo commented, "he has great genes that he can shine in such a place. He can't hide his handsome look even if he wears clothes like that. After seeing the photo, I'm looking forward to the drama."

Taiwan popular idol-Eddie Peng, Korean popular boyband 2PM member-Nichkhun and Thailand super star-Pancake were invited to the pre-launch event of Thailand's ZEN department store in Shenyang, China. The event will be held on 10 Nov 2010, 2PM. On the same day, they will also be attending a fashion show at Crown Plaza Shenyang Park View at 7PM. The first 50 people to reach will be given invitation to attend.
