MAMA Awards Is Crumbling To Pieces?

Posted: 21 Nov 2010 10:03 PM PST

Things just seem to get worse and worse as the days pass.

As we had reported Rain would be not attending the 2010 MAMA Awards but since then things have gotten worse as more artists have confirmed they also will not attending.

Held every year, the Mnet Asia Music Awards (MAMA) is one of the most important award shows for K-pop artists. However,  no one seems to care this year as nearly all of the major music labels have dropped out from attending.

Why? Well, maybe because the award show will be held in Macau. Who would want to fly all the way over to a random place that has no significance to kpop. This is money out of the artists pockets. The time spent on the 4 – 5 hour plane ride to the gambling island can be better spent earning money in Korea.

Since then, 2 more companies: DSP Entertainment as well as Core Content Media have announced their artists will also not be attending

Check out the list below so far of all the no-shows

SM Entertainment
Super Junior
Girls Generation
SHINee
f(x)

J.Tune Entertainment
Rain
MBLAQ

Pledis Entertainment
After School
Son Dambi

Core Contents Media
T-ara
Davichi

DSP Entertainment
KARA

Cube
4minute
BEAST
G.Na

FNC Music
CN Blue

Some of the awards have even already been defaulted to the remaining nominee due to the high amount of artists who will not attend.

This is seriously turning  out to be humiliating for the MAMA Awards to not only have most  idols not attend but to have to give out awards because of the lack of attendance.

Will you be watching the 2010 MAMA Awards next week?

2NE1 To End Promotions

Posted: 21 Nov 2010 09:31 PM PST

As much as it hurts, all good things must come to an end for 2NE1

After beginning their “It Hurts” promotion on Halloween, 2NE1 will officially end all their promotions for their 1st album, “To Anyone.”

The album released in September became a major hit topping the charts for nearly 3 weeks at no.1. At the same time, tracks, “Can’t Nodody,” “Go Away,” and “Clap Your Hands” have yet to be knocked down from the music charts.

2NE1 will end their promotions on tv program, “Music Core” in 20th but we can expect to see them perform one last time at the 2010 MAMA Awards on November 28 in Macau.
