Han Ga-in goes blonde for Bazaar Posted: 20 Nov 2010 05:17 AM PST Actress Han Ga-in (Bad Guy) makes a drastic change for a photo shoot in Bazaar — she’s usually known for her pure, pretty image — by going for rumply blonde hair and a fashion style that can be described as woodland-nymph-meets-urban-fashionista-meets-couture-muse-meets-gothic-prairie-girl. Completely random looks, and yet, the photo shoot is a little bit ethereal and totally beautiful. Interesting that these photos come from this month’s issue of Bazaar, yet are being pushed into the media spotlight only now. (Usually we see these previews crop up just before a magazine hits newsstands.) Still, you’ve gotta love this time of the month when we see all the teasers of upcoming photo spreads in a bid to entice readers into buying copies with their pretty, pretty pictures. (Hey, given the response to Yoo Ah-in’s latest photo shoots, I’d say the tactic is working.) (...) © javabeans for Dramabeans, 2010. | Permalink | 10 comments | Add to del.icio.us |
Posted: 19 Nov 2010 08:35 PM PST The picture above isn’t really a spoiler right? I mean, come on – they already kissed. I think it’s safe to say that I’m going to be sad about this drama ending. I truly enjoyed recapping this drama; I think “underdog” dramas are my thing… Once again, thanks very much to javabeans and girlfriday for letting me recap on this site. And a HUGE thanks to my writing chingu aberdeen_angus. We march on! Fanmade City Hunter posters are lookin’ good Posted: 19 Nov 2010 04:35 PM PST Lee Min-ho’s drama City Hunter is still months away from premiering, but already fans are abuzz with anticipation and have taken to their Photoshop with fervor, creating some nifty-looking mock posters. Frankly they’re pretty damn good, much like the fanmade posters for Mary Stayed Out All Night, which I thought were even better than the official set. It’s amazing how much you can do with a few photos, a keen eye, and some creativity. (...) © javabeans for Dramabeans, 2010. | Permalink | 32 comments | Add to del.icio.us |
Runaway: On the run for four more episodes? Posted: 19 Nov 2010 12:19 PM PST Looks like Runaway: Plan B is gearing up for a possible extension, upping the episode count from 20, to 24. It’s somewhat surprising that KBS wants to extend, given that the ratings aren’t exactly where they’d like, for such a star-studded cast and big-budget production. But the middling ratings (hovering around 12.2% this week, TNS) aren’t the only factor in greenlighting the extension. For one, the drama has a loyal and vocal fanbase (Rain fans are no joke) and it’s being praised for the overall story and look, described as “fresh.” I don’t think that the look is all that new, but I do enjoy the tone of it, now that we’re actually in the thick of Ji-woo’s emotional journey. (Whereas the first few episodes just focused on the slick, thereby losing a good chunk of the audience, methinks.)
