Jung Il-woo gives theater production a try Posted: 07 Nov 2010 05:22 AM PST Jung Il-woo has been making a concerted effort to get serious about his acting, whether it’s from immersion in in-depth character analysis or broadening his horizons with theater work. He took on a role in a stage play earlier this year portraying a gay man with AIDS in Beautiful Sunday, and is taking another step into the theater biz as producer/planner for an upcoming stage play. The project is Hanyang University Theater and Film department’s 50-year anniversary production as they put on Shakespeare’s Hamlet, and Jung will be in charge of administrative and production for the first half. He matriculated at the school in 2008, and will be joined by fellow celebs and students/alums Yang Mi-ra (Three Sisters) and Ji Sung (Swallow the Sun). A rep from Jung’s management company, N.O.A Entertainment, explained, “After acting in the stage play Beautiful Sunday in March, Jung has developed a lot of interest in theater. He has taken on a leading role in an event that is important to the school. Jung Il-woo was in the 2006 entrance class of Seoul Arts University, and is a latecomer to Hanyang University. Because of that, he is taking an even more active role in school affairs." The production of Hamlet will run from November 23 to 26, and will be open to the public. Well, I’d rather see the Jung Il-woo in front of the curtain (so pretty, in an elegant sort of way, and that’s not even counting his bygone Mane of Glory) rather than behind the scenes, but I do have a major noona-crush on him, so I’ll take what I can get. Now to get crackin’ with the hoodoo incantations to bring him back to dramaland… Via IS Plus RELATED POSTS

Posted: 06 Nov 2010 08:40 PM PDT OH the emotional angst! Well, all I can assure is that Ji Heon does not jump off the ledge. (Was I the only one who was afraid of that happening to some degree?) However, he does jump off a cliff and tumbles down into an emotional black hole. Poor guy. Sorry aberdeen_angus, I can’t fix the problem with this episode. Spoiler: Dr. Champ starts raising the stakes Posted: 06 Nov 2010 04:04 PM PDT If you’ve been watching Monday-Tuesday sports-medical drama Dr. Champ, then you’ve been waiting for this as long as I have. I normally don’t do spoilers, but I honestly couldn’t help myself. This one’s too cute. But I’m warning you: Proceed at your own risk. SPOILERS AHEAD. Seriously. Turn back now. It’s for your own good. If you have ANY self-restraint, you will stop now, and be pleasantly surprised next week. I swear, you will be. It’ll be better that way. Honest. Don’t say I didn’t warn you, and don’t tell me I ruined it all, because I’m telling you right now, to walk away and never look back. Yoon Eun-hye considers Minidress for next film Posted: 06 Nov 2010 10:30 AM PDT Yoon Eun-hye has had her next television role lined up for a while — anticipated melodrama Love Song — but production has hit some delays after the passing of its lead actor Park Yong-ha. So there’s a possibility that we may see Yoon in a different role before that, as she is reportedly in contention for a film role, starring in a project titled My Black Minidress. I wouldn’t get too excited about it yet, because her management has given an evasive non-answer regarding her casting status, but she appears to be in the process of thinking it over. As you might be able to surmise from the title, the movie is a chick-lit-y type of project, though a bit more realistic than the chick-lit norm with more relatable characters. It tells a “frank and lively story about the reality of 20-something women” that is characterized by a bright sense of humor, and has been noted for its witty style, literary sensibility, and well-developed plot. If Yoon Eun-hye signs on, this would be her first foray into film in four years; her last was 2006′s Escaping from Christmas. It’ll be produced by Tory Pictures, the same production house that put out the recent thriller Bedevilled starring Seo Young-hee. Directing is Heo In-moo of Love So Divine and Herb. My Black Minidress is scheduled to begin shooting in early December, and is aiming for a release in the first half of 2011. Frankly, I think an actress like Yoon is much better suited for dramas, where she can dive into a character and really inhabit a role for a while. Hopefully the stalled Love Song can get back on its feet soon and make some progress, since it would be a shame to scrap it now. Via OSEN RELATED POSTS
