| Sungkyunkwan Scandal: Episode 18 Posted: 04 Nov 2010 08:22 PM PDT Dear beloved readers, I want to address the issue of there possibly being a second season to SKK Scandal. I, for one, am against the idea. Don’t get me wrong, I would love to see more of our Jal-geum Quartet, as well as the other wonderful characters of this gem of a drama. But I feel the intensity and dramatic oomph of the first season would be lost – unless the focus were switched entirely to, say, Jae-shin or Yong-ha and away from Yoon-hee and Sun-joon. Or if the series were made into more fluff. Either way, I think the series would lose some of its charm. Besides, most sequels tend to, err, flop. If there is to be a continuation of some sort, I vote for a movie. That would keep the narrative tight as well as retain the essence of the series. Anyone want to start a petition with me? Love, red pill PS. I know the above picture is kind of random, but for some reason I am in love with that shot. Maybe it’s the lighting, maybe it’s the chess pieces that are all in disarray, or maybe it’s that that hand belongs to Jae-shin. All in all, it’s beautiful. | Hollywood screenwriter acts in Athena Posted: 04 Nov 2010 03:59 PM PDT Er… I can’t be the only one who finds this news random. The production company of upcoming spy drama Athena: Goddess of War has announced that a famous Hollywood screenwriter will be acting in the drama: It’s Douglas Day Stewart of 1980s hits The Blue Lagoon and An Officer and a Gentleman. In the drama, Stewart plays the head of Athena, which, like IRIS in the original series IRIS, is a secret underground organization. He’s therefore the “key to the secret” in a number of cases; he’s also the fierce, poker-faced boss who gives baddie Cha Seung-won his orders, which explains the stills pictured here. | Tough guy Chun Jung-myung races toward freedom Posted: 04 Nov 2010 10:30 AM PDT Apparently this latest tough-guy shoot for Chun Jung-myung is a “180 degree transformation” for him… although we saw him being all tough and macho in this Vogue spread not terribly long ago, which was itself supposed to be another 180 degree turn from his previous smiley, pleasant image. So 180 degrees + 180 degrees = change? And here I thought 360 got ya back to the beginning. Even if I do suck at math.
