New weekend drama Believe in Love Posted: 27 Nov 2010 06:08 AM PST The team behind last year’s hit family drama Sons of Sol Pharmacy (PD Lee Jae-sang and writer Jo Jung-sun) are taking on another weekend family drama, to bring in the new year. Hearts? Prepare to be warmed. The drama is called Believe in Love (or I Believe in Love), and centers around the bustling family of a vice principal at an all-boys’ high school, played by Song Jae-ho (currently playing the Eeeevil mastermind bad guy in Runaway Plan B). His first son will be played by Lee Jae-ryong (pictured below), from Did We Really Love and Goodbye Solo, who also happens to have been in the first k-drama that I ever watched, the 55-episode family drama What is Love, which soared to 64% ratings back in 1991 (eeep!), when such things were possible. More awards! The Blue Dragon Film Awards took place on November 26, and the many of the same films that have been winning lately were rewarded once again: Some of the big winners were for films such as crime drama Moss, dark thriller I Saw the Devil, romantic comedy Cyrano Dating Agency, stark action movie Ajusshi, and the much-lauded Poetry. Kang Dong-won and Song Kang-ho’s Secret Reunion prevailed to win best picture over nominees Ajusshi, The Housemaid, Moss, and Jeon Woo Chi. Ha Ji-won’s mini fashion show for Secret Garden Posted: 26 Nov 2010 03:05 PM PST [NOT REALLY SPOILERY, BUT....] As you can see from these cheery behind-the-scenes shots, Ha Ji-won puts on a mini fashion show in Episode 5 of Secret Garden, which airs tomorrow. Those of you watching the drama (and if you’re not — why not??) will know that Ha’s character, Ra-im, is a tough stuntwoman who dresses in boyish clothing, though she harbors hidden girlish fancies behind that tomboyish exterior. She hardly owns anything you could call “pretty,” an issue over which Hyun Bin’s Joo-won character so rudely took her to task in the previous episode, berating her as though HE had any right to demand a certain appearance and attitude from her. (Seriously, I love his character for all his weird little neuroses and quirks, but he pissed me off somethin’ serious in the last episode, acting as though it was a grave offense that another person’s appearance could so insult HIS sensibilities. Go get a pet dog and dress it up in ribbons and lace, then, ya prat.) (...) © javabeans for Dramabeans, 2010. | Permalink | 69 comments | Add to del.icio.us |
Gong Yoo and Im Soo-jung for Vogue Posted: 26 Nov 2010 10:17 AM PST My boyfriend brought me flowers! Wait…did I just say that out loud? … Oh, like you weren’t thinking it. Why he’s dressed up like a lounge singer to do it is beyond me, but hey, that smile makes up for a lot. It covers over a multitude of sins, as they say. It’s Gong Yoo, Im Soo-jung, and puppies. Need I say more? The stars of the upcoming romantic comedy Finding Kim Jong-wook got together for a Vogue shoot and interview, looking every bit their adorable selves. And as if they weren’t cute enough already, someone gave them puppies to hold. It’s like a caramel apple, dipped in marshmallow, with a chocolate shell.
