[News] YG Entertainment to hold open auditions in Asia at the beginning of 2011

YG Entertainment will soon begin hunting for talented singers all around Asia.

On November 4th, YG Entertainment stated, "Next year, on January 28th, we will be revealing an open online audition (www.yg-audition.com). We will be looking forward to seeing talents that will be the future of YG Entertainment, as those who will succeed the nation's best singers: Big Bang, 2NE1, Se7en, and Gummy."

YG Entertainment began overseas auditions back in June for the first time in six years, and have been traveling to America and other overseas countries to hunt for talented singers. They have been receiving such a hot response that their official website even crashed due to heavy traffic.

For these auditions, the finalists from the online auditions will have a real life audition in Korea, which will be judged directly by YG's head man, Yang Hyun Suk.

YG have been known to not hold open auditions in the past, however, the company has finally decided to extend the number of open auditions starting from June of this year.

"We like how people can show their strong talents in a short amount of time. If they don't have confidence in having only one talent, working harder to show a variety of talents will net a good result," said a representative of YG Auditions.

YG ASIA Auditions will commence at the beginning of 2011, starting from Korea, then to Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, and Hong Kong.

Meanwhile, the YG Family Concert will take place this weekend, from 4 – 5th December.

[News] 4Minute's 'LIVE Energy Vol. 2 DIAMOND' in Japan

On the 4th December, 4,000 fans attended 4Minute's second concert in Japan, '4minute LIVE Energy Vol. 2 DIAMOND'. The fandom was evident as fans were queueing 5 hours before the concert. They started off the show with their hit songs 'Muzik', 'HUH', and 'I My Me Mine' followed by their own solo efforts or otherwise, their own takes of popular songs.

GaYoon lit up the stage with her peformance of 'Deja Vu' while JiHyun earned cheers from the male fans. Not forgetting maknae Sohyun who, displayed a different side of her, with 'London Bridge' and Hyuna peforming her mega dance hit, 'Change'. JiYoon also displayed her tomboyish style by transforming into a rocker and mesmerised the crowd with her unique charm.

They wrapped up the concert by saying (loose transalation): It's only our second concert but everyone's acting like they have known us for a long time. Thank you for your support and watch us soon for more.

Park Jaebum will be able to be met through iPhone 4 cases.

iPhone 4 cases created with Park Jaebum as a model will be showcased through a monopoly at Gmarket and Auction starting Dec. 6th.

Park Jaebum's iPhone case, the first to be created among resident stars, is set to be sold in various designs. Two popart styles, one cute character style, two tattoo-like styles, and one image style, in total 6, as well as a Special Limited style later.

Especially, Park Jaebum is planning to donate part of the iPhone 4 cases' sellings to 'Korean Handicapped Athletic Association', at which he is an ambassador.

On the other hand, Park Jaebum's iPhone 4 case will be monopolized at Gmarket and Auction first, then after a week, will be sold offline at aShop, PixDis, and department stores.

OurVoiceBox.sg had an exclusive interview with 2AM! You will be able to see the 4 members revealing the off-stage image of each other, and also they will introduce to you about their latest album !

1. Tell us about the preparations of the very first full length album , was there any difficulties met or disagreements etc?

Jokwon: Each of the members was all so busy and so we had to do our recordings late at nights and etc. Despite the fact that we had to stay up late for it, we all enjoyed the process of recording. Because of that nothing seemed so tough after all! We all have put huge efforts.

2. "Saint O'clock" showed us a new 2AM, a more sentimental side of the four members, can each member talk about how they feel towards this whole new album?

Jokwon: It took us a great deal of time and devotion to finally come up with our new album – I'd say it's a masterpiece!
Seulong: We spent lots of time because it's our first full-length album. You can look forward to hear all the things you ever wanted from 2AM in our new album.
Changmin: It contains various genres of music and I believe we've got the fine quality result after all.
Jinwoon: When we were recording, we tried to compose this album with all different sorts of music that highlights the best of our voices.

3. There's two title songs for , 'You Wouldn't Answer My Calls' and 'Like Crazy', which song do you guys prefer more? Why?

Jokwon: I love them both. 'Like Crazy' is like the 2nd version of 'Can't let you go even if I die'. They portray similar tone and mood. So you will feel familiar with it immediately. 'You Wouldn't Answer My calls' has got great melancholic intro with the piano. Really, I love them both.

4. The music video for 'You Wouldn't Answer My Calls' is very touching and sweet, how does Seulong feel about being the male lead in this MV?

Seulong: I spent a lot of time with the director to discuss about the music video. I tired to immerse myself on the situation that I was thrown into!

5. Chang Min wrote the song "To love again" which is included in the regular edition of , can Changmin talk about how the inspirations come about and also give a little introduction of the song.

Changmin: I based it on my own experience from the past ^^ I tried to express my emotions from back then, as close as possible. It's about a guy's pain when telling his regretful ex-girlfriend of how their relationship can't be repaired.

6. Which song in the album does each member like most? Why?

Jokwon: 'That's you'. I get to sing the most part to sing in this song ^^ lol
Seulong: 'It's not here anymore' is my favourit. ^^
Changmin: 'To love again'. After all, it's the song that I wrote so I feel attached!
Jinwoon: I like the intro track of the album. It's so sentimental.

7. Jinwoon, do you have any singers in mind to sing a duet with? Since the other three collaborated with IU, Ga in and Lee Hyun already.

Jinwoon: I'd like to collaborate with KimC of Hot Potato, with the song 'see-saw'!

8. Why does 2AM always say that Changmin changed the most since debut?

Seulong: You will see what we mean if you see his pre-debut photos. ^^

9. Jokwon, how do you feel about working in the same team as Brown Eyed Girls Ga In for the new sitcom "All my love"? You guys are playing twin siblings instead of couple, did the relationship between you two got even better, since you guys would see each other more often for the filming

Jokwon: At first, I was more concenred about it because I was afraid that we might just burst our laughing at each other and we won't be able to focus. But it turned out to be the opposite! It was easier to immerse myself into the character and we worked hand in hand.

10.Seulong and Jinwoon are doing a great job in MC-ing the show "We Got Married", did you guys see another side of Jokwon while watching the show?

Seulong: Yes, I've discovered a lot of new sides of Jokwon. He changes his attitude from when he's around with guys to the girls! It's totally new!
Jinwoon: Yes, I do get to see another side. It's quite different to how he acts in front of us.

11. If Changmin, Seulong and Jinwoon are each given a chance to take part in We got Married with a female artiste, which artiste would each of them pick? Why?

Changmin: Anyone is welcomed! In that way, there'd be more unexpected things happening. It will be more fun.
Seulong: I'm just happy watching now…
Jinwoon: It's more fun to watch it from the studio. ^^

12. 2AM is well known for their vocals, and also people love the other image each member portray when they are doing other things (like acting, hosting), do you guys think you are overworking yourself? (For having so many activities at the same time.)

Changmin: We have crazy schedule and yes we do have lot to do! ^^* But that also　means that there are that many people wanting to see us on the screen. So I'm happy, and it's all good fun.

13. Every member took part in different areas of work, can all member list out 1 other area of work, (be it acting, hosting, be a DJ) that they want to try out in the future?

Seulong: I'll be focusing more on the activities as a singer. But of course, I will do my best if there is any area that we as 2AM would be good at.

14. To make a trip here again within 5 months is actually a pretty short period, how do you guys actually feel about Singapore?

Jokwon: When we first visited, I was so happy to see many fans welcoming us at the airport~ I was happy that so many came and showed us great support. They are all so kind and I think Singapore is an awesome place!!

15.What impression did Singapore fans leave on you guys?

Jokwon: They were very passionate yet polite. They definately left us with great impression.

16. After this event in Singapore, we believed that 2AM would be back in Korea preparing for your very first solo concert from 24-26th December, would Singapore be one of the country for your concert in the near future?

Jokwon: We are working hard on preparing for our first solo concert. Without a doubt, we'd like to stage our concert in Singapore as well if any opportunity arises.

"Flower boy" Kim Hyun Joong was being called "The most beautiful man on earth", causing him to look embarrassed and not knowing how to react, he could only smile as a response. He who support natural beauty, said that if he have to run away due to emergency, he will bring along products from TheFaceShop that he endorsed. "Because I have to take care of my looks, that way, I will be able to earn money with it!" Kim Hyun Joong who took over the endorsement from his boss, Bae Yong Joon, introduced a new facemask from TheFaceShop this morning at a 5 star hotel. SS501 members flaunted their friendship.

On the 4th at Seoul Sangmyung University's church hall, there was a special guest who found his way to the [Kyujong & Youngsaeng Story in Seoul]. And he is none other than Park Jungmin. He has made his way right down to the waiting lounge in order to congratulate Kyujong and Youngsaeng's first official schedule ever since moving into a new agency. He prepared a large cake to congratulate both their new start.

Park Jungmin said, "I'm happy for their new footstart. No matter where our members may be, we support and cheer on for one another".

On this day's fanmeeting, gagman Lee Jinho is the MC for it. Heo Youngsaeng and Kim Kyujong sung to [I love you..I'm sorry] and [Never let you go]. They also carried out a battle between whose culinary skills was better. They made Sandwiches and Kimbap respectively, and according to ratings by fans, the losing party had to take on [lucky or not] punishment. After which they spent time to answer to fans' questions relating to their recent updates.

Heo Youngsaeng re-enacted Rain's [Song to hold you back] (Song for you). He showed his sexy waves by putting on Rain's stage outfit that was delivered over by airmail. Kim Kyujong also showed his powerful chereography with his solo song [Wuss Up]. At the end of it all, both of them sung to [Wings of the World] as they closed the fanmeeting successfully.

HE WASN'T going to tell you something you wanted to hear or give a politically correct answer.

Korean heart-throb and Boys Over Flowers star Kim Hyun Joong – who plays the enigmatic Yoon Ji Hoo in the hit 2009 Korean TV series – made this clear when he visited Singapore for the first time.

This surprised reporters at the press conference and interview with the new ambassador for Korean skincare brand TheFaceShop yesterday.

Especially those who were used to the other eager-to-please – and sometimes pandering – Korean idols who have graced our shores.

When asked, via his English translator, what he looks for in a girlfriend apart from looks, he shot back at the reporter: 'If not looks, what else should I go for?'

Besieged by 2,000 fans at Changi Airport when he arrived on Wednesday night, he asked simply: 'Are these people waiting for me?'

To be fair, the actor-singer (Kim's also the leader of K-pop band SS501) wasn't rude; 'ambivalent' would be a better word.

And the upside to his brutal honesty, as we found out, was that he would say whatever came to mind.

Kim, 24, told The New Paper: 'I've also observed that girls with beautiful faces usually have average bodies and those with beautiful bodies tend to have average faces.'

Kim added that what he would do for his girlfriend – if he had one – would be to trim her toenails.

'There's nothing wrong with that. Cutting fingernails is a bit too common, I think. Toenails are still more special,' he said thoughtfully.

Nonchalant, cool

In contrast, his Boys Over Flowers co-star Lee Min Ho – who has been to Singapore several times in the past year – had charmed the media with his easy smile and anecdotes about how he's 'really lonely' and looking for a girlfriend.

Kim, on the other hand, appeared cool, nonchalant, and rarely smiled.

When asked whether he used facial mask packs (from TheFaceShop) as his in-flight skincare regimen, he didn't make use of the opportunity to plug his brand's products.

Instead, he said no and that he listens to music and watches movies on the plane.

A question that he should have prepared for but surprisingly threw him off was on his favourite three TheFaceShop products.

He eventually answered, rather generically, 'skin lotion, mask pack and foam cleanser', but not without a sheepish smile.

So this reporter tried asking him a cheeky question to try to get him to show his immaculately white teeth again.

Since you like cutting your girlfriend's toenails, do we smell a foot fetish?

It worked.

'No, feet are not my favourite part of a girl, as they are usually covered by shoes.

'I like the eyes and the face. Especially when we are making eye contact,' he said, with a chuckle.

And cutting toenails for a girl is nothing compared to what his craziest fan has done for him.

Recalled Kim: 'A fan disguised herself as a gas pipe repair person and came into my house to repair my gas pipe.

'I didn't give any reaction as I didn't want her to freak out. At that time, I was feeling unwell so she cooked a bowl of porridge and left it on my table before she left.'

Superstar boss

Kim's popularity with girls is probably why his current boss, Korean star Bae Yong Joon of Winter Sonata fame, signed him to his artiste management company in June.

Since then, comparisons have been made of their similar looks and image.

Kim said that although he's flattered because he looks up to Bae, he's not going to don spectacles – Bae's signature look – to become the latter's doppelganger.

'I used to wear contact lenses, but after I had lasik eye surgery, I don't need contacts or spectacles anymore.

'So, no, I'm not going to wear spectacles just because of that. What's more, looks-wise, we may be similar, but he's an actor whereas I sing as well.

'There are more avenues for me to reach out to fans.'

However, looking like his boss has its perks too.

Kim added that it didn't matter that Bae hasn't given him any 'aunty-killing' tips – he expects older women to fall at his feet all the same because he's a spitting image of famed aunty-killer Bae.

For now, his boss' plan for him is to have a fan-meet tour in Asia and release a solo album soon.

Said Kim: 'In 10 years' time (when he's 34), I'll still be acting, be it in dramas or movies. But I don't think I'll be singing though. I'll be a bit too old to dance.'

JungMin went to support KyuJong and YoungSaeng fan meeting at backstage and he also sat in for their fan meeting. He was actually sitting at level 3 of the hall which was not opened for seating.

Fan account that I have read mentioned that he left in the middle of the event. When fans noticed that he was sitting on stage and pointing at him, he gesture to them to look at the fan meeting instead of him. He is so considerate. He knew this was his hyung-deul fan meeting so he don't want to stole the limelight from them. Baby could have came if he was not busy with his musical performance. BEST known for being the leader of popular boy band SS501 and his role in the hit TV drama Boys Over Flowers, Korean actor-singer Kim Hyun Joong will be in town next week as The Face Shop's new ambassador.

In this interview, the 24-year-old heart-throb discusses joining Korean idol Bae Yong Joon's artiste management agency in June, his rebellious childhood and his views on love.

You've said before that your role model is Bae Yong Joon. Now that you've joined his company, how do you address him?
I call him Yong Joon brother. I can't just call him Yong Joon, right? Calling him boss would be very weird too.

What was your first impression of Yong Joon?
The first time I met him, I was very nervous. When I saw him get out of the car, I thought he had a lot of charisma. He seemed like a king. Because I had often read reports about how he had a certain air about him, in the beginning, I didn't dare to say much in front of him. But after getting to know him, I realised that he's someone just like me. He's not the arrogant type.

Do you meet Yong Joon often?
People may think Yong Joon acts like a "mysterious" person who does not mix with people often. But it is very much the contrary – he hangs out with his friends a lot. We are 14 years apart in age but we get along very well. I meet up with him about two to three times a week. We would sit in a cafe and chat about random stuff such as TV series plots and music. Sometimes when we drink, we will even talk about our experiences with our ex-girlfriends.

Is it true that you're a good boy athome?
When I was in primary school, I was indeed a very good and responsible student. I even won the Best Pupil award quite a few times. But I started to change when I was in secondary school. For example, when my parents drove me to school, I would pretend to walk through the school gates but sneak out later to find my friends. My friends were very into music. It got even worse when I grew older. I joined a band and quit school. My parents had violent objections to my decision so I moved out of my house. I found work at a restaurant selling fried chicken and used the money I earned to buy a guitar. At times when I ran out of money, I would even resort to busking. My teachers never gave up on me though. So with their encouragement, I eventually went back to school and finished my studies. And because I "entered society" earlier than the rest of my peers, I find that I now know how to live my life more responsibly.

Are you someone who will give up everything for love?
I once dated a singer for about five months. At that time, I did not like keeping our relationship a secret. So I would often go out with her for movies and meals. I'm the kind of person who will put everything I have into a relationship. I also believe in love at first sight. If I like someone, I won't hide my feelings. I will chase the girl passionately. I like girls who are cool. For example, if we were together and I received a call from friends asking me to go for a drink with them, she wouldn't mind if I left her to join them.

Do you like to exercise? How do you maintain your physique?
I exercise every day and play soccer. If I carry on with my current exercise regime, I will be able to maintain my physique. I actually believe that I will be able to maintain my current physique even when I hit 40.

[News] TVXQ and Park YongHa are Placed 4th and 12th at Japan Annual Celebrity Search

According to the annual celebrity search ranking that is released by Japan's largest portal site Infoseek, TVXQ and Park Yong Ha are placed 4th and 12th, respectively.

On the December 3rd, Infoseek announced its '2010 Annual Keyword Ranking', and TVXQ earned 724 points thus placed the group at 4th place. Next year, TVXQ will comeback with two members, U-Know Yunho and Choikang Changmin.

The suicide of Park Yong Ha in last June attracted a lot of attention and earned the late actor 323 points for 12th rank. These points are also influenced by his volunteer work that was documented by a Japanese broadcaster entitled 'INNOCENT WORD Park Yong Ha, Travel to Africa'.

Meanwhile the first place of the rank was occupied by none other but Japan most popular group Arashi that gained 1055 points. Japanese model Kayo Sato who just recently made a shocking confession about her having a sex reassignment surgery was placed 2nd (762 points), followed by best group EXILE (728 points) on 3rd.

Musical star Min Young Ki (37), who has transformed into a ballad singer and released his album 'The 1st' on November 11th, has praised JYJ's Xiah Junsu by saying, "He's outstanding as a musical actor."

Min Young Ki recently had an interview with No Cut News and revealed his relationship with Xiah Junsu saying, "I was in the musical 'Mozart!' with Xiah Junsu," and added, "When I said I was releasing my album, Xiah Junsu sent me a congratulatory message."

On the backside of Min Young Ki's new album are congratulatory signatures from his fellow musical cast such as Song Chang Ui, Yoo Joon Sang, Eom Gi Joon and Ahn Jae Wook. Moon Hee Joon showed his gratitude towards actress Moon Geun Young.

On SBS' 'Strong Heart'(MC Kang Ho Dong, Lee Seung Gi) on November 30th, Moon Hee Joon seemed excited as he said, "This is the first time in 15 years that Moon Geun Young said she is a fan of mine. I'm so thankful."

Moon Hee Joon also said, "Some of my fans are also stars with immense popularity who might surprise you all. For example, TVXQ's YoungWoong Jaejoong was a fan of mine who really liked me," and "Every concert, he'd be the handsome guy holding a white balloon in the crowd."

He continued to say, "Everytime YoungWoong Jaejoong was asked who his idol was, I'd listen intently just in case he said my name, but he would list only foreign artistes. Why can't he confidently say that he's a fan of mine like Moon Geun Young?" He elicited laughter from the audience when he added, "Moon Geun Young brings honor to the Moon family lineage. She is a small but great person."

[News] Why is SM The Ballad, TRAX’s Jay missing on stage?

SM The Ballad has stood on stage as 3 members without member. TRAX's Jay which brought up curiosity.

TRAX's Jay, Super Junior's Kyuhyun, SHINee's Jonghyun, rookie JINO who are from SM Entertainment's SM The Ballad have revealed their title song 'Miss You' through the live broadcast of KBS2 'Music Bank' at 3pm.

On this days stage, Kyuhyun, Jonghyun and JINO have raised fascination through their sad song with a lovely melody and their soft voices. But, curiosity has risen when only 3 members have stood on stage without member Jay.

SM Entertainment have stated that Jay couldn't make it together on stage because he got recently casted for hr KBS2 drama 'President' and was recording.

The title song 'Miss You' is a sad ballad song which is about a man expressing his pitifulness about not being able to get his lover.

We could feel the sadness of the song with a foreign intro atmosphere and a refines rhythm, sad melody, and acoustic sound. As we head the later parts, we can feel the sadness even more.

Meanwhile, TRAX's Jay will be the role of the young son called 'Yoo Min Ki' of Jang Il Joon (Played by Choi Soo Jung) who challenges to prerogatives.
