Song Joong-ki bikes through Australia Posted: 30 Dec 2010 08:26 PM PST Any excuse to post cute photos of Song Joong-ki: Here he is in Australia, ready to undertake a bicycling tour around Sydney, which will be shown in two parts via ELLE atTV, an offshoot of the fashion mag. Song filmed these spots in mid-December; the program shows him at the Circular Quay, The Rocks, Newtown, and Sydney University. Song has been busy with a string of projects in recent years that have left him unable to travel much — he’s acted in dramas Sungkyunkwan Scandal, OB-GYN, Will It Snow For Christmas and Triple, in addition to being the MC of Music Bank — and he said, “I’ve had two chances to travel to Australia but ended up not making the trip, so coming here with Elle AtTV makes this an exciting place to visit. Traveling around Australia on bike, it doesn’t feel like a foreign country but gives me a friendly neighborhood vibe, and I’m pleased that it’s given me the chance to recharge.” (...) © javabeans for Dramabeans, 2010. | Permalink | 84 comments | Add to del.icio.us |
Posted: 30 Dec 2010 02:52 PM PST It’s time for each broadcast station to put on their end-of-year awards. The MBC Drama Awards are first of the bunch, and man, Kim Nam-joo must be peeved. She finally gets her Daesang — and it goes shared, with Han Hyo-joo. Yeesh. This is almost as bad as when MBC split the Daesang between Kim Myung-min and Mr. Hand Towel. First off, let me say that I did watch several episodes of Dong Yi and found Han Hyo-joo better than expected — not bad at all. Thing is, she wasn’t what I’d call great, either. Powerful enough to win the Grand Prize of the year? Not so much — certainly not over Shin Eun-kyung, who had to settle for a Top Excellence award. Ahn Nae-sang goes royal for My Princess Posted: 30 Dec 2010 12:34 PM PST Ahn Nae-sang is a familiar face in dramas — you’ve probably seen him at one point or twenty in dramas like Sungkyunkwan Scandal, Three Brothers, Story of a Man, Cain & Abel, Tazza, First Wives Club, and so on — and now he dons royal vestments for MBC’s My Princess, where he plays Kim Tae-hee’s great-grandfather. Before you crinkle your brow and wonder, “Er, WHAT?” (as I did, since he’s 46 and she’s 30), his role will likely only be seen in photos and perhaps flashbacks; he portrays Joseon’s last emperor, Sunjong.
