[BLOG] 101206 Japanese reporter's experience meeting 2PM for the first time

2PM who is known to be the "beastly idol" has arrived in Japan on the 6th and had a press conference in the hotel right after. I, however, got to go and join this press conference and had just arrived home.

If it was just to summarize the whole article I would say that their manners and the way they talk is very gentle, and then that's when I realize that they are very well mannered.

The press conference started with 2PM, they all wore black suits which shows their muscular bodies which is obvious that they have been training for a long period of time. This press conference, the boys would have to speak a little bit of Japanese as well, but judging from their hectic schedule and their ability and knowledge of the Japanese language, it shows that even with their overflowing schedule, they studied Japanese really hard.

I also got the chance to ask them questions, I asked them about the artists that they like the most in Japan. Chansungsaid that he liked those mysterious type of genre so he was a fan of Higashino Keigo and has almost finished reading each and every single book he has ever written. And as for Junsu, he has a high interest in paintings, so he collected a lot of paintings/artworks that has been drawn by Japanese artists. And after that Nichkhun said that he has an obsession over the song "First love" by Utada Hikaru and that he has almost every single album she's ever produced and he also likes Matsumoto Jun in the drama Gokusen as well.

This proves that they knew a lot about the traditions in Japan.

And also in this press conference there is a question asking "What is the difference between Japanese fans and Korean fans".Taecyeon replied "The fans in Japan seem to be more shy even when they came to give us stuff and presents, they'd always seem so shy and say "sorry if it's disturbing you"".

Another also asked "Is there any place in Korea you suggest Japanese people to go?" Wooyoung who's hometown is in Busan stated "I would suggest going to Busan, my hometown, it has a lake called Haeundae (해운대) I want everyone to try the sashimi there" and as for Nichkhun who was born in Thailand stated "I would like to suggest Thailand, the island called Phuket". Taecyeon then toldNichkhun "They're talking about Korea you know" and then Nichkhun replied "yeah, I know". This made everybody laugh.

Then they moved the location to somewhere else where they do the show called "Yajiuma Terebi" by Asahi TV. The interviewer arrived and so I was just an audience. Once they entered the room, I'm sure they remembered me, they greeted me politely and bowed.

One thing I'm very sure of is that even though they're still young and still in their teenage years, they know what the word respect means. They know how to answer questions properly, and sometimes I even wonder whether the Japanese artists could answer in such a polite way.

And at that moment Nichkhun's eyes and my eyes met, I got a smile from him. I could feel the warmth in that smile, it was really cute.

And that was how the 30 minute interview ended, when I stood up, everybody misunderstanding thinking that I was the producer, they all greeted me politely again and bowed in respect.

Maybe it's because Korean artists are all about respect, they all have really good manners. Even their eyes are filled with sincerity when they talk, their eyes also show the burning passion they have for music and the want to expand into a larger community such as America and China

Personally, I think that 2PM and/or SHINee could indeed be as successful as TVXQ. They're considered the groups of 'nice guys' and I wish them success in Japan.

[News] TVXQ Will Perform In Both Korea And Japan With One Title Track

Posted: 08 Dec 2010 01:00 AM PST

"Expected To Simultaneously Rank #1 In Both Countries"

TVXQ are planning to perform in both Korea and Japan with the same title track.

TVXQ, now a duo with U-Know Yunho and Choikang Changmin, made an announcement through their official homepage on November 23rd that they will make a comeback next January. Following this, they announceed through their Japanese agency AVEX on December 2nd that they will be releasing a new single on January 26th.

The unknown song they are planning to sing is receiving great attention as TVXQ is planning to perform it in both Korea and Japan at the same time. TVXQ's agency SM Entertainment stated, "TVXQ are planning to perform the same title track in both Korea and Japan in January."

All the SM artistes, including TVXQ, BoA, Super Junior, Girls' Generation, SHINee and f(x), will be holding their Japan leg of the 'SMTOWN LIVE WORLD TOUR' on January 25th and 26th in Tokyo, Japan. Because this overlaps with the release of TVXQ's new single, there is a great possibility that they will be kicking off their activities in Japan at the SM TOWN concert.

On the other hand, TVXQ's Japanese comeback has been met with an explosive response from Japanese fans. On major album sites such as HMV and Tower Records, TVXQ's new single, set to release on January 26th, rose to #1 on the ranking charts as soon as it was released, thus proving their continued popularity in Japan.

[News] Because Of JYJ, Nature Republic’s Sales Quadrupled!

Posted: 07 Dec 2010 11:49 PM PST

Last month, due to the Yeonpyeong Island bombing incident, the main source of revenue from tourists coming from sales of cosmetics stores in the Myeongdong distrct have decreased by 30%. On the contrary, sales from Nature Republic has increased by 4 times compared to the average volume of sales.

As the spokes-people for the Nature Republic brand and the center of the hot Hallyu wave, JYJ held their Seoul concert on November 27 and 28, spurring a massive influx of Japanese fans as well as tourists from other countries and initiating a cosmetics-buying frenzy.

Despite being under the extremely tense situation of the bombing attack, the reason for Korea's increase of tourism has every reason to be associated with JYJ's influence.

However, other cosmetic brands have also suffered a 20%-50% decrease of sales, even with the endorsements of Won Bin, Kim Hyun Joong, 2PM, Song Joong Ki, and SNSD. JYJ has without a doubt, the most influence across the southeast Asian countries with noticeable effects.

After Rain's endorsement, JYJ's invitation of being the faces of Nature Republic is positively expanding the industry's market share.

[news] Nichkhun says Victoria is like his mother

Posted: 07 Dec 2010 11:23 PM PST

Nichkhun revealed "I don't want to believe it myself.. Victoria is exactly like my mother"

The famous Nichkhun from 2PM realized the similiarity between Victoria, his newly wedded wife, and his own mother.

Not long ago Nichkhun and Victoria travelled to Thailand to film the show MBC "We Got Married", both of them showed up at the Incheon Airport since the early morning to get ready to hop onto a flight back to Thailand, both people were excited yet very anxious about what was to come.

When they both arrived in Thailand, they headed straight to Nichkhun's grandmother's house, there all of his family members show up and gathered. When the family finally met Victoria they didn't wait they shot questions after questions about their wedding and about their newly wedded life that they were all so curious about before. And some questions that were asked were uncomfortable to answer and it made it kind of awkward.

But despite that, at that time there was something that happened, all of a sudden Nichkhun's mother accidentally did something without thinking, and that led Nichkhun to become excited and he stated out suddenly "Mom, you're exactly like Victoria". And hoping from this experience that it will lead his mother and his family to become even more understanding and close to their new daughter-in-law Victoria.

This will be aired on 'We got married' on the 4th of December, it will include the scenes in Thailand and their amazing journey as well as that something that caused Nichkhun to say that his mother is exactly like Victoria.

[news] 2AM Jo Kwon states that his love for Ga-In isn't just a show

Posted: 08 Dec 2010 01:31 AM PST

The feelings JoKwon (2AM) has isn't just a show it's all true.

Now, JoKwon (2AM) has to separate his body in two, because he has to act in a sitcom and he has to become a husband in the show "We Got Married"

On the 6th of December at the MBC Dream Center, MBC held a press conference introducing the casts for the new sitcom '몽땅 내사랑 [All My love]' and JoKwon of 2AM stated "I don't feel confused at all about having to go back and forth between being a husband and starring in a drama with Ga In"

JoKwon continued "it's not just a show, instead it's really my true feelings. Whenever I have to film a show with Ga In, we may be the main character in the show, but we have to work together to get the storyline going. Outside of the filming area we have to be like lovers. We have to take care of each other so that we could keep this going. If we lack it, then there wouldn't be anything entertaining. And also if the feelings I have for her is too much to handle, it wouldn't be a good thing because it would affect my acting so I try my best to hold back my feelings. I know that I can't mix my personal feelings and work together, it would just create more problems."

And finally, JoKwon stated "starring in a sitcom is harder than I thought, at first I was worried about not being able to play the role of my character well, but then I realized that the more I act, the character's personality just sinks into me naturally and the fact that we're acting as siblings, I'm not shy and I can act more naturally."

The drama '몽땅 내사랑 [All My love]' is a drama where JoKwon could show is special acting ability.

[interview] Yoon Doojoon, "Nude scene? It will pass eventually"

Posted: 07 Dec 2010 11:18 PM PST

"Something that you are confident in sitcoms compared to Kikwang, taking off clothes?"

Q You are an idol with many girl fans but, from your character being considered a pervert and being known for your feet smell, your idol image is starting to be ruined. Is that okay?
Yoon Doojoon: It's okay for me. Even though my parents and other fans feel bad for me. (Laughs) However, since I am given a new genre instead of a singer, I am really having fun. Also being an idol isn't anything else but a "younger singer" so since my life as an idol singer isn't going to be long, I try my best in everything I do keeping that in mind.

Q If the kiss scene with Gain is release the fans will be shocked. How did it feel when you were filming with her?
Yoon Doojoon : It wasn't like a kiss, but more like a peck, nevertheless I was embarrassed. I also made a lot of NGs as well. Ah, it wasn't on purpose! Honestly I wasn't really embarrassed, but Gain noona kept on being embarrassed. She was like "It's only going to show the back side of my head, do I really have to do it?" (Laughs) For me, I kept on having Kwon in mind… since they come out as a spouse anyways. However Kwon had his own scene where he does the same kind of action as well.

Q There was a scene in which you are mistaken for a pervert because you are found lying down in the house with only your underwear on, was that your actual underwear?
Yoon Doojoon : It was sponsored. (Laughs) When I first read it in the script I thought it was going to be short pants, but I ended actually wearing actual underwear, but then again I wore two layers.

Q They say there is a scene where you have a part time job as a nude model.
Yoon Doojoon : I become the model in a act academy, but I will be filming that scene tomorrow. I didn't I was going to strip all like this, but this is a big problem. I don't even have time to sleep these days, but I couldn't sleep because I was worrying about it. But, anyways it's going to pass at some point.

Q What did the members say after watching? Lee Kikwang, who appeared on MBC happens to be your sunbae as well.
Yoon Doojoon : If we don't have time to watch it on TV, we watch the videos that the fans makes with only cuts of me. There are some members who say it's funny, but too embarrassing to watch. (Laughs) To Kikwang, I asked a lot about the filming set feel and systems rather than questions about acting and got help that way.

Q Even though you started late, is there a type of acting you think you can do better than others?
Yoon Doojoon : Taking off clothes? (Laughs) No, I can't match up to Kikwang in taking off clothes.

Q Kiss scene?
Yoon Doojoon : Kikwang had a scene in which he kissed Jungeum noona as well. It was when we didn't even debut so when Kikwang was like "I am going to be kissing Jungeum noona tomorrow~" I was jealous, but I didn't get to see the members yet so I couldn't show off. (Laughs)

Q If there is a goal you set for yourself as you entered a sitcom.
Yoon Doojoon : First of all, I decided that I am not going to be written in the articles in a bad way. I wanted to make sure I that I wasn't harming the sitcom and that I wasn't going to cause problems with my acting skills. I always think if I can portray something comically because acting and the script is a lot awkward for me still, but since this is my first official try at something, I want to learn a lot from it.

Q You must be busy preparing for the first concert in December. What kind of stage are you preparing?
Yoon Doojoon : If I have a sitcom filming to do, I get nervous because I have to miss concert practice. But since we have 6 members and we have too many members to have a solo stage for each of us, we are preparing a stage in a group of two. We are also planning to release the new songs we composed and written ourselves.
