Merry Christmas from the cast of My Princess

Posted: 25 Dec 2010 05:00 AM PST

MBC’s My Princess has released a Christmas message video (watch below), which features the leads — Kim Tae-hee and Song Seung-heon — and is basically a collection of behind-the-scenes clips from the set. (Ryu Soo-young and Park Ye-jin also star as second leads.)

With the drama just a week and a half from its premiere, the crew will be busy working through the holidays, which I actually think might be fun given a close-knit shooting atmosphere. I’ve commented about the drama’s potential and premise a number of times so I’ll spare you yet another rehash, so let’s just say that I really HOPE this will be a sweet, funny fantasy romance to kick off the new year on the right foot.

Heady with a chance of ho hum [Year In Review, Part 3]

Posted: 24 Dec 2010 08:30 PM PST

This has been an exceptional year for kdramas. Just ask Kim Gab-soo, if you can catch him in an idle moment, that is. The man appeared in ten dramas this year, a number that is mind-boggling in itself and one which is bound to make Bae Yong-joon's fans wail.

But it isn't just the sheer volume of Kim Gab-soo awesomeness that we could feast on that makes 2010 a heady year. No, for me it was how many dramas were jostling for first place that makes this year especially exhilarating. Not since 2007 have I seen such quality or liked so many dramas in a span of just twelve months. Altogether I watched more than twenty but will exclude from this year-end review the ones that I dropped or put on hold after 1-3 episodes. That leaves me with fifteen dramas, arranged from least-liked to the one that owns my heart this year.

Noh Min-woo performs in concert with Boohwal

Posted: 24 Dec 2010 03:45 PM PST

Having just played a rock star in the KBS Drama Special mini-drama Rock Rock Rock, actor (and former member of pop band TRAX) Noh Min-woo will be a special guest at the 2010 Boohwal Christmas Concert. He’ll perform alongside Kim Tae-won, the famous rocker guitarist of Boohwal whom Noh portrayed in the drama.

Apparently Noh Min-woo first met Kim Tae-won at an Lee Seung-gi concert (aw, Gumiho support), and they now enjoy a friendly, brotherly relationship. Kim said of Noh’s portrayal of him, “When I heard from Noh Min-woo that he’d be playing me in the drama, I shared stories with him about my life. Through that process we became closer, and that’s how I ended up inviting him to this concert.”

A look into Sign’s examination room

Posted: 24 Dec 2010 10:52 AM PST

SBS’s forensic-investigation drama Sign gives us a peek into its exam room in these stills, with its leads, Park Shin-yang and Kim Ah-joong, playing coroners.

The drama’s title refers to the hidden signs within the dead bodies that reveal clues about the crime (and criminals) that did the victims in. The show is shot in Paju, on its set location at the Prism Complex, which is where these scenes were filmed.
