[News]2010's Best Gagman : Kang Ho-dong

MC Kang Ho-dong has beat the man considered to be that nation's MC, Yoo Jae-suk, for the first time this year as the number one gagman (aka comedian).

According to a survey conducted by Korea Gallup, 1,701 people over the age of 13 were asked who they thought was the comedian that shined most bright throughout 2010. 43% answered Kang Ho-dong, while 38.1% answere Yoo Jae-suk. Until now, from 2005 to 2009, Kang has always been just shy of taking the top honors by falling behind Yoo. Bringing up the rear of the list, Lee Soo-geun garnered 31.9% of the votes and Lee Gyung-gyoo with 4.6%.

In terms of the voters' gender demographics, 43.4% of the voters for Kang were male and 42.6% female. Yoo's voters were 34.5% male and 41.7% female. As for age demographics, those 30+ in age supported Kang while those in their twenties or younger voted for Yoo.

[News]Actor Cha Seung-won was voted to be the most attractive middle-aged pretty boy (aka flower boy).

An online movie ticket site, Max Movie, conducted a survey from December 22-23rd asking who people thought was the most attractive middle-aged pretty boy. 2,752 people participated and Cha took 48.8% of the votes (1,344 voters), giving him a solid win at first place. Cha currently has been garnering much attention for his role in the new drama "Athena: Goddess Of War". Voters commented that Cha seems to just get better with age in terms of his efforts and acting. Also, they complimented the 40-year-old star saying that he could pass for a 20 or 30-something-year-old.

In second place was Kim Gap-soo with 18.8% of the votes (517 people). Netizens gave feedback saying that Kim was in so many various projects in 2010 and he was able to really bring every character to life. Also, that they gave him props for maintaining his youth and physique by using social networking sites (i.e. Twitter) and cycling.

Kam Woo-sung brought in 5.8% of the votes (159 people), Choi Soo-jong with 5.7% (157 people), and Cha In-pyo with 5.6% (155 people).

[News]Dream High Cast Speak of Encounter with Bae

The actors of the new KBS 2TV Monday and Tuesday drama series "Dream High" shared their first impression of top star Bae Yong-jun, who is producing and also acting in the drama in the role of a school chair.

On "Happy Together Season 3" on KBS 2TV Thursday, the MCs asked the cast members, "Someone like Bae is a mystery celebrity. What was he like in person?"


Actor Kim Su-hyeon said, "I was nervous about my first meeting with him. I thought he'd be a mild, gentle person and he would greet me this way. But he looked very tired when we met. He was very down-to-earth and humble."
Eom Gi-jun said, "I addressed him honorifically in my first encounter. I introduced myself and he said casually, 'I've been looking for you. Where were you?'"
MC Park Myeong-su said, "Your conversation is different from others. Maybe he was looking for you to have you run an errand."

Lee Byeong-jun said Bae politely respected him as a senior and he was overwhelmed by his manners. Lee said, "Bae must've been confused. He asked me if we worked together before and I said no and he seemed a little taken aback."
Actress Lee Yun-ji said she met Bae when she was in high school before her debut, "I once met him ten years ago. I was in my school uniform and Bae asked me if I'd like to become an actress, and then he immediately told me not to become one."

Others testified to Bae's consideration of others. Lee Byeong-jun said, "He lets others shoot first and he always remains to the very end."
Lee Yun-ji said, "His popularity made sense to me when I saw him bring a heater to warm the other cast."

[News]Couple in Conflict over Son in ‘The President’

A couple becomes involved in a confrontation over their son in the new KBS2 drama "The President."
In the December 23 episode, Jang Il-jun (Choi Su-jong) sacrifices his son to overcome a crisis that could jeopardize his political career, infuriating his wife Cho So-hee (Ha Hui-ra). After finding out that his son Sung-min is involved in a false accusation against his rival Kim Gyeong-mo (Hong Yo-seop), Il-jun confesses to Gyeong-mo that his son is behind the slander and apologizes on behalf of his son. This rather serves to his advantage, boosting public confidence in him.

But So-hee becomes furious at the fact that Il-jun uses his son for his own benefits. "You should not have done that. You should have shown consideration for Sung-min," she criticizes him. "How can you sacrifice your own son to become president?" Il-jun only replies coldly that Sung-min deserves the blame.
So-hee confronts him once again by asking, "Is that really the only reason?" Il-jun asks back in bafflement, "What do you mean?" But the appearance of their adopted daughter In-young (Wang Ji-hye) stops them from continuing the argument. Il-jun steps back and asks her to make up. So-hee agrees but adds that this is the only time she would tolerate such a thing. "I will do anything for your ambitions, but I can't bear to sacrifice our son. I will not forgive you if things like this happen again no matter what," she says.
So-hee scolds Sung-min when he, drunk, vents his anger towards Il-jun. But when he falls asleep in tears, she whispers in his ear, "My son, you should believe in family blood. You are the only son of your father." This signals another conflict in the family over Yu Min-gi, another son of Il-jun out of wedlock.

There have been line-up lists circulating the internet that include 2AM and 2PM. I called the event organizers and they said that 2AM & 2PM have been invited and will most likely take part in the concert, but nothing is confirmed. They're still contacting all the agencies out there, and it's likely that all of the top groups will be performing. In total, there will be more than 20 groups!

[News] Kara and SNSD ranked among top 10 artists who shine in Japan in 2010‏

SNSD and Kara were included in the top 10 of 'Artists who shine in the year 2010' in Japan.
From December 3rd to December 24th, an online survey was conducted on Japan's Asahi TV's 'Music Station' to determine the 'Artists who shine in the year 2010'.

From the poll result, Kara and SNSD were placed within the top 10, alongside popular Japanese artists such as Fukuyama Masaharu, Arashi, AKB48, Nishino Kana, Perfume, etc. Kara was ranked 6th while SNSD took the 9th spot.

This year, SNSD's Japanese singles 'Genie' and 'Gee' have both surpassed sales of 100,000 copies respectivelyand recorded a total revenue of 880 million yen from all the singles and album sales in Japan this year. Besides that, SNSD's 2nd Japanese Single 'Gee' was also awarded the Best Single Award at the '2010 BIGLOBE Music Award' and ranked no.2 on 'The 43rd Oricon Annual Ranking 2010' newcomers' sales category. Such is the huge popularity and impressive achievement of SNSD in Japan this year.

[News] SNSD praised for being the most economical when it comes to online shopping

One A Day Social Commerce shopping mall, Crazy Ticket conducted a survey from November 29th to December 23rd entitled 'Which girl group would pay great attention to economical shopping through social commerce?' involving 889 participants. From the survey result, SNSD topped the list where 442 participants (49.7%) voted for them. T-Ara came in 2nd with 218 votes (24,5%) and 2NE1 in 3rd with 198 votes (22.3%).

A representative of Crazy Ticket said, "Through this survey, the public have told us about their thoughts and impressions of SNSD, T-Ara and 2NE1′s image. Particularly, many of the respondents expressed their opinions on SNSD's thriftiness. Some of the respondents commented, 'In view of their busy schedules, it seems that SNSD would only buy things they really need through online open market','Christmas gift to express gratitude towards SNSD seems to be available through social commerce' and 'I will only buy necessary items which are affordable and economical through One A Day Social Commerce'".

Meanwhile, SNSD are also the most-searched figure in 2010. According to portal site, Naver, 'SNSD' is the 5th most popular keyword search and 1st in terms of most searched figure.

[News] SHINee holds first-ever concert in Japan with over 20,000 fans

Korean boy band SHINee held their concert in Japan over the weekend, performing in front of several tens of thousands of local fans and media outlets for their two series of shows.

A press release from SM Entertainment announced on Monday that a total of 24,000 fans and 400 local media outlets came to see the boys at their concert titled "SHINee THE 1st CONCERT IN TOKYO SHINee WORLD" held twice on December 26 at the Yoyogoi National Stadium in Tokyo of Japan.

The boys sang several of their songs, including one while hanging from a wire as well as taking the stage for individual performances.

SHINee member Jonghyun expressed his feelings on not being able to perform with the rest of the group due to his ankle injury saying, "I am both sad and sorry because the members and I have dreamed of holding a concert even before our debut and I wanted to show everything through this show."

The quintet also announced they will officially take off their singing career in Japan starting 2011, releasing their first album in March of next year through EMI Music Japan, a subsidiary of British music company EMI Group Ltd.

Composed of other members Key, Minho, Taemin and Onew, SHINee made their debut in 2008 under major talenthouse SM Entertainment. They have produced a number of hit songs including "Reply," "Ring Ding Dong" and "LUCIFER."

The boys will hold another concert, on January 1 and 2, at the Olympic Stadium in Seoul, Korea.

"Older Women Killer" SHINee Minho expresses his thoughts about Son Eun Seo's beauty.
In the recent KBS2TV variety show, "100 Points out of 100.", the pair, SHINee Minho and Eun Seo who are often seated together for broadcast, staged a pink atmosphere around them which immediately captured everyone's attention.

SHINee Key who was one of the guests for the latest Christmas special episode, revealed that Minho was a 'Noona (women older than Minho) Killer' and that Eun Seo was the exact ideal type of woman that Minho falls for.
In response to this, Eun Seo blushed in embarrassment, leaving Minho flustered, unknowingly creating a love atmosphere at the filming set.
Besides that, another guest of the day, Super Junior Kim Heechul mentioned that he "really likes Son Eun Seo" and wanted her to join in his AB group Jjo Ko Bol, (which consists of celebrities of blood type AB) in which Minho replied with, "Eun Seo Noona is not even AB, why are you being like this!" His anxious reaction furthermore added on to the suspicions of the present artistes, that the two of them really had something going on.
Subsequently, Heechul danced to SNSD's Hoot, and directed his archery dance movement towards Son Eun Seo, which ended up with a jealous Minho standing in front of Eun Seo to block Heechul, making everyone laugh.
The love line of Minho and Son Eun Seo can be seen in the upcoming 25th December episode of "100 Points out of 100″.

[News] BEAST will support SHINee in 2011 during their Break

BEAST released numerous albums this year. The first was is March, and was titled, "Shock Of The New Era". The second, titled "Mastermind",was released in September and featured the hit song, "Soom". Additionally, they released yet another album, "Lights Go On Again" at the end of November. BEAST then split up into duo groups just a week ago, and released all of their duo tracks in one album titled, "My Story". They have been promoting almost non-stop this year, taking into consideration that between albums they appeared on shows.

BEAST is scheduled to appear on all of the year end shows, which includes practice time for their special stages as well. However, BEAST will finally get a break before they start on 2011's promotional schedule. It was revealed today that they will attend SHINee's first Korean concert, 'SHINee World' on January 1, 2011. Cube Entertainment expressed, "Attending the concert will give BEAST time to catch their breath before their official debut in Japan in February of 2011." Cube also went on to say that BEAST also has encore concert performances coming up right after the start of the new year.

It is nice to see artistes supporting each other at their big events. Are you excited for the concert?

With the girls winning so many awards,the girls have been named as the best artist on Hanteo with only 4 days to go in 2010.

Super Junior and SHINee came in 2nd and 3rd while JYJ and BEAST came in 4th and 5th.

[NEWS] Eunjung attends launch with a cast

It has been in the news recently that Eunjung has injured her left knee(ligament injury: click here and was forced to cancel her upcoming appearances.


Well it seems nothing's stopping her from attending her drama 's launch party as she walked in with a full leg cast on her left leg. Miss A's Suzy and 2pm's Taecyeon were especially helpful and caring, worrying for their co-actor.

Positivity has filled T-ara's message boards with people saying "A brave girl emerges", "Nothing will tear down our Eunjung!" and "She looks even more beautiful because of her courageousness"

T-ara has been through alot since their comeback, from being denied of their outfits, to performing in freezing cold weather. 

Eunjung will not be attending any year-end performances with T-ara, but T-ara are still attending as a group.

Yesturday, SHINee successfully held their First Solo Concert in Tokyo.

The lucky fans that attended the concert got to watch SHINee's Quasimodo MV while they performed the song. The MV shows all 5 members crying in the rain.

It has not been comfirmed whether SMENT is going to release the MV officially but many fans are praying hard and hoping that it happens.

[Video] Heechul, Minho and Eunseo's Love Triangle on "100 Points out of 100"?

Previously, we posted about SHINee's Minho being a Yeonsang Killer, check out the video now!

-Summary-
In the latest Christmas special of KBS2TV's "100 Points out of 100"(Oh! My School), a love triangle involving Super Junior's Heechul, SHINee's Minho and actress Son Eunseo was formed.

Minho and Eunseo were originally partners for the show from the first episode. Heechul came on the show as F.T ISLAND's Hongki's friend.

While SHINee's Key exposed that Minho was a "yeonsang killer" (Senior/Older Women Killer), Hongki said that Heechul likes Eunseo and wanted her to join their "Jjo Ko Bol" group, (Jjo Ko Bol is a group created by Heechul and Hongki which consists of AB Blood Type celebrities), but Eunseo isnt AB Blood Type.

Heechul then said to Minho "Your nickname is yeonsang killer...I'm a yeonha(younger) killer" causing everyone to laugh.

After that, when Heechul danced the arrow dance (SNSD's Hoot) and directed his shots to Eunseo, Minho came out and blocked the "arrows".

Upcoming boygroup 'New School', which is under BBO Entertainment, revealed their 2nd member, Hae Min a while ago. Hae Min has already gained quite a number of fans online for his 'wealthy' look as an ulzzang.

Hae Min also went to a famous music school in Gwangju and studied alongside with Seungri(Big Bang), Minzy(2NE1) and Hara(KARA). He is set to debut as a rapper in this 4-member group along with Jion(Kim Byung Ho), who is also a well known Ulzzang.

New School has yet to debut, but with the number of fans Hae Min has, New School already has fans. Check out Hae Min's Ulzzang looks here:
