Posted: 03 Dec 2010 11:10 PM PST Episodes 11 and 12 are really two parts of one story (as were Episodes 7 and 8 ) and aired on the same night, so I considered writing them up together. But I think there’s enough to talk about in this one alone, although I plan to have 12 up shortly so we can get to the ending soon enough. Posted: 03 Dec 2010 05:36 PM PST SBS’s medical-forensic-crime drama Sign is one that admittedly doesn’t capture my interest right now, but I think there’s the possibility for it to be better than I’m thinking. Until I remember that the writer also wrote Yoon Eun-hye’s flop My Fair Lady and Kim Sun-ah’s flop When Night Comes (and Hyun Bin’s Snow Queen). Even so, I’m trying to be optimistic, since I do like supporting leads Eom Ji-won (so chipper and adorable in The Woman Who Still Wants to Marry) and Jung Kyeo-woon (who was surprisingly endearing in Dr. Champ). And despite the predictable storytelling formulas of the CSI and Law and Order franchises, those shows can be pretty entertaining, and may offer a welcome break from all the angst and romance in K-dramaland these days. (I’m a sucker for romances, be they comedic or dramatic, but even I’m getting a little romanced-out; something new would be a refreshing change of pace.) Song Chang-eui takes a bow for Werther Posted: 03 Dec 2010 12:58 PM PST TV, film, and musical actor Song Chang-eui has been busy lately, recently wrapping up a weekend drama in Life Is Beautiful, in which he was one-half of a much-talked-about gay couple, and now the curtain has also dropped on the Seoul run of Sorrows of Young Werther, his most recent musical role. The production is based on the tragic, autobiographical Goethe novel in which Werther is a young man in love with a woman who is engaged to another man. Hence the sorrows. Hint: It does not end well for him, although the promotional stills below could probably tell you that. Second hint: Remember what Chekhov said about onstage guns.
