[News] Gwangju Receives “U-Know Yunho’s Rice Of Love”

At 10am on the 23rd, the city of Gwangju received a donation of 140 sacks of rice (10kg each, approximately 3.5 million Won) from TVXQ's U-Know Yunho (Jung Yunho).

U-Know Yunho, who graduated from Gwangil High School in our region, prepared this donation at his own expense to help those in need as the year comes to and end and a new year begins.

U-Know Yunho was unable to attend the presentation of the donation due to his work, so a representative from the agency Dreamē¾Ž was there instead.

The donated rice was distributed through each district's borough office to various households with three sacks of rice going to 35 households of the severely disabled, and 35 sacks going to the New Day School.

U-Know Yunho has been participating regularly in community service opportunities other than donating rice as he has donated scholarships to his high school, sponsored buying household appliances for orphanages, and delivered presents to hospitals and senior citizen centers.

[NEWS] SNSD, the remedy for loneliness

SNSD were voted as the artists who provided the greatest comfort for those having a lonely and arduous life this year.
Matchmaking company, Bien-Aller in collaboration with feelingyou.net carried out a survey involving 846 individuals (423 men and women respectively) who are hoping to get married, nationwide (Korea Republic). The result was obtained from the survey entitled "The greatest comfort for the past one year" which was conducted through e-mails.
For the survey 'The singer who gave the greatest comfort to those living a lonely life in the past one year', SNSD topped the list where 48.6% of male and 30.7% of female respondents selected SNSD as the artists who made their life more colorful.
In terms of percentage of votes cast by male respondents, Kara came in 2nd with 19.4%, miss A in 3rd with 15.6% and 2NE1 in 4th with 7.8%. In terms of female votes, 2AM took the 2nd place with 23.2%, T-Ara with 19.2% secured the 3rd spot and Kara came in 4th with 15.4%.

[News] FTC Orders SM To Change Contract Lengths From 10 Years To 7 Years

The Fair Trade Commission has laid down an order on SM Entertainment, responsible for groups such as Girls' Generation, Super Junior and SHINee, against their unjust exclusive contracts.

The Fair Trade Commission revealed on the 23rd that, "Regarding SM's unjust exclusive contracts with its celebrities and trainees, we have issued them a warning as they have volunteered to rectify the problem. We have ordered them to change the act of uniformly including an additional three years to the contracts of all trainees."

This decision made by the Fair Trade Commission was set off by TVXQ's fanclub last year, when they called for the FTC to investigate and lay a verdict on the whether or not SM Entertainment's contract with TVXQ was a slave contract, stating that SM abused their status in the transaction to disadvantage TVXQ.

The acts that SM has been using which violate the laws set by the FTC are the act of creating an unjust exclusive contract (long-term contract period, excessive penalty for breach of contract, unilateral decisions on schedules) and the act of uniformly lengthening the contract period on all contracts to accommodate to overseas activities with no consideration of each individual's circumstances.

According to the FTC, the length of the exclusive contracts of SM celebrities were '13 years since the contract was first signed' or '10 years or more from the debut date.' SM has changed this according to the FTC's order to '7 years from the debut date.'

Also, till now, SM celebrities had to pay three times the amount of total investments and twice the predicted sales in the remaining contract period as compensation in the case of a breach in the contract, but the FTC has ordered that this be changed to the celebrities paying the total of the number of months left in the contract period multiplied by the average monthly sales in the two years before the contract is breached.

The FTC has also ordered that SM change the clause that states, 'The celebrity must prioritize and appear on shows created by SM Entertainment,' to 'The celebrity can state his or her opinion whenever they wish regarding activities for the company, and if SM makes an unjust request, the celebrity is entitled to reject such a request' in order to respect the freedom of these celebrities.

The action taken by the FTC has allowed SM celebrities to escape from the harm of unjust exclusive contracts and is predicted to greatly influence the legal dispute between SM and the three members of TVXQ (currently members of JYJ, Jaejoong, Yoochun and Junsu).

The FTC will continue to investigate exclusive contracts in entertainment agencies and is planning to create conditions so that the industry may rid itself of such contracts.

YG released an official statement about GD&TOP 's album on December 23.

On December 24, GD&TOP's album will be released on 5 versions (silver, gold, red, blue & green). Each will have the bunny/peace hologram as a design for each color. The 5 album will still contain the same 11 tracks.

Each album will be ship by YG in random colors and you can't choose what color to get.

Also, there will be 2 poster that will be ship randomly.

Granage's advertising models are the f(x) members, which will reveal a powerful and exclusive Granage teaser video on the 30th.

NHN's Korean largest game portal, hangame (www.hangame.com) is a 2D side-scrolling RPG (granage.hangame.com) and has signed an agreement with f(x) to be their models on the 23rd.

I think that there are many many fans who are waiting for BIGBANG's new album so please let us know the reason why you formed this 2-member unit.
GD: With regards to BIGBANG's album, we had been preparing for it since previously. But because the other three members were busy due to their various individual activities, the 2 of us ended up recording many songs together. Those people who have been waiting for BIGBANG probably want to hear all 5 of our voices equally. While thinking of that, we came to a conclusion that the two of us will release our recorded songs first, and then the BIGBANG album will be released after that.

How do the other members feel about this group that the 2 of you formed?
T.O.P.: They are under pressure now. (Laugh) They said "Because the two of us have succeeded, by riding on this energy, BIGBANGs album will also succeed.".

V.I's solo album will also be released in less than a month. Don't you have thoughts that you will be rivals against each other?
T.O.P.: Not at all. Because from the start the colour of V.I's music is completely different from ours. And above that, as we are members from the same band, we support each other and there are no such thoughts of rivalry. For things to go smoothly for all of us, after the group album is released, we will be able to receive interest from many more people…after all, we are all aiming towards the same goal.

During the 2010 MNet Asian Music Awards in Macau last Nov. 28, you performed your new song "Knock Out" for the first time, what was the reason you did not perform your title song "High High"?
T.O.P.: We wanted to meet the many fans who had been waiting for us, and give them an early present first. Over there, we performed to give them a taste of a song which no one would have been able to imagine. It is fan service.

"High High" was released before the album and was released as a digital single on 15 December.
GD: It is a very good song. While showing BIGBANG's strengths, we also wanted to show a charm that is different from how we are like when we members are together. The lyrics are interesting too and it is a song which was created while giving careful consideration to the visual images.


In general, what kind of album is this?
T.O.P.: While incorporating the HIP-HOP element that is a characteristic of BIGBANG, its HIP-HOP is richer compared to the recent BIGBANG songs. Both of us are rappers and we were able to express our personalities sufficiently.

What were your thoughts after hearing each other's solo songs?
T.O.P.: Both songs were recorded fairly long ago. When I first heard G.D's song, I thought it was very fresh and has the characteristic of G.D's style. I was absorbed into it.

G.D: When you think of T.O.P., you already have a pre-set image in your mind. But the song overthrows that pre-set impression of him and has importance characteristic to him. Furthermore, it has a fresh side to it, and it has many diverse elements like the charms possessed by T.O.P. since long ago.

Your outrageous hairstyles have been a hot topic. What was the reason for these hairstyles?
T.O.P. : This time, it is an album by just me and G.D. Our personalities are distinct so the songs in the album are unique and have different chraracteristics. In other words, this album, which we created to express ourselves, is overflowing with our personalities. What we did is we tried to make our appearance suit the album's diversity. As I have already tried all the styles that I wanted to try, recently, I sort of feel that I am walking on an odd path. Frankly, this hairstyle is also almost too much right… (Laughs)


What do you think of fashion?
G.D: I am pursuing a natural kind of style. Still stylish, even if it's not that obvious.

T.O.P.: I have been trying to follow "classic" fashion. It's the most difficult but interesting. I like collections which fit my body perfectly even if the outfit is unique, in order to look like a gentleman.

By the way, what were your first impressions of each other when you first met? Has it changed now?
T.O.P.: Since we have become adults, what we see has changed, but other then that, the personality and the attitude of challenging oneself while working has always been the same.

G.D: Not just for T.O.P., my first impressions of all the other members too still remain the same now. My first impression of T.O.P. was that he has the frankness of a man, and I think he is still a surprisingly mischievous person. This is still how I think of him.

Among both of your strengths, not taking into account your own, which strength are you envious of?
T.O.P.: My shortcoming is the opposite of the strength G.D possesses. While I am a lazy person when it comes to tiresome things, G.D is always sincere and he doesn't care how others see him and only focuses on what he himself is able to accomplish.

G.D: I am the type who vastly and superficially handles things without deeply getting to the bottom of what is going on first. I think to be like T.O.P., who goes deeply into something before reaching a conclusion, is amazing. That is what I hope to be.

And, what are your ideal female types? Has it changed from the past?
G.D: In the past, slender girls were my ideal type. But recently, I think that girls I can be together with and have an enjoyable time with are good. Someone whom from the moment that we first meet, I can communicate with without any reservations. Also, a female who devotes herself to her work is good.

T.O.P. : I look at the atmosphere. Someone who is able to react to me is good. My type is someone who can understand my shortcomings and react to me.

Lastly, tell your fans how you feel about this album!
T.O.P.: I only have 2 wishes for this album. Firstly, that everyone will be surprised after listening to it. I am hoping that it will be an album that will cause people to feel the shock of hearing something new which they have never heard before till now. The second wish is that it will be an album that will always remain in their memories. I have been having these wishes while spending the whole night on some days recording. There was a period of time I almost spent all my time continuously at the stage. As it is an album which has that much passion channeled into it, please expect our stage. And please support us.

G.D: As BIGBANG's album has not really been released yet, there have been various speculations flying around. Such rumours cause fans to waver and I think it is a pity. Because our album this round, and V.I's upcoming album are albums made for BIGBANG with all of our own ideas, please don't be shaken by the rumours and only believe in what we say and we will be happy. Also, to make this a memorable album, we will be holding many promotional activities, and I want to show you various sides of us. I will be happy if everyone can enjoy it.

[NEWS] MBLAQ's January Comeback, Taking Part in 'Escape Idol'

MBLAQ's comeback is right before our eyes.

MBLAQ was originally scheduled to come back in November but with the reason of making up work the comeback had to be delayed. Without knowing the fans' anticipation was sky high this situation rose suddenly.

MBLAQ is going to the stage in the second week of next year's January. In this context a representative of the company in a phone conversation with Newsen said "For as long as they have prepared I believe they established their place within existing idols. You will be able to receive the much more refined feeling."

And now they revealed "This album was roughly around 13 tracks but is now scheduled for 15 tracks". In other words, lately idol groups release single albums to quickly sell their image but we can presume that MBLAQ is raising themselves to be 'singers' by enhancing their album with quality and perfection.

As for visuals, while keeping with the 'black' concept they've been emphasizing they've let us know that they will be showing a variety of images showing off their charms. In January 2011 with the K-Pop music comeback rush, anticipation is growing as to whether or not MBLAQ will properly solidify their position despite the expected results.

[News] Korean Stars Got Searched The Most at Twitter by Japanese Netizens

Japan twitter has been taken over by Hallyu stars.

According to Japan twitter search site statistics on December 22th (http://tr.twipple.jp/), the most searched celebrity of the year at twitter goes to JYJ Youngwoong Jaejoong. Meanwhile, KARA occupied the 3rd place, SNSD at 5th, TVXQ at 7th, and Xiah Junsu at 10th, leaving half of the top 10 search term to be occupied by Korean idols.

The 3 members of TVXQ formed group JYJ, regardless their lack Japanese activities, this result indeed proved that they still enjoyed high popularity in the country. Especially for Youngwoong Jaejoong, he showed his deep care to the Japanese fans at twitter by tweeting '仆, ę—„ęœ¬čŖž åæ˜ć‚ŒćŖ恄 恋悉 ćæ悓ćŖ 悂 韓 國 čŖž 恮 勉 å¼ŗ é ‘å¼µć£ 恦 恭 (I never forget Japanese, so you shouldn't forget to study Korean too)' on November 11th. The tweet soon spread quickly and within 20 minutes after it published, the word 'Korean' became the most searched term at the search ranking.

The only Japanese groups on the list are girl group AKB48 and Perfume who are placed at 2nd and 4th respectively, while legendary British rock band The Beatles rose at number 6th.

TVXQ will broadcast their comeback teaser CF through the 3 biggest TV stations.

This video will be broadcasted from 29th through 31st for 3 days through KBS, MBC, SBS TV, will be broadcasted as CF during music awards and related music programs, to be seen by TV audiences for the first time.

Super Junior member Leeteuk revealed that Eunhyuk's first kiss happened when he was in elementary school.

Super Junior's own talk show "Super Junior Foresight" that was broadcasted on the 22nd had invited "Emperor of Live", Lee Seunghwan, and played his famous songs.

Leeteuk, who was the one announcing Lee Seunghwan's famous songs, said that he's emotional towards "Only", which sparked attention.
