- Song Joong-ki romances Han Ye-seul on the big screen
- Sohn Hyun-joo cast as Poseidon’s baddie
Posted: 13 Dec 2010 06:01 AM PST Apparently everyone woke up on the right side of the bed this episode, because every eligible bachelor in town starts lining up at Ra-im’s door, and fighting each other like the ten-year olds that they are. Oska wins for Best Smile, Jong-soo wins for Most Embarrassed, and Joo-won wins for Sparkliest Boxers. Yup. You heard me. Min Hyo-rin and Daniel Choi star in short film Posted: 13 Dec 2010 12:08 AM PST Min Hyo-rin, who made her acting debut (pretty winningly) in last year’s Triple, has been cast with Cyrano Dating Agency’s Daniel Choi in a new short film by Kim Dae-woo, the director of the well-received ero-sageuk movie Bang-ja Chronicle. The project is called Age of Milk [우유시대], and depicts “incomplete youth through a warm perspective” — “youth that’s beautiful because of its incompleteness and instability” — and follows the windy paths of two old souls. Min Hyo-rin plays Jin, a woman who’s working on pursuing her dream, which is about the most unhelpful character description ever. (She’s playing a woman! Who’s about the same age as herself! Who’s living her life!) (...) © javabeans for Dramabeans, 2010. | Permalink | 2 comments | Add to del.icio.us |
Song Joong-ki romances Han Ye-seul on the big screen Posted: 12 Dec 2010 05:57 PM PST Sungkyunkwan Scandal’s fashionista Song Joong-ki is heading to the big screen for a rom-com movie, in which he romances Han Ye-seul (Will It Snow For Christmas?). Funny that she’s the noona now, when he was the oppa in Christmas — albeit in the past, so they never actually shared scenes. Also — is it weird that they played siblings in that drama? The movie is titled 태어나긴 했지만, which means Although I Was Born or Despite Being Born. Song Joong-ki is currently working out the final details of the contract, and plays a guy who’s been unemployed for a while who then decides upon a dream to pursue. He matures as he meets Han, a woman who is only described as a persevering type. (...) © javabeans for Dramabeans, 2010. | Permalink | 49 comments | Add to del.icio.us |
Sohn Hyun-joo cast as Poseidon’s baddie Posted: 12 Dec 2010 12:47 PM PST Upcoming maritime police drama Poseideon — starring newly army-discharged Eric, new father Kim Kang-woo, and Thirst’s Kim Ok-bin — has its baddie, and it’s Sohn Hyun-joo, a familiar drama face who’s probably best known for funny ajusshi roles. In Poseidon, he’ll play the man in charge of the elite Poseidon team who trains his men “ruthlessly.” His character is described as heartless and ambitious, who keeps his attention focused as much on his own career advancement as he does on his team. I look forward to it, because Sohn is someone who acts frequently and is always good, who can be quirky at the same time that he’s being poignant. Sohn was most recently in the weekend drama Neighbor Enemies, and also had a Drama Special episode, although I know him better from last year’s family comedy Sons of Sol Pharmacy. There’s a line in that drama where his mother refers to his purity of spirit and his big, innocent “cow eyes” — which is a hilarious thing to say but also kind of true. Yet he’s also just as great playing eccentric bastards (What’s Up Fox) and mean bastards (A Rosy Life). I love what he can do with characters to give them his own twist. Also cast in the drama: singer-turned-actors U-Know Yunho and Jeon Hye-bin, as well as the ubiquitous Kim Gab-soo. Poseidon is planning for broadcast in the first half of 2011.
