[TV REPORT, JOURNALIST JO WOOYOUNG] Jaebum's fanclub, the Jay Effect, has been gathering all of their strengths and numbers in order to go on the offensive and bring high achievements for Jaebum's digital sales. Although it's a voluntary act by the fans, there have many voices emerging claiming that it's an unnatural act.

Jaebum released "Speechless" and many different versions of "Bestie" through his official homepage on October 5th.

Various fanclub communities began introducing ways of purchasing the song moments after its release, believing that his digital sales will make an impact on his career.

Fans left comments stating, "The situation is dire. In order to enter the American market, he needs at least 100,000 downloads but we've only achieved a fraction of that." Other fans agreed and have aggressively set out to purchase as much of the songs as possible.

Other fans even suggested, "In order to make sure that the digital downloads are properly accounted for, don't buy all of the songs at once but use a different card, email, IP each time you buy a song."

Fans on Twitter were also participating in the act by spreading the word around, tweeting, "The only people Jay can trust right now are his fans. The dirty politics of the broadcast companies might get in the way so we need to make absolute sure that his digital sales are at least up there. You must buy all four of his songs."

One fan even asserted, "These sales will be reflected on US and Canada's billboards so it's extremely important. Our 24 purchases can change Jaebum's future. Our greatest weapon is our firepower so let's help influence Jaebum's American album release."

Music industry representatives claim that there is no problem with fans repeatedly purchasing the same songs over and over. As long as it's not a company agency committing a sajegi (purchasing their own albums and songs to manipulate chart rankings and reselling to the public again), then there virtually should be no problem. They also stated that it is hard to blame fans for wanting to buy more of their favorite singer's music.

Especially in a generation where illegal downloading runs rampant, such actions by fans seems almost like a welcome change. However, there are those that criticize the fans for interfering with the real data.

One pop culture critic stated, "It's better for fans to spread and share the song so more people can enjoy it as opposed to staying within their circle and repurchasing over and over again. Still, they should not interfere with the music market in order to just spotlight their favorite singer."

On the other hand, Jaebum will be performing "Speechless" for the first time at the Seoul Soul Festival 2010 on October 10th.

MANILA, Philippines – International artists are coming here in droves, but a group of Filipino singers are not happy about it.

During the launching of his 25th album titled "Replay" on Wednesday, Gary Valenciano expressed concern over the increasing number of foreign acts in the country.

Although he has nothing against foreign talents doing shows in the Philippines, it becomes an issue as it starts to affect the country's local artists, the Mr. Pure Energy said.

"No matter what you say talagang apektado ang local scene. Although, siyempre kapag sinabi mong John Mayer ang pupunta sa Manila, 'Wow!' But it will be good if John Mayer is in Manila tapos matagal bago dumating ang susunod," Valenciano, who is the vice president for internal affairs of the Organisasyon ng Pilipinong Mang-Aawit (OPM), explained.

Mayer held a concert at the SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds on October 1. Prior to him, US singer Kelly Rowland, British R&B sensation Jay Sean and South Korean pop singer Jung Ji-Hoon, or more popularly known as Rain, were among those who recently performed in Manila.

For this month alone, Araneta Coliseum already booked at least 2 foreign shows, including that of Jack Jones and David Foster's. Adam Lambert will also perform in the country this month.

Sandara Park and her Korean band 2NE1 as well as Justin Bieber are expected to perform for their Filipino fans here this year.

"Kasi ang nangyayari ang hirap talaga," Valenciano said. "Unang-una ang sponsors mo they would rather support kung ano ang bihirang makita ng tao. But that's okay for as long as 'yong hindi tipong one after the other [ang show]."

[NEWS] SS501 card collection to go on sale on Oct 12

A collection of cards featuring photographs of Korean boy band SS501 have gone on sale in Korea, according to a press release from the card's creator SBS Contents Hub on Thursday.

SBS announced that the cards titled "Star Collection Card," which went on sale on online shopping mall GMarket last weekend, will also hit stores on October 12.

Totalling 100 images, each card features never-before-seen pictures of the members of SS501, sold in a packet or a set. Each packet holds six individual cards.

"We had previously created these cards featuring the members of TVXQ and Girls' Generation which were quite popular. This time we produced the cards especially for the fans of SS501," an official from SBS Contents Hub was quoted as saying, adding that they have plans to make cards of other K-pop idols as well.

The cards are currently available on online shopping site Gmarket (http://www.gmarket.co.kr).

2NE1′s power is everywhere with their first full album, To Anyone. On the 9th of last month, having released their first full album and performing the three different stages, calling it the "Triple Titles", "Can't Nobody", "Go Away", and "Clap Your Hands", 2NE1′s popularity seemed like it doesn't know when to stop.

Last year, 2NE1, who came to sudden prominence was being expected by all music fans called as the "female Big Bang". It made us to think of them as Big Bang for they are both from YG Ent. and by their unique styles that were obviously different from the other idols.

It was a great way to promote the name for 2NE1′s popularity who was just a newbie back then, but there was the downside in that title. They received such criticisms like "they are copying Big Bang" or "now these girls follow the same paths as Big Bang because Big Bang is successful".

But one year later, now 2NE1 has grown up and who can be no longer call the "female Big Bang". 2NE1 is just 2NE1, who is receiving much love with their unique music style which can never be thought like 'it's a childish one just copying some other singers'.

Recently in the Korean music industry, the music charts are always changing for having so many different new number 1 songs. If a new song got released, it gets ranked all the way to No.1 starting from the Real Time charts, to the daily and weekly charts, then it changes all over again when another new song from a different artist releases theirs.

However 2NE1′s album has been released over a month ago and all the three title songs are still on the top ranks of all music sites. This great result by 2NE1 is catching the eyes by many for there are very many new songs released in this month of October.

In fact, 2NE1 has had some worries before they released their 1st full album. The biggest reason is that it is their 1st full album in this quickly changing music industry even though they are the newbies who just debuted last year, and if they don't meet the fans' expectations after being on hiatus for a very long time, the disappointment by the fans will be much bigger.

2NE1 proved to be fearless after being worried too much. With the new concept of the "triple titles", 2NE1 swept all the music charts and even their three songs are fighting back and forth to be ranked in 1st to 3rd places. They also swept all the No.1′s at all the music TV ranking programs, thus receiving the prize for a total of 8 times by today.

This great love for 2NE1 from all the music fans is definitely resulted by their music and their unique styles. They didn't make up their popularity by connecting with something else, but they are loved by their own music which can only be done by 2NE1.

Now, 2NE1 is just 2NE1, not the "female Big Bang"

Korean Foundation of Cultural Industry (Chairman Kim Young Hoon, and the foundation) have announced in 6th that popular groups 4Minute and B2ST will be awarded 'Asia Influential Artist' award in '2010 Asia Song Festival'.

The foundation said, "In the 23rd, the two groups will be participating in 'Asia Song Festival' held in Seoul Jamsil Olympic Stadium." and "They will be receiving 'Asia Influential Artist' award given to those who had the most attention this year in Asia.

The festival is held together by the foundation, Unisef, and the city of Seoul to celebrate the opening of G2O summit.

Beforehand Rain, Boa, Kara, 2AM, and etc. who are popular singers in Korea, AKB48 in Japan, Jane Jang in China, Jung Wi En Chang (鄭元暢) in Taiwan and etc. will be participating in the festival and music fans over the world are interested.

This ad is a classic example of using innocent stars that have been taken advantage of against their will, so don't always believe what you see!
Hopefully no one believed Jay, Narsha and Jea actually agreed to model for phone play…

Recent photo's of the wonder girls has been receiving a lot of heat from portal sites.

On their recent performance in the US 3 days ago, they met up with fans after they haven't performed on stage in a while. Fans have a mixed reaction on seeing the girls after a gap of absence. The fans were excited to see the girls on stage but some cannot hide to notice Yenny. Fans commented, "How did you gain weight so fast?", "are you too stressed".

However, JYP Entertainment said, "Yenny appeared like that because of the tight costume, she is very fit".
