Posted: 15 Oct 2010 08:00 PM PDT BROOMAAAAANCE! Honestly – this is all I ask for, writers of this drama. Please, please PLEASE give Sang Bong and Ji Heon a happy ending! The boys deserve some lovin’, since Ji Heon is continually getting rebuffed by Yeon Woo and Sang Bong…well, he’s continually getting rebuffed by Ji Heon. Teaser and last character stills for Mary Stayed Out All Night Posted: 15 Oct 2010 04:48 PM PDT The first teaser clip has been released for KBS’s upcoming Mary Stayed Out All Night, and while the video doesn’t show much in the way of plot, it does put a smile on my face with its sunny, feel-good atmosphere (and adorable cast). This clip is called a “demo video,” which is more a description of its style (it mimics a CF or music-video feel) than its actual function. Let’s just hope it doesn’t pull a Cinderella’s Sister in creating a narrative in the promo clip that doesn’t actually exist anywhere in the series. (Who’s still bitter about that?) Kim Hye-soo’s new Wed-Thurs drama My Happy Home Posted: 15 Oct 2010 02:09 PM PDT When Playful Kiss wraps up next week, a new 16-episode drama will take over: My Happy Home [즐거운 나의집], starring Style’s Kim Hye-soo, which is being described as a “Korean Desperate Housewives.” That means a murder mystery will play a pivotal role in the story, which features a cast of ajumma housewives. Hwang Shin-hye (The Queen Returns) plays Kim Hye-soo’s rival, while Lee Sang-yoon (Life Is Beautiful, pictured below) and musical actor Shin Sung-woo (above) provide some male eye candy. Hyun Bin and Yoon Sang-hyun play to type in Secret Garden Posted: 15 Oct 2010 09:27 AM PDT Hyun Bin as an urbane city professional and Yoon Sang-hyun as a playboy? Yup, talk about making full use of typecasting. In Secret Garden, Hyun Bin once again adopts an aloof personality and sharp dressing style as the owner of a department store who possesses a “cold charisma.” He’ll body-swap with the female lead, a stuntwoman who is his polar opposite, and I presume that proves to be a humbling (and enlightening) experience. On the other hand, Yoon Sang-hyun — who has made his name playing irresponsible playboys (as in Queen of Housewives and My Fair Lady) — shows more of that charm in playing a popular singer. His Oscar character was one of the leading figures in spreading Hallyu fervor overseas and commands an army of female fans — though how he manages THAT with such an unfortunate hairstyle is a mystery to me. Seriously, it’s like he’s shaped his head into a mushroom. Coupled with that floppy cardigan, can we say sexy? (...) © javabeans for Dramabeans, 2010. | Permalink | 67 comments | Add to del.icio.us |
