[News] Co Ed’s Chanmi was supposed to be a part of SNSD?

Co Ed's member Starlight Chanmi was in fact an SM Entertainment trainee where she was part of a a girl group project. That girl group debuted in 2007 and they are none other than SNSD.

Recently, a group photo showing Chanmi and SNSD during their trainee days has become a hot discussion topic on Internet community sites.

In the photos, Chanmi and SNSD members, along with Soyeon of T-ara were wearing beige color clothing while striking a cute pose. The photos served as proof that there was an intention to debut Chanmi as part of SNSD. In addition to that, there were rumors that before f(x) debuted, Chanmi along with Sully and Krystal were supposed to debut together as a group.

[News] Korea-Japan different views on CNBLUE ‘Idol vs Talented’

Music wise, there has been a big difference in perspective on CNBLUE in Korea and Japan.

CNBLUE is known as an idol in Korea but on the other hand, in Japan, they have established themselves as a band in Japan. According to one Warner Music Japan official, "CNBLUE has the image of an Idol Singer in Korea, in Japan music scene they are more and more recognized truly as a Band."

CNBLUE 2nd single 'I don't know why' (out on September 16th) reached #1 on the Oricon Indie Single Weekly Chart last September 27th. Their 1st single which was out in June 'The Way' has also raised to #7. In Japan, all of their performances were sold out and they also showed a powerful performance on stage.

The Warner Music Japan representative also said, "For a Korean band doing rock music and active as a band in Japan, with a result of reaching #1 in an Oricon Indie Chart, with an always sold out concert, is a great achievement." "Their potential and talent is clearly seen," he praised.

The CNBLUE members appearance and height is just as good as the other handsome idol group and therefore known as an 'Idol Band', however they are also a talented band as the members actually do play their instruments and also write and compose their own music. And because of this, CNBLUE is recognized more as a 'Musician' then a 'Star'.

Recently in a Japan search portal Biglobe (ww.biglobe.ne.jp), CNBLUE had the highest vote for 'which KPOP group would you like to see to have a major debut in Japan'. CNBLUE is truly appreciated as a representative of a Korean talented band in the Japan Music World.

CNBLUE, as a request from their Japanese fans, will be having their Japan fan-meeting on October 28th in the Tokyo International Forum.

[Twitter] Kpop takes over the list of trends on twitter

Today is definitely a day worth noting down in the history of K-pop. Another episode of Music Bank has just ended and we got to see lots of amazing performances. With artists like 2NE1, SHINee, FT Island, B2ST and BoA, the impact of today's episode was great.

SHINee returned today after a long period of promotions of their title track Lucifer. They performed their track Hello and received lots of love and support from fans in the audience and fans online. Even before their actual performance, fans began trending #helloshinee and what do you know? It's trending strongly at second spot now!

Trending at number 4 is B2ST. They made their comeback just today with Mastermind and Soom, hence the trend '#soomastermind. Fans around the world greatly anticipated their comeback on Music Bank and well, it seems like the boys of B2ST didn't fail to impress.

Other noticeable trends on the top ten trends worldwide on twitter right now are: Music Bank, JYJ, Sistar, Mubank and B2ST in that order. If all these Kpop idols were on twitter right now and could see the list of trends, they'd be so happy and proud of all you fans! Good job everyone.

Much anticipated group Co-ed is a 10-member mixed-gender rookie group which consists of 6 boys and 4 girls, a rare sight nowadays as most groups are one-gender groups. The names of all Co-Ed members are pure Korean, which is rare among the recent Kpop scene. Their names would be: Mischievous Kwanghaeng, Universe Yoosung, Wisdom Taewoon, Passion Gangho, Core Noori, Worth Sungmin, Smile Soomi, Starlight Chanmi, Light Hyoyeong & Star Hyewon.

In addition to their 'Too Late' normal Music Video, they also have a 3D version of 'Too Late', which has garnered much interest.

Kwanghaeng was also recently reported to have made an appearance in episodes 14-15 of Coffee House. 

Today, they make their debut on Music Bank with their astounding performance of 'Too Late' :

[News] Another BoyBand, BEAST going to Japan!

Another Korean artist group is coming to debut in Japan. This time "BEAST" will be debuting.

BEAST will release a special item in Japan only on November 24th. They quickly have decided their debut. The first press limited edition/Premium Edition will contain their music videos and a documentary of their first time in Japan in September 2010.

Girl groups like SNSD and KARA have been nothing but popular in Japan's K-POP Boom, and just the other day 2PM announced they would have their debut in Japan as well. Moreover, BEAST's Japanese debut CD is released on November 24th, the same day as 2PM's debut. We can't keep our eyes off these "beasts" debuting in Japan.

KBS drama 'Sung Gyun Gwan Scandal' became a hot topic as idol group DBSK Micky Yoochun's debut into acting.

He became the center of attention for his role as the lead, Lee Sun Joon, and many were interested to see what kind of acting he would show.

But despite this kind of burden, Micky Yoochun digested his aloof character that has wealth, looks, and intelligence with his own unique color. Not only did he avoid going through a 'foot acting' critique, but he is also flawlessly performing in an old-time drama, in which delivering the lines is known to be difficult.

As idol stars are beginning to transform into actors, critiques of their acting ability are hot on their trails. But the number of idols who, like Micky Yoochun, are taking the high road with their surprising acting ability is far from few.

The hit drama 'Cinderella's Sister' from the beginning of this year was a debut project for another idol star. And that is 2PM's Ok Taecyeon.

Though his role was small compared to that of his co-stars Moon Geun Young, Chun Jung Myoung, and Seo Woo, he showed great potential as an actor by taking on the Kyung Sang Do dialect, which even seasoned actors have a hard time doing, and digesting the tender character of Jung Woo.

Big Bang's TOP/Choi Seung Hyun, who made his acting debut in 2007 in the drama 'I Am Sam,' took on the challenge of big screen acting for the first time through Into the Gunfire. Choi Seung Hyun, who was given the role of rebellious Chae Mu Shin in 'I Am Sam,' made a name for himself with his forceful gaze. In the movie Into the Gunfire, he displayed a force that was not pushed aside by acting veterans Cha Seung Won, Kim Seung Woo, and Kwon Sang Woo, and has come up as the star to watch at this year's Chung Mu Ro film festival.

As fans or viewers, it is no doubt welcome news to hear that talented idol stars are venturing out not only in singing but also in acting. But we anticipate more idol stars that will land on the path of acting through much preparation and deliberate decision-making, and thus will not get caught up in 'foot acting' critiques.
