Gumiho Girlfriend goes out on top Posted: 30 Sep 2010 04:29 PM PDT The ratings switched around for Thursday’s drama broadcasts, placing SBS’s fantasy-romantic-comedy series My Girlfriend Is a Gumiho in first place with a 19.9% as the drama concluded its run. (No spoilers in this post.) KBS’s action-comedy Runaway Plan B slipped a few percentage points but maintained a strong showing with a 17.9%. Runaway had been the winner just the day before with a 20.7% premiere, but looks like a lot of people were curious about the fate of Gumiho‘s “hoi couple” (Shin Mina and Lee Seung-gi), and wanted to see if we would get our happy ending or not. Choi Siwon tackles high action in the streets of Japan Posted: 30 Sep 2010 01:10 PM PDT Speaking of Athena, now it’s Choi Siwon‘s turn for some of the attention. He’s pictured in these stills on location in Japan, where his appearance attracted quite a bit of bystander interest. No doubt some (most?) of that stems from his idol star status as one of the many pretty boys of Super Junior. And yes, he’s lookin’ sharp. In this scene, his spy character is sent to settle a suspicious occurrence in Japan. What ensues is a high-action sequence involving a dangerous chase in the crowded streets, hampered by the throngs of citizens nearby. Park Bo-young picks her next project Posted: 30 Sep 2010 10:14 AM PDT Finally! And yay! Park Bo-young is ending an involuntary two-year hiatus with a new movie. Already a top-flight actress at the age of 20, she has fielded numerous offers from films and dramas and has settled on She’s Looking At Me [그녀가 날봐요], a “human melodrama” (which basically means a drama with a lighter touch and a focus on relationships). She reportedly decided to take the role without hesitation after falling in love with the screenplay, which she read in one go. Her role is described as an extremely charming character who has a personality disorder that renders her unable to express her feelings. She meets a timid guy named Ji-ho, and thus begins their love connection. Park’s last project, 2008′s hit comedy Speed Scandal, shot her to superstardom and currently stands in the top ten list of Korea’s box office runs of all time, with more than 8.5 million admissions. Due to a series of legal battles involving her management company and another film production house, Park has been unable to act in the intervening time, and her comeback has been highly anticipated for some time. She’s Looking At Me is still casting, and will begin shooting at the end of October. Via Chosun RELATED POSTS
