Rainbow’s Jaekyung is the same but Jisook gives hope to ugly ducklings

Posted: 10 Oct 2010 01:36 AM PDT

Recently, old graduation pictures of Rainbow’s members, Jaekyung and Jisook, surfaced the internet with mixed response from netizens.

Although Jaekyung’s facial features put netizens in awe of her beauty, netizens were shocked at Jisook’s old graduation photos. Her current half-moon shaped eyes are new. And her already V-line is sharper now. Of course this is all speculation, but there seems to be some tweaking going on.

Many netizens replied with comments like , “"Jaekyung seems like she just lost weight, but Jisook….," "This gives hope to all the high schoolers out there," and "This is extremely shocking."

Keep an eye out for Rainbow’s comeback with an all new album and a whole different concept this month.

What do you think? Was Jisook hit by the plastic wand?

Cheering for the Samsung BlueWings, Kara wore the team’s color, blue, on their jerseys.  When they kicked off the match, the commentators complemented on their improved kicking skills. And of course, the girls showed off their dance skills with their performance of the hit song, “Mister,” at halftime.

So, check out their football spirit below.

Want some more Kara action?  Stay tuned on Japan’s Music Station on October 15th when they perform their Japanese remake single, “Mister.”

[PS! Fan Favorite] 2NE1

Ultimate question: Who is your favorite member?

Abiding by our commitment to “Fan Girl Love,” POPSEOUL! brings to you a new feature called Fan Favorite to find out the idol group members you love the most.

Here’s a track to listen to while you carefully read (or skim) all this, my personal favorite off their latest album, “To Anyone.”

There is no doubt that the Korean music industry is dominated by the tried-and-true formula of idol groups. While the group is a single unit and product of the entertainment company it stems from, each member has individual quirks and appeals that offer diversity and choice under a unified brand name. One box of a certain treat with a couple of unique flavors for everyone. It is easy to spot the specific member in a certain group captures the most attention in South Korea because the media takes pointed notice and makes sure to provide as much coverage and exposure to ensure that the majority gets what it wants.

But it’s a little different in POPSEOUL! land. POPSEOUL! possesses a different demographic with different tastes from different backgrounds, and that’s what I’m curious about (and I hope you’re curious too!). I want to see which group members get the most love in PS! Land. It may contrast dramatically from the mainstream taste, or your favorites may align with Korea’s, but whatevers. No pressure, no expectation, just anticipation.

We will have a poll at the end of this post, but the results will be unknown until the end of the cycle (approximately a week, if I’m good). This isn’t a survey to see who POPSEOUL! should cover more (we’re not blatantly pandering like that); it’s just a curiosity experiment.

Feel free to express your love in the comments. No need to bash the other members; we’re promoting love here. They’re (i.e. the group members) all in this together, and so are we.

We have 2NE1, a quartet of ferocious young women from the YG fam ready to knock you out. Blazing onto the scene last summer, 2NE1 has lived up to their name, “To Anyone,” by capturing attention and accolades for their music and stage charisma.

CL may be the third oldest among four, but it wouldn’t be right to place her as second in command because she is first in fierce. She raps, she sings, she dances, and she cracks a charming smile that reminds you she is not as hard as her persona leads you to think.

You definitely wouldn’t dare to put this baby in the corner. Minzy has all the right moves and pops with just the right amount of attitude. She may be incredibly young, but Minzy makes growing up fast and hard look easy.

Sometimes her face may look flat, but Bom‘s notes sure aren’t. For those of you who think I’m too hard on her face, I’ll just say it’s a smoldering stare. Perhaps not as fiery as her two juniors, but Bom has burning soul emanating out of her throat.

Talent may be claimed by the rest of the group, but this unni makes all the girls jealous. Dara has all the potential and personality with a baby face that makes boys and girls alike melt.

I can tell you a bunch of things about them, but you all have your own opinions. Let us know what they are~

Be sure to look out for the next PS! Fan Favorite to find out which member gets the most love in PS! Land, as well as a new group to shower with love.

San-E and Ggab-Kwon do the Harlem Shake

Posted: 09 Oct 2010 08:11 PM PDT

Did these two pull it off? Watch for yourself~

JYPE‘s new rapper, San-E, recently appeared on MBC’s Quiz to Change the World. It’s a must, especially for rookie artists, to show off their talent to the older folks during the show. So San-E decided to demonstrate some overseas dance moves such as the Harlem Shake and the Snap Dance. Also on the show was fellow JYPE family member, Jokwon, who was itching to dance along. And that’s exactly what they did. Check out the video!

I don’t know about you but San-E‘s dance was hilarious. The outfit he was in along with the Harlem Shake reminded me of the wacky waving inflatable arm flailing tubeman!. On the other hand, looks like Ggab-Kwon has some competition!

So, did these two pull off the dance?

Yoon Eun-hye is making a comeback to the big screen

Posted: 09 Oct 2010 05:34 PM PDT

Yoon Eun-hye, actress known mostly for her drama roles in MBC “Goong” and “The 1st Shop of Coffee Prince“, is making a comeback with a movie.

This movie will be her second film after the 2006 film “Escaping from Charisma” and her first adult role. The movie is expected to debut in January of next year and after the casting is finalized, will begin shooting soon. Not much information has been released about the movie including the title.

A lot of attention has also been given to SBS “Love Song“, which Yoon Eun-hye was cast alongside Park Yong-ha. But due to Park Yong-ha‘s unexpected death, the casting for a new male lead has been pushed back. If the casting takes too long, the drama will most likely air in the beginning of next year. Yoon Eun-hye‘s management has expressed that if the drama settles on its air date around March, the actress will be able to film both the drama and the movie without much difficulty in scheduling. If that happens, we will get to see Yoon Eun-hye on television and on the big screen.

Are you excited for Yoon Eun-hye‘s comeback?

Lee Min-ho likes…

Posted: 09 Oct 2010 05:17 PM PDT

older women!

Well, he said he wouldn’t mind dating an older woman (up to 10 years in age difference) as long as he loved her. During an interview segment of KBS “Yunyega Entertainment Relay“, Lee Min-ho stated that instead of calling her “noona” (what guys call older girls in Korea), he would make up a new nickname for her. He also continued by stating that he has had a passionate relationship with someone after his debut, but before he took on the role as Gu Jun-pyo in KBS “Boys over Flowers“, the relationship ended.

Lee Min-ho also addressed during the interview that Shin-dong from Super Junior should not be sorry about the fact that a celebrity look-alike test result stated he looks like Lee Min-ho by 23%. Lee Min-ho said it was entertaining and Shin-dong should not be sorry at all.

Lee Min-ho is coming back to the television screen in 2011 drama “City Hunter“. Are you excited to see him in his next role as a womanizer who also happens to save people from the harsh city life?

Does Narsha have special feelings for Go Joo-won ?

Posted: 09 Oct 2010 04:10 PM PDT

Brown Eyed Girls’ Narsha may have “special” feelings for actor/model Go Joo-won. However, we aren’t entirely certain. We need you to connect the dots and give us your expertise opinions.

Below is a list we have put together for your observation:

1. It has already been confirmed that Joo-won and Narsha are close friends.

2. Go Joo-won has stated himself that his nickname in college was Won Bin. This clarifies that to others he resembles the well-known actor.

3. Narsha recently revealed that she has had a long time crush on actor Won Bin. She has even confessed that she has viewed his recent movie “The Man From Nowhere” 4 times!

This is our evidence…now, it’s your turn POPSEOULers! Do you believe in this “Mamma Mia” love? Or, is there no way Go Joo-won will ever call Narsha “My Woman“?
