Eom Ji-won joins Heaven

Posted: 17 Oct 2010 06:15 AM PDT

Woot! Eom Ji-won (The Woman Who Still Wants to Marry) joins the cast of forensic-investigation drama Heaven, starring Park Shin-yang and Kim Ah-joong, due out early next year. I have to say, Eom is one of my favorite discoveries from this past drama season. I adore her, and the way she can walk the line between professional career woman and vulnerable girl-at-heart, all while making us laugh.

Eom will play the top District Attorney, a fierce competitor in the courtroom who never met a case she couldn’t win. She also has a romantic past with Park Shin-yang’s character, and once they get involved in cases together, will form the main love triangle with Kim Ah-joong.

Eom is known for being a genre-chameleon, and the producers stated that she will again “show a 180-degree transformation” for this drama.

Heaven starts shooting in November, and will air early next year on SBS.

Joseon X-Files: Episode 6

Posted: 16 Oct 2010 09:27 PM PDT

This episode was a little (okay, a lot) scarier for me to watch, because ghosts and supernatural stuff always gets to me a lot more than, say, aliens or monsters or mutations. That said, don’t let my wimpiness scare you off, since everyone’s got a different set of standards for what constitutes fear-inducing. I just happen to be a wuss when it comes to ghosts.

Choi Eun-seo in first leading role opposite Hwanhee

Posted: 16 Oct 2010 03:55 PM PDT

Choi Eun-seo played bratty Hye-mi in Personal Taste earlier this year, which was the highest-profile role of her young career to date. Now she’s getting her first leading role, and will head an MBC daily drama called Stormy Lovers [폭풍의 연인], which also stars Fly To the Sky singer Hwanhee.

This drama tells the story of the love and hardships encountered by a woman who is disabled but possesses a beautiful spirit. Choi Eun-seo plays that character, named Shim Eun-hye, whose physical healing and recovery will be expressed symbolically within the story. You may recall Choi in her first big break, the youth series Sharp #2, or from teeny parts in Dal Ja’s Spring and Coffee Prince.

Han Ga-in’s first CF with husband

Posted: 16 Oct 2010 11:15 AM PDT

I’ve never seen anyone dressed so well to do laundry, but hey, I suppose a couple in their last wearable clothes isn’t really going to sell high-end washing machines. Although, now that I think about it, beautiful couple down to nothing but their last socks and underwear? That might actually make me sit through a commercial.

Ahem. Anyway, actress Han Ga-in (Bad Guy, grumble grumble) poses for her first CF with husband Yeon Jung-hoon (East of Eden, also grumble grumble). Heh, at least they both starred in dramas of equally epic badness. No. I take that back. Bad Guy trumps East of Eden. Bad Guy trumps everything in the badness category. [Except Cinderella's Sister. –javabeans]
