Kim Hye-soo accessorizes fall fashion with dirt Posted: 31 Oct 2010 05:58 AM PDT WTF? I…can’t even begin to describe this photo shoot. I’m going to go with: Zombie Twins Fresh Out of the Grave. Right? Perhaps the zombies had on nice dresses before becoming zombie-fied, but now they’re a hot mess. As most zombies are. As if being a vampire wasn’t enough. She’s got a flare for the melodramatic, this one. Actress Kim Hye-soo, star of the new MBC drama Home Sweet Home, inexplicably goes for a roll in the mud wearing haute couture, proving that sometimes…fashion is just whack. Posted: 30 Oct 2010 08:55 PM PDT Finally, we get a deeper look into the mysterious motives of Yoon-yi — or at least one of them. And tied into that is a nice way of expressing the romantic angle through the plot without actually focusing heavily on romance. Episode 7 and 8 are really two halves of a whole story (with story seeds being planted even before), so a lot of things are explained here that were left mysteriously vague in the previous episode. It’s impressive that even with that being the case, Episode 7 could stand on its own. (Granted, it left some head-scratchers, but those left me intrigued for future clarification, rather than frustrated.) I suppose if I’d watched Episode 8 before recapping Episode 7, a few more things would have made sense. But on the other hand, where’s the fun in recapping one episode if I already know what happens next, right? Kim Nam-joo writes about her marriage and home Posted: 30 Oct 2010 03:58 PM PDT Queen of Reversals star Kim Nam-joo wrote a book, and it’s shooting up the ranks. Methinks they timed it well, with the premiere of her drama. The collection of essays and photographs, called Kim Nam-joo’s House, is a candid discussion of her family life and home. Of particular interest, of course, is her marriage to actor Kim Seung-woo (IRIS), along with their two kids, and their happy home. Kim opened the doors of their house to have photographs taken for the book, and reportedly shows an enviable knack for interior design. Not surprising, since she’s always impeccably dressed. Song Seung-heon’s invisible love Posted: 30 Oct 2010 10:55 AM PDT Okay, I’m just going to say it. No one should be doing a Ghost remake. And even if someone were to undertake that folly, Song Seung-heon should not be starring in it. I mean, can anyone suppress the laughter? What were they thinking? Is it perhaps a comedy? Sadly, no. It wasn’t made as a comedy, but it certainly will be one, to me anyway. This remake of Ghost, called Ghost: Invisible Love (I kid you not. That’s the literal title. Snerk.) is a Korean-Japanese-American co-production, starring Song opposite Matsushima Nanako (The Ring). They actually recreated the same scene from the original 1990 film, starring Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore. Oh, you know the one. Don’t pretend you don’t. For some strange reason, I can’t ever look at a pottery wheel without that damn Ghost soundtrack playing in my head. Damn you, Swaaaaayzeee! Song starred in another remake this year (Invincible), and will be starring in the rom-com drama My Princess early next year. Ghost: Invisible Love hits theaters November 25.
