Mary’s second leading man Kim Jae-wook Posted: 13 Oct 2010 05:22 AM PDT They’re gonna milk this for all this is worth, aren’t they? Kim Jae-wook‘s stills from Mary Stayed Out All Night obviously come from the same photo shoot that yielded the poster and titles, as well as Moon Geun-young‘s character stills, and as well as Jang Geun-seok‘s. Sungkyunkwan Scandal: Episode 12 Posted: 12 Oct 2010 08:38 PM PDT Hey, girlfriday here, pinch-hitter in the Joseon Crack lineup. Now that I’ve seen the episode, in retrospect it seems like I swooped in and picked up the best episode to recap, but I swear, I’m not greedy like that. Oh, who’re we kidding. I AM greedy like that! Dong Yi ends its eight-month run Posted: 12 Oct 2010 04:18 PM PDT MBC’s sageuk drama Dong Yi ended on Tuesday, October 12, wrapping up an eight-month-long run. For the first half (or two-thirds, more like), it reigned as the undisputed leader in the Monday-Tuesday ratings game, just barely missing the 30% mark at its height. However, in the past couple months its score (and estimation in viewers’ eyes) has dropped, and its last episode ended with a 24.3%. It’s a good number, to be sure, and slightly higher than SBS’s Giant, which drew a 24.0% on that day. On the other hand, the drama did lose steam well before the end and collected mixed reviews. Furthermore, compared to the director’s prior works (Dae Jang Geum, Yi San), the numbers are a bit disappointing. KBS’s youth sageuk Sungkyunkwan Scandal, meanwhile, has been quietly but steadily rising in the ratings, with Monday’s 13th episode recording a high of 12.8%. Alas, Tuesday’s numbers dropped it back down to 10.9%, perhaps as it had to compete with Dong Yi’s finale. Despite the departure of one big player, I think we can expect the ratings numbers to stay in the same ballpark, with MBC’s Queen of Reversals beginning next week — and we know how the ajummas love Kim Nam-joo. Kang Ji-hwan in Nagoya to promote musical and drama Posted: 12 Oct 2010 11:28 AM PDT Kang Ji-hwan‘s pulling double-duty in Japan, with an upcoming musical and drama. Despite their titles — Cafe In and Coffee House, respectively — the two are unrelated, and just happen to be scheduled at the same time. In advance of both projects, Kang headed to Japan on October 8 for a fan event on the 10th that was held in Nagoya to a crowd of 2,000 attendees. Scenes were screened from the drama, as well as highlights from the musical. (...) © javabeans for Dramabeans, 2010. | Permalink | 30 comments | Add to del.icio.us |
