[News] The boys of It’s Okay, Daddy’s Girl- SJ Donghae's role

Now that we know Moon Chae-won will head the upcoming SBS drama It's Okay, Daddy's Girl, it's time to turn our attention to the boys. All are relative newbies to the acting sphere, while two of them coming from the idol-pop-star world.

Daddy's Girl features an immature young woman named Chae-ryung, played by Moon Chae-won, who's forced to grow up when an accident throws her household into ruin.

Kim Tae-ho of Pasta has been tapped as the lead, Choi Hyuk-gi. He's a student at a prestigious law school who's currently taking a leave of absence, and after he becomes entangled with Chae-ryung, they "develop a romance with difficulty." But the difficulty is all a part of the drama fun, right?

Playing his rival in love is Ha Ji-won's little bro Jeon Tae-soo. That appears to be a supporting role, while he'll take a more central role in this show as a character who tries to interfere with Hyuk-gi's relationship with Chae-ryung. Jeon's character is a friendly sunbae to Chae-ryung who grew up in a sheltered environment with parents who have their own successful law firm in the U.S. As a result, he doesn't really know how to do anything for himself.

Jeon said that he feels some pressure playing another villain, but since there's such a difference between a sageuk and a modern show, he'll work hard to show a different side than he currently does as the scheming In-soo of Sungkyunkwan Scandal. He added, "Playing a villain means that I have to be hated in order to be called a good actor, so I intend to work hard to receive a lot of hate."

In addition to those two, we have two idol stars making their forays into acting. First up is Super Junior's Donghae, who has actually appeared in a movie before — Attack on the Pin-up Boys. He plays a character named Choi Wook-gi, who grew up poor but manages to make his way in life with a strong sense of responsibility and earnestness.

The drama follows Dr. Champ on Mondays and Tuesdays, premiering November 22.

4Minute had successfully finished their performances on the recent Asian Song Festival held in South Korea. The event was attended with various singers from different parts of Asia including Malaysia, China, Japan, Thailand any many more.

The girls performed remixes of their hit songs "Hot Issue," "HUH," and "I My Me Mine."

In connection to this, their agency, CUBE entertainment, fed the fans with gifts by sharing several pictures of the girls while waiting and preparing for their performance from backstage:

















Despite of their busy schedule, it is good to see that the girls find happiness on what they are doing. Let us continue showing our support for the girls!

Female Korean POP Idols are currently making waves on different parts of Asia including Japan. These girls are not just making names because of their unique music, but also because of their outstanding physical features that can already be considered as "world class."

With this, a survey was made by several Dermatologists, and they had come up with the Top 5 Female Idols with the Most Gorgeous Legs. Amazingly, 2 ladies from 4Minute made it to be a part of the list.

4Minute's Gayoon appeared at 2nd, after UEE of After School, with the statement:

"The fastest growing beauty of 4Minute, as called by her fans, was said to have 'subtle glamor'. Despite of having a baby face, she has shapely and athletic legs. The doctors agreed that she had "perfect hip and leg lines" and "smooth calf muscles".




After SNSD's Sooyoung and before SISTAR's Bora is our very own, Kim HyunA, with the following explanations:

[News] Pandemonium strikes at KPop Night 2010 – about SNSD, SHINee and many more!

Seven Korean acts bedazzled our sunny little isle with a repertoire of song and dance at the one-night only Korean Pop Night 2010

Scream your hearts out ladies and gentlemen, K-Pop fever's taking over Singapore!

Titillating slender legs, slick sharp dance moves, catchy rap verses, and rousing music sets were all order of the night at one of the biggest Korean-centric concert held in Singapore last night.

The Singapore Expo Hall 2 was momentarily transformed into a colourful sea of screaming fans decked out in official fanclub colours such as pink, yellow, blue-green, and white. Primadonnas (fans of F.T. Island) waved their little treasure island flags with much pride and enthusiasm, VIPs (fans of Big Bang) toted little yellow crowns on their head, SONEs (fans of Girls' Generation) lighted up the arena with their glowing pink sabers, and Shawols (fans of SHINee) turned up full-force with their devilish horns.

To get all 8,000 concertgoers' adrenalin pumping and fans grooving on their feet, Korean rock quintet F.T. Island were the first group to go on stage as they stirred up the crowd with heart-thumping number after number. Though the group got off to a rough start – no thanks to the wonky sound system at the Expo Halls – they played their hearts out and pulled off an almost flawless performance.

D-NA and ZE:A were the next groups to go on stage following F.T. Island's set. The young'uns blew air kisses and interacted with fans, sharing that that are "happy to be here" in this "beautiful city". Infinite then took the stage and wowed all present with their uniform and slick footwork for their hit song 'Come Back Again'.

The crowd grew rowdier when SHINee took over the stage with their addictive tune, 'Replay', as fans at the seating area rushed out to catch a clearer glimpse of their idols. A five-member group, only four (Onew, Key, Taemin, and Minho) were present last night as Jonghyun was back in Korea nursing a leg injury. Despite lacking in full-strength, they impressed all the same, driving fans wild with their hypnotic dance tunes like 'Lucifer' and 'Ring Ding Dong'.

Following SHINee, Korea's most popular girl group, Girls' Generation upped the ante with their sexy dance moves, pretty pins and alluring marine outfits. The nine girls drove both male and female fans wild and entranced all with their captivating 'Genie', and the catchy rhythms of 'Oh!'.

Saving the best for last, all hell broke loose when Big Bang took over the stage with their Japanese number 'Gara Gara Go'. The five-member group clearly garnered the biggest shrills and screams from the crowd as many sitting members clamoured to get on their feet and chairs, rocking to their raps and catchy hip-hop tunes in unison.

The concert concluded on a rip-roaring note with all seven groups gathered on the stage's runway platform for its finale performance. It was a particularly poignant moment for many who would have never thought they would be able to catch their idols in person.

Music transcends boundaries and that was aptly displayed in last night's gig. You don't have to know the lyrics to the song to sway to its melody, nor understand the language to feel the performers' passion and dedication.

[news] 2NE1 #1 ON Melon Charts for 7 weeks in a row

The fearful foursome 2ne1 are still at it at the charts!

It has been almost 2 months since 2ne1 released their first full album "To Anyone" with so much expectations set on them, 2ne1 has been working hard non stop for the past months, they just recently had their goodbye stage on the 24th on SBS Inkigayo and ended their promotions for their first album, however YG has a surprise as he will reveal the follow up promotions for 2ne1 on the 31st of October.

2ne1 has made a very successful comeback, winning 4 weeks in a row in Mnet's m!countdown and in SBS INkigayo making them the first kpop artist to have 4 wins in a row also winning 3 weeks in a row in KBS Music Bank. Digital sales and album sales also went very well for 2ne1.

Competition has been very tight but still 2ne1 managed to stay strong on the top 10 of the charts not 1 but 2 months after their album release. In Melon, a music site, 2ne1 has been ranked number 1 on the weekly charts for the 7th week in a row.





Congrats to the girls and congrat's to all the fans who supported them! Now whose excited for Halloween?

[News] SHINee Surprise Support for Senior BoA’s Acting Challenge

5-member idol group SHINee gave surprise support for same-company senior BoA in her challenge of acting in a drama.

SHINee made a surprise appearance in a cameo in the SBS miniseries "Athena: Goddess of War," which is BoA's drama debut project and showed her their support. BoA and SHINee are SM Entertainment sunbae and hoobae.

BoA is appearing in "Athena: Goddess of War" as Asia's top singer. Acting as a character receiving Jung Woosung's protection, her actual image will be reflected in the production. BoA, who commendably carried out her acting debut in a drama through concert filming this past July, proceeded with filming in Korea this past 18th. With agency SM Entertainment's building as the backdrop, her natural and everyday backstage image was captured on camera. SHINee acted out a scene with BoA in the agency's practice room and added onto the authenticity.

A representative from production company Taewon Entertainment said, "We focused on capturing BoA's natural image from every day life. With SHINee's appearance, the scene became more realistic." BoA has completed all of her filming for "Athena: Goddess of War" with the conclusion of this domestic shooting.

Meanwhile, "Athena: Goddess of War" is an action blockbuster that features Jung Woosung, Cha Seungwon, Soo Ae, Lee Jia, and others. Its broadcast is scheduled for December.

[news] Code-V gains a new member Rui and is preparing to make a comeback soon

Code-V recently made a comeback this year with a new album, Code-V has been formerly known as Bless which originally debuted in 2007 with 4 members, by 2008 they made a comeback with 5 members with new member JaeWon.

Back in August leader Taemin left the group because he went and served his military duties. Now, It has been confirmed that Code-V has a new member named Seo Minho and his stage name is Rui, according to Jaewon, Rui has impressive vocal skills.

Although there's still no date for their comeback, it is known that Code-V are practicing hard for their upcoming comeback.

[News]Korean Artists Place 1st On Billboard Hot 100 For The First Time

Musical history has been made! For the first time ever, artists of Korean descent have proudly conquered the US-based Billboard Hot 100 Charts.

The four-membered group Far East Movement (abbreviated FM) have taken the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100 Charts with their song "Like A G6" as revealed on October 21st (KST). The group is made up of two Korean-Americans: J-Splif (Korean name Jung Jae-weon) and Prohgress (Korean name Noh Ji-hwan). The other two members are also of Asian descent: DJ Vermin (Filipino-American) and Kev Nish (Japanese/Chinese-American).

It's not just the song itself, but the music video for "Like A G6" that's been garnering much attention. It features several Korea-related scenes, such as Korean restaurants, soju, Korean brand Hite beer, etc. As of the 21st in Korea, the group's video had attracted over 100 million hits.

The Billboard Hot 100 is also known as the Billboard Singles Charts. It ranks some of the most popular songs in America, calculated through radio airtime and sales all across the nation. So far, the best that full Korean artists have ever done was place 76th on the Hot 100. This was by the Wonder Girls with their song "Nobody". Half Korean artist Amerie placed 8th in 2005 with "1 Thing". Another one of Billboard's rankings, the Billboard 200, saw band Linkin Park place first with their 2003 2nd album. Linkin Park is led by Korean member Joseph Han. Also, Boa's US debut album ranked at 127 on the same chart last year.

Far East Movement has done more than just set a new record for Korean artists. They've given others hope that they too can take the coveted number one spot on one of the most defining music charts in the world.

[News]Oricon predicted KARA and SNSD for Kohaku

Oricon has just released their prediction for this year's Kohaku Uta Gussen! Kohaku Uta Gussen, also known simply as Kohaku, is a prestigious music show broadcasted yearly on New Year's Eve. Only the most popular artists of the year are invited by NHK, the broadcasting company, and it is said that attending Kohaku is a big highlight in an artist's career.

According to Oricon's prediction, KARA and SNSD may have a chance at being invited this year! The two groups have made remarkable progress in their Japan debut. Currently, SNSD is #2 on the Oricon Daily Charts with their 2nd Japanese single, Gee, having approximately 35,000 units sold so far. KARA's most recent Japan release, Best 2007-2010, ranked #2 in the weekly rankings with 51,000 units of their album sold. In the past, KARA has also mentioned that it was one of their dreams to be invited to Kohaku. Will their dreams come true this year?
Past Korean artists that have been invited to Kohaku includes BoA, who has been invited 6 times, TVXQ, who has been invited twice, and Ryu, who has been invited once.

[News]Eric, U-Know Yunho, Kim Kang Woo “only doing a test for Poseidon”

Have U-Know Yunho, Kim Kang Woo and Eric been cast in the drama 'Poseidon'?
On 20th Oct, a video posted on the official website of the Korean Coast Guard showed U-Know Yunho, Kim Kang Woo and Eric in the midst of training. However the video has since been removed from the website. The video was apparently of the actors in the midst of doing a test, and they have not actually been cast yet.
Reps from the actors' management agencies said, "It's true that they were taking a test onsite after receiving an offer to participate in the drama, but the final casting has not been decided yet. The final casting will be decided through the results of the test and by an observation of how well they work with the rest of the team."
'Poseidon' is a 20-episode drama scheduled for broadcast in the first half of next year, and is Korea's first drama about the Coast Guard.

After Big Bang and 2ne1, Se7en this time promotes YG's 2010 YG FAMILY CONCERT.

The huge concert will be held on the 4th and 5th of December with a total of 3 shows at the Seoul Olympic Stadium and it will be holding a huge crowd f 36,000. It's line up includes YG's active artists such as Big Bang, 2ne1, Se7en, Gummy, and new comer Psy.

It has been 3 years since YG held a YG Family concert so this is really something to look forward to!

2PM gave their fans much delight as they celebrated their victory on music charts with fans.

On the 21st of October on KBS "Music Bank" and on the 24th of October on SBS "Inkigayo" 2pm won number on the music shows with their comeback song 'Ill be back' which as been topping the charts since they had their comeback a week ago.

As a result, 2PM had a fan signing session with their fans for 30 minutes at 6:00 pm KST last 24th of October with 500 lucky fans who were able to attend, the fans had a good time meeting 2pm.

2pm members carefully signed the albums and shook the hands of their fans. The event was also to celebrate their win on the music shows and also to thank their fans who supported them.

The 2pm members ended the fan signing event with their thanks and sharing their happiness with their fans who have supported them.

[news] Jay to release his digital singles in Korea

'Sidus HQ', the company Park Jaebum belongs to, said on the morning of 25th, "Park Jaebum is releasing a digital single album in the country, cheered on by his fans. We are going to introduce two songs on the coming 26th through an in-country music download site."

Two songs were held in the album- an R&B song called 'Speechless' and a song called 'Bestie' set at a medium tempo. 'Speechless' is an emotional ballad that shows the desperate heart of a man who has lost his love. On the other hand, 'Bestie' is a song from which the bouncing lyrics and merry rhythm catches attention, and will be presented in a Korean, English, and a remix version.

In this album, the personal musical identity and musical preference of Park Jaebum was also deeply held. It is a known fact that he had co-produced with ChaCha of AOM, which happens to be the same crew he himself belongs to. In 'Bestie', Jaebum took part in writing the lyrics himself.

His company showed confidence in the album. They passed on, "You will be able to feel Park Jaebum's further developed artistic abilities. We request a lot of anticipation and love for Jaebum, who always sincerely tries in the area of music."

On the other hand, these digital singles have been already released in iTunes, a global music site, on the 12th, and has taken up #1 on the 'Most Searched' list as well as taking up a high place up in the iTunes charts.

Idol groups BEAST and 4minute have received the Asia Influential Artist Award at the 2010 Asia Song Festival.

The groups performed and received the awards in Seoul, where the festival went on from 6pm to 10pm on the 23rd.

BEAST recently released their 3rd mini-album, and from their debut with "Beast is the B2ST" until now, they have become true boyband stars. Due to their hot promotions of their 2nd mini-album this year in places like Japan, the Philippines, Malaysia and Singapore, they have been selected for this prestigious award.

4minute, who debuted in 2009 with the worldwide chart-topper, "Hot Issue," have shown their sexy and seductive charms through their powerful performances. This year with Universal Records they have taken a step into the larger Asian market.

Son Dambi participated in a shoot that the theme was "The secret private life of an actress" which was shot in New York. She wore 1960-70 Italian inspired clothes depicting a lonely life of an actress.

Son Dambi showed her acting skills and looked glamorous in her outfits. She also revealed that, "I have a very big desire to act. I want to be able to sing and act in My career. It's my goal to be a singer and an actress." showing her desire to be an actress.

Gahee from after school will be having her solo debut.

On the 25th, it was announced that Park Gahee will be having her solo debut by Mid-November. She is not leaving After School but she will only work separately to present herself as a solo artist just like Orange Caramel was the first sub group off After School.

Gahee debuted in After School last year, but before that she has had music video appearances on various artists and been back up dancers of some of the top artists in the industry. This will be the first time Gahee will be going solo on stage and much interest and expectations are set.

However, her agency has not yet decided weather if she will debut with a mini album or a single but what's decided is that the genre will be "dance" and strong beats, Gahee will be meeting fans soon as a solo artist.

Yubin on the 24th of October updated her twitter saying "This was taken from the cliff on the sea when I was young." Then she shared a photo of her in a short dress with her young face.

Yubin said after wards, "This picture was when I was a kid, I was remembering old memories. Did you like it?"

Meanwhile, Wonder Girls are going to have a tour in Asia this November. They will start on the 13th of November and progress on over 13 countries among them are Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, China and 5 other countries.
