Posted: 21 Oct 2010 05:18 AM PDT Most of the time, fashion magazines walk a fine line between artsy and crazy, but they usually play it safe: pretty people looking pretty in designer duds. But this shoot adds just enough whimsy to tip it onto fully crazy…and I inexplicably love it. What? Birds totally go with haute couture. I’m planning on wearing one on my head to match each outfit I wear this fall. Beanies are SO last season. Yoon Shi-yoon (Baker King Kim Tak-gu) shows that he’s more than the king of baking. He’s the king of birds! (...) © girlfriday for Dramabeans, 2010. | Permalink | 15 comments | Add to del.icio.us |
Posted: 20 Oct 2010 09:26 PM PDT You can start to see the loose ends being tied up, or rather, preparing to be tied up in the finale tomorrow. I suspect we’ll get a lot of ends hastily tied together in the next episode just for the sake of leaving everyone happy, which I am not a great fan of; lead us through conflicts and get us there naturally, rather than inventing last-minute scenarios for happiness that don’t necessarily ring true. On the other hand, if we must choose between an ending that is either too pat or littered with loose threads, I’ll (grudgingly) take pat. Posted: 20 Oct 2010 03:45 PM PDT Mere days after a new PD was added and its scriptwriter replaced, SBS drama Daemul has lost its original director, PD Oh Jong-rok. Oh had just days earlier agreed to shift his duties more toward working on the script with the replacement writer, while new director Kim Chul-kyu concentrated on directing the shoots. Oh was to remain as the head PD, while Kim would be in an assisting role. However, now the production company has confirmed that Oh will wash his hands entirely of the drama, making Kim the head PD. The reason given this time is Oh’s health, combined with growing discord with the production company. (Methinks the latter is a bigger compelling factor than the former.) One source from SBS confirmed that it is true that the PD and the company encountered a big clash of opinions. (...) © javabeans for Dramabeans, 2010. | Permalink | 46 comments | Add to del.icio.us |
Sungkyunkwan Scandal: Episode 14 Posted: 20 Oct 2010 10:50 AM PDT Dear history experts and buffs, Please don’t take my following words as sacrilege. But I say screw history! At least for the remaining six episodes of Sungkyunkwan Scandal. I don’t want to hear talk about how illogical it is for Sun-joon and Yoon-hee to be together (as the Romeo and Juliet of Joseon), or that King Jeong-jo never actually overthrows the Norons with the help of four fabulous boys (and girl). Or how impossible it is for Yoon-hee to eventually sit at the right hand of the king and show those darn men how things are done. I know that Sungkyunkwan Scandal was initially toted as a fusion sageuk – but is it possible for it to be a fantasy fusion sageuk so I can have my (unrealistically) happy ending? Love, red pill (...) © red_pill for Dramabeans, 2010. | Permalink | 194 comments | Add to del.icio.us This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
