Ready for Girls Generation “Hoot”? (Taeyeon, Hyoyeon, Sunny)

Posted: 19 Oct 2010 10:11 AM PDT

Girls Generation released new teaser photos for their new single, “Hoot,” updating with Taeyeon, Hyoyeon, and Sunny.

Looking for another win with the single-syllable title track, to the likes of “Oh!” and “Gee,” Girls Generation is looking for another winner with “Hoot,” a single off of their third mini-album.

Girls Generation new teaser photos have been released, in sleek retro style. This time around Tiffany is rocking the blond power. So far, the photos for Jessica, Tiffany, Seohyun, Sunny, Taeyeon, and Hyoyeon have been released. The remaining members are presented only with a silhouette and a fitting “Coming Soon.”

The announcement was quite suddenly, with the photos released on Girls Generation’s official homepage (http://girlsgeneration.smtown.com), along with a teaser of the track. We imagine that the photos of Yoona, Yuri, and Sooyoung will be released tomorrow (or later today!).

There has been no previous news, but fans are all pleasantly surprised.

What do you think of SNSD’s new “spy girl” concept. Fitting or no go?

2pm wins an award in China!

Posted: 19 Oct 2010 06:00 AM PDT

We showed you the Twitter picture, now we will give you all the details!

We are thankful and we can’t believe that we won such an honor at a huge music festival like this. We will work harder to do our best and we want to thank all our fans who have supported us.”

The quote above is from 2-P-M! The band won the Most Popular Asian Artist Award from the Mandarin Music Honors (MMH).2pm (minus Nich-khun who was probably filming “We Got Married”) performed their singles “I’ll Be Back” and “Heartbeat” for the international audience.

Honestly,I’m not a diehard 2pm fan…and personally I think there are quite a few bands that could have competed against them for this award.(I will not name all of them here)

However, I know they work very hard and try to give Hottests the BEST stage performance. So,I will not discredit them or take their honor away from them.

Congratulations to 2pm!

Do you want to spend Christmas with 2AM?

2AM is a band that cannot be missed. After witnessing to their live performance this summer, I can tell you guys that this concert will be worth more than the ticket price! Their vocals are priceless!

Eli must recieve surgery!

Posted: 19 Oct 2010 05:27 AM PDT

Doctors have discovered that the singer has a broken wrist and impaired ligaments.

Because of Ukiss‘ busy comeback schedule, the band will continue their promotions as a 6 member group. Eli,however, must receive surgery for his recent injury.

Eli’s agency stated the following about their artist,

“…..the doctor said that the injury was not as severe as they were expecting. He said, depending on his recovery, Eli may be able to join in the activities. Most of all, Eli who has a strong will for [U-Kiss'] activities said that he will decide to return to activities once he recovers.”

It is sad to see another member of a band injured and unable to perform. I know all his fans will continue to send him messages of love and support until he fully recovers.

Of course, they will also continue to “Kiss” his injury until it’s all better!

[POP Quiz] Who’s this Fine-looking Fella?

Posted: 19 Oct 2010 01:27 AM PDT

Based on graduation pictures of this Korean star, can you guess who this young man grew up to be?

Maybe this isn’t hard…

That’s right, it’s Won Bin. These are his graduation photos from elementary and middle school, and the cute-turned-manly “Ajusshi” actor hasn’t changed much.

The photos are being shared through online communities. Netizens are amazed at how much of a pretty boy he was even before stardom.

What do you think? Won Bin, very much the same, or something’s different here?

No Season 2 for Sungkyunkwan Scandal

Posted: 19 Oct 2010 01:14 AM PDT

Don’t cry just yet…

With 5 episodes left of the 20 episode series, fans are desperately asking for more of the Joseon-version F4 in the KBS2 TV drama “Sungkyunkwan Scandal.”

KBS CP Kwak Ki-won stated, “In the script, season 2 of Sungkyunkwan Scandal is possible, but there are absolutely no plans to produce season 2.”

He also elaborated that there are a few problems if they even started talking about producing a second season, namely including Micky Yoochun and Park Min-young. As nothing has been set thus far, they would have to consider talking these two actors into returning.

Though Kwak CP says there are no plans, it seems the production team is considering the possibility, so SKKS fans, don’t give up hope yet.

Would you be down for a second season?

Popseoul’s Guide to a Fun SDAFF Filled Week

Posted: 18 Oct 2010 08:53 PM PDT

Over 140 films, 1,000s of people, and all in seven days!!

Like any adventure, one needs a well thought out and executed plan. Here are a few tips to enjoy the San Diego Asian Film Festival fully and rub elbows with many of the major Asian American stars in Hollywood. (Make sure to read to the end for a chance to win a special prize.)

1. Plan out your attack of the week with the handy dandy “schedule genius“. Even though online ticketing has ended you can still plan out your week efficiently because it will show which movies conflict and show you another time you can watch this movie as seen above with 71: Into the Fire.

2. Go to both panels if possible. There will be two panels, Asian Americans in Hollywood and Interpretations. You’ll be able to hear from your favorite stars including Ellen Wong (Scott Pilgrim), Harry Shum Jr. (Glee, the LXD), C.S. Lee (Dexter), Daniel Dae Kim (Lost, Hawaii 5-0), Aaron Yoo (Disturbia, Friday the 13th), Justin Lin (Fast & Furious, Better Luck Tomorrow), Jon M. Chu (Step Up 2 &3D), and even interact with them after the panel finishes. I mean who wouldn’t want to take a picture with Mr. talented-dancer-choreographer-with-a-hot-body Harry Shum Jr. or the elegant-bad-ass Ellen Wong?

3. Check out the After Parties!! From Thin Onyx to Blowfish who knows who you could bump into and party with?? All parties will include some cast and crew and celebrity guests so dress to impress!! We have it on good authority Thin Onyx is definitely the place to be on Friday Night to see some of the celebrities mentioned in #2 and on Saturday night Blowfish is where you’ll see people like Leonardo Nam (Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift, She’s Just Not That Into You) and everyone already listed in #2

4. Check out the Korean Films!! I mean, we are a Korean entertainment site right? The festival has many blockbuster films from this past year. And come on people, I mean, how often do you have the chance to see Big Bang‘s T.O.P., Kwon Sang Woo, Choi Seung Hyun in 71: Into the Fire, Choi Ji Woo, Kim Min Hee, Jang Dong Gun in Good Morning, Mr. President, Kim Ok Bin in the Actresses, and S.E.S.‘s Eugene in Yoga on the big screen?

5. Find me, Farah Moriah, at the festival. I will be there everyday so for the first male and female who find me and say “Popseoul” and strike a pose, you’ll receive a special gift! What is it?? An autographed SDAFF shirt with all the signatures of the actors who have attended the festival!!

Is Sun-mi planning on joining the Wondergirls again?

Posted: 18 Oct 2010 05:55 PM PDT

Well, one can’t be sure.

But it has been revealed that Sun-mi, former member of the Wondergirls, has been continually training at JYP Entertainment.

Sun-mi left the Wondergirls after their initial promotions in the United States to continue her studies in South Korea. She worked hard to receive a high school diploma by taking a test (Gumjunggosi) and has been working since March to get accepted to a college in January of next year.

Recently, it has been revealed that Sun-mi has been continually visiting JYP Entertainment to train. A representative from JYP Entertainment stated, “Although Sun-mi left the Wondergirls, she is still a part of JYP Entertainment. She has been continually practicing since January and if she wants to, she can come back anytime.

Many fans have expressed that they miss her and want to see her on stage again. Some of them are sure of her comeback since she applied to entertainment-related majors for college.

Do you think Sun-mi will come back to the Kpop scene soon? Would she join the Wondergirls or go a different route?

Yong-hwa is jealous over Seo-hyun’s relationship with TRAX!

Posted: 18 Oct 2010 05:00 PM PDT

On a recent episode of "We Got Married" Seo-hyun told Yong-hwa that she wore a wedding dress for TRAX's album photo shoot.

Seo-hyun agreed to let Yong-hwa see the photo. After viewing the photo on her phone Yong-hwa asked Seo-hyun, "What was it like to wear the wedding dress?"

Seo-hyun replied, "Everyone said we (Jung Mo – TRAX vocalist) match."

Yong-hwa: "Did you feel weird (on that day)?"

Seo-hyun answered, "Yes, it felt weird".

Yong-hwa expressed his feelings by saying, "So, you liked it? But, you didn't tell me about it".

Seo-hyun: "I didn’t have an opportunity to tell you, during that time, it was our cut-off period."(the cut-off period is a break for Seo-hyun to miss Yong-hwa)

So, what did you guys think? Wasn't it really cute when Yong-hwa became jealous?
