Jo Seung-woo makes stealthy exit from military service Posted: 24 Oct 2010 05:35 AM PDT Two years ago, Jo Seung-woo made a quiet entry into military service, and he made an equally quiet discharge on October 22. In fact, he took particular pains to effect a stealth exit, as he was initially scheduled to make his official discharge the next day. However, he was able to use unclaimed leave days to move up his discharge by a day. A rep from his side explained his reasoning for the move, saying that it’s because “He feels that he hasn’t done anything special in going to the army because it’s something all men must do. He wanted to do it as others do.” To make up for his secret departure, he will hold a press conference on the 25th, where he’ll answer questions about his service and acting comeback plans. Speaking of which, Jo has announced that his comeback project will be in the stage musical Jekyll and Hyde, which is a role he has played before, to great acclaim. (Watch the video clip of his performance, singing the production’s most popular number. He really does have a remarkable singing voice.) He has also acted in stage productions of Hedwig and Rent. Posted: 23 Oct 2010 08:21 PM PDT Terribly sorry for the delay. While I have been slow with this recap, this episode has been moving fast. I love that this drama keeps moving along with the plot points, and while there are certain things that keep getting reused as obstacles, they’re not so unbelievable that I’m getting tired of the trope. So without further ado… (...) © kaedejun for Dramabeans, 2010. | Permalink | 28 comments | Add to del.icio.us |
Choi Jung-yoon joins Kim Seung-woo in thriller Posted: 23 Oct 2010 03:57 PM PDT Actress Choi Jung-yoon (Smile, Bad Couple, Attic Cat) is heading back to the big screen for the first time in four years, co-starring with IRIS’s Kim Seung-woo in the movie His Counterattack [놈의 역습], described as a “human thriller.” The film unfolds as the main character, to be played by Sohn Byung-ho (Giant’s construction company president Hong), is falsely charged with murder by a corrupt detective, who will be played (brilliantly, I anticipate) by Kim Seung-woo. After clearing his name, Sohn faces that detective in a “desperate confrontation” that plays out themes of forgiveness and reconciliation. Petty Romance sheds some clothes…but not enough Posted: 23 Oct 2010 11:01 AM PDT “Now THAT’s what I’m talkin’ about!” … is what I said when I first saw this new poster for Petty Romance. Because the poster for sex-columnist-meets-adult-comics-writer should be showing some skin, yeah? Oh, like YOU didn’t want to see Lee Seon-kyun nekkid. But then I scrolled down, and saw that not only is he NOT naked (behind perfectly positioned poster, mind you), but SHE is. And now I’m annoyed. What the crap is that about? She’s gotta be (implied) naked, with hot pink heels to boot, but dude’s wearing boxers? What’s wrong with Equal Implied Nakedness? Now I’m going to have to watch this movie, just to keep tabs on its Equal Nudity Quotient. Yeah, that’s a thing. I just made it up. And I’ll keep score too. Via TV Report RELATED POSTS
